NEW TO IVF. RECOMMENDATIONS AND EXPERIENCE JOURNEY

Hello everyone. I am 34 years this year. My husband and I have made up out mind to do IVF recently. We got in touch with Mt Elizabeth hospital, however came to know about the price after enquiries that thr price is a bomb. I would like to know somethings.
1) should I submit an online appointment form for Kkh?
2) if yes, who should I consider as my doctor?
3) I have been diagnosed with PCOS AND anaemia. How much does this affect on my ivf.
I am very new here and first time posting this here. I will appreciate some information from you lovely ladies. Thank you!

I went through the subsidized route from polyclinic, but subsidized route like very long... Currently already 10 months after my first consultation, but i havent done my first round of IVF yet :(

I went through poly for referral then kkh.

(If I got my timeline right)
Apr/may - I went to poly to get referral for irregular menses
May - got appt to see doctor, got scheduled for another appt. Went to see private gynae to get a scan instead.
June - Went back for 2nd appt at kkh. Showed results from private scan. Referred to ivf
July - saw Dr Phoon. Gave me two months of medicine for ovulation
Sep - suggest I go for iui.
Nov - did 1st round iui
Dec - saw Dr Phoon again. She suggested go straight to IVF. Told her we try another round iui while waiting for ivf (cause long wait)
Feb - did iui
May - did ivf

If you submit appt via kkh website they gonna consider you private.

Dr Phoon not at kkh public anymore. 2nd ivf went with Prof Jerry Chan.

I have pcos and low iron. Just took iron pills and adjusted diet.

Thank you so much! I'm having my appointment next week. I'm nervous and excited for this journey.

Good luck!! Kkh ivf renovated their clinic about 1 year ago so everything is very new. System is also much better than the last one. Baby dust to you!!!

Anyway, just as a FYI, I did tcm as well. Drank their medicine before I started ivf just to get my body in better shape. Did acupuncture as well. Continued acupuncture when I started ivf but stopped their medicine.

Going for my 3rd ivf (41yrs) since i have balance of 9frozen embryo, this will be my last round of ivf and I will dispose my balance frozen embryo huhuhuhu.. going for my scan this coming friday before my FET, hopefully everything going well. If everything went well, transfer will be nxt week hopefully.

Hi, can you recommend your TCM? Just had my first round of IVF but didn’t succeed.

Sorry to hear that.

I went to kin teck tong at nex. I find the yi shi quite nice and attentive. You can let her know your history and she will help you. Jia you!

Thank you. There are just a lot of TCM’s out there! So really unsure which is good to be honest.

There are! She's not the first one I went to. I went to a specialist at zhong hua but he kept pushing my husband to do sperm sample even though kkh did already. That's why I changed. Nex is not too far from my place so that's why I went there.

All the best to you! Don't stress too much!

Hi, I conceived two kids in kkh through ivf (2fresh 2frozen with my own egg) after I was told by another hospital that most likely I cant conceive with my own egg.
I got a referral letter from polyclinic but was told by staff that it makes no difference than booking from healthhub app as all ivf falls under private class anyway. The kkh nurses and doctors are very professional, empathetic and I feel the work flow is efficient despite the load. The only downside is that there is a waiting time for the first consultation before starting ivf cycle compared to private, but I feel after adjusting for the price difference I'd rather stick with kkh. Cause also need to factor in most ppl will need to undergo a few cycles before successfully become pregnant; and once u change yr mind after a fresh cycle, esp after the egg retrieval, it can be difficult to switch to different hospital as it involves transfer of frozen embryos.
