Hi mummies to be. I received both doses of the covid 19 vaccine n discovered i was pregnant. I consulted at KKH yesterday and note that I'm 7 weeks pregnant. This is my first pregnancy. Im leaning towards keeping the baby. However, I'm worried about the long term effects on fetal development. Just wanna ask
i) if anyone is in the same situation
ii) if anyone can recommend a trusted gynae for a frank opinion.
Thanks :)

Dunno this will help, maybe inform ur gynaecologist abt it and ask him/her to monitor

Hi Kengai, I took both doses of the vaccine as well, but I think i conceived a few days after my 2nd dose. The recommendation was to wait for a month to try but we thought, can't be try 1 time and strike. But yes we were that lucky.

For me I feel no one knows for sure because the vaccine has not been tested on pregnant women. And whichever pregnant lady who took the vaccines would not have given birth yet. I'm going with the attitude that if its meant to be, my baby will grow up healthy and well. Apart from the vaccine there are so many other conditions that all babies are at risk of, which I am also afraid of but can't do much except to take care of myself and hope for the best.

You are not alone. Take care!

Omg! Hi Canicie! I'm really really glad that I'm not. I went to see Dr Peter Chew from Gleneagles yesterday and he was like Noooo when I told him I wanted to terminate my pregnancy. He said to monitor like a normal pregnancy. I've taken the Pfizer vaccine. So he mentioned something along the lines that Pfizer mRNA does not contain the full virus which will affect the baby (this is based on sketchy memory of what he said cos I was really relieved to hear him say that its totally okay to keep the baby and to monitor the pregnancy normally). By right, if the vaccine had affected the baby in an adverse manner, there should be signs of miscarriage I.e.spotting and all. Fortunately, I didn't experience any spotting and baby's heartbeat and is normal. Do let me know if you would like to keep in touch. I'm really happy I'm not alone. Thanksss!

My baby was conceived during first and second dosage. I went with Dr. Khoo at Mount Elizabeth Novena. He is a very positive doctor and said the vaccination shouldn’t affect the baby

Hi mummies to be,

This is very comforting to hear. Hope all of you are still doing great. I have also taken the first dose of vaccine and will be due for my second dose soon.. I hope to ttc soon after my second dose but was at a dilemma as to how long to wait. But after seeing the above mummies doing good in their pregnancies so far, this really gives me a boost of confidence.
Hope that all will be good!
