how was the check up?
I'm in my 7th week now. Will be going for check up this Friday. Hopefully get to see/hear baby's haertbeat cos the last scan could only see the sac and yolk. Also had brownish discharge which has stopped now.....so hopefully everything is ok. So worried.

ya,anxious right until you see the heartbeat? The c/up was good. same thing.only the sac. going again next week since my gynae will be away the week after. insha allah, can see heartbeat if not must wait until Oct *faint*
I have a cyst in my left ovary though, so my gynae is monitoring. It seems its common during pregnancy. But I didn't have it for my 1st one so a bit worried. Is this your 1st baby?

Dr Wong is very friendly, reassuring and professional. She is much more affordable than my previous gynae (Dr Yvonne Soong). So, I'm not sure how is her pricing against others. The previous c/up included consultation, urine test, scan and folic acid. cost me about $100. I also like the fact that she doesn't give out unnecessary products. Hi Yasmin, thanks for the info on Dr Adelina Wong. Think her charges are very reasonable. My visit on Friday cost me abt $300. That includes consultation, scan, multi vits, fish oil, hormone pills, vit b6 and some vomit stuff. The first consultation was almost $500 including the blood tests and all that. Dr Ann Tan is very detailed and good but I'm just wondering if it's wise to stick with her especially since there is a huge possibility that I have to have a c-sect (due to pre existing medical condition). But yet I am very comfortable with her and her style. So in a bit of a dilemma.

ur scan is awesome! so detailed. As for the cost, i can understand.Same thing with my first gynae.She's super friendly, detailed, reassuring. Give a lot of supplements also, some I'm not even sure necessary or not. similar to yours I guess. but everytime I see her my heartpain at the bill
but I never change la bcos it was my first time. But I must say Dr Wong is good as well. I've heard Dr Sim L N from TMC is good as well. Anyway, you're free to choose.

Diff gynaes have different rates. So, a bit diff to compare. Usually it includes consultation, scan and other stuff they want to throw in. The catch is, it is for 40 weeks pregnancy. Hmmm...I thought that everyone will hv one. guess not then. Then your bills will be quite steep looking at your per visit bill. maybe you can enquire other costs such as delivery costs and after delivery consultation.Maybe you can have gauge if she's really pricey and if you are comfy to continue with her. No doubt she's good thus her prices are high.

Yeah. That's what I'm worried about too. I think I will go down and maybe ask the nurses there so I can get a clearer breakdown of the charges. Steep is an understatement I think. Haha.
I try to fast. So far have broken my fast a few times cos I had really bad gastric pains. Like you, I get super tired easily and sleep never seems to be enough. Hehe. Must be tough for you fasting, taking care of a toddler and being preggers all at the same time. try get more sleep at night I guess....

Hi All.. i'm only 3 weeks now and will going for my 1st scan after 2 weeks.... juz hoping for the best! Anything we have to look out for ?

At 5 weeks,you should be able to see the preg sac.Your gynae will check if the sac is in the right place and see if there are complications. You would only be able to see heartbeat from 6 to 7 weeks. For now,just eat well, rest well and stay positive!

i've just visit my gynae once and my next appt will be this friday. i'll be in my 15wks then. i tot i was just abt 2 mths preggie when i visited my gynae but was told i was already in my 11th weeks!
this is my second pregnancy. my first child is a son who is alreay 13mths old. but i would say my first pregnancy was easier than my second. i'm much more stronger previously. mayb coz now i have my active son to use up my energy.

Dear Sisters.... can i check if we can do prayers when pregnant?
Now im at 6 weeks... n hv been doing prayters sitting down cuz i was told not to do strentous movement so not sure if prostrating and bending is ok onot... as my stomach is really bloated...
can anyone advise?

No probs on prayers. Can pray as normal. Maybe towards your delivery you might need to sit if you have swollen legs.

actually i like to add cili padi to my food sometimes. my son is quite fierce. when ppl took items from his hands or when he doesnt want to be carried by certain ppl, he would say 'HEP'. Short but firm tone. so far only will throw tantrum when he's not patient for his milk. My hubby says he's fierce mayb coz i like to eat spicy food. hehe... not sure if its true. i eat more spicy food now with my second pregnancy.

my appt last friday was good. baby in sitting position and saw as if baby sucking the thumb. but cant see the sex due to the position. mayb next 4 weeks or when i go for the detailed scan. i didnt gain weight mayb due to fasting but gynae says baby growing well. Alhamdulillah... tats the important thing.

haha! so cute! I keep on telling my boy he cannot hit mummy cos my tummy got baby. He only repeat baby then he kiss my tummy if i tell him to, but he always gives me the weird look. of cos he can't grasp. but that doesn't mean, we can't try *winkwink

my boy still hasn't understand the situation. so whenever he 'stunt' on me n my hubby scold him, he will give the blur look coz usually i will play along when he do so.
my EDD is on 8th March 2010. but i guess i'll pop earlier s my first son was 9 days earlier than the EDD. i went to dr. clifford chan in loyang point since my first baby. he goes to all private hospitals and mostly tmc but i choose east shore as its nearer to my place.

Been MIA for a while. Taking it easy from the last scare.
Yasmin, everything went ok. Rushed to gynae when the bleeding started. She gave me a jab and ordered bed rest for two weeks. Bleeding stopped after a few hours. Been taking it easy eversince. How have you been?

when i first find out abt my first pregnancy, i went to my gynae a week later after getting reviews from friends on the gynae they went to. by that time i was already 8 weeks. was given medication for stability n folic acid.
on my second pregnancy, i somehow suspect much earlier but just buy my own iron supplement and fish oil. when i tot i'm in my 8 weeks, i went to the gynae again only to find out that i'm actually already in my 11 weeks. so things just continue from there.
i didnt rush after tested positive for my second pregnancy cos i feel well except for tiredness which is normal n my first pregnancy was smooth.
if its your first pregnancy, mayb u should make appt with kk/ other gynae.

Asked around for recommendations of gynae cos the one my family doc recommended is a male one. Made appt after researching. Was in my 5th week when I visited the gynae. Hope this helps.

What makes me worried, the doctor pressed a bit on my tummy and she claimed that she don't feel anything which got me a bit scared. She estimated i'm approximately 12 weeks pregnant.She wrote a referral letter to KKH this week for my first checkup. Hope everything goes well. insyAllah~

my tummy shows. but when i take the train to work, some ppl pretend tat they dont c.
cant understand especially those ppl sitting at the priority/ reserved seat. they know they took tat seat yet they sleep. my hubby call the seat 'magic seat'. those who sit on it will automatically sleep. hehe...
