Hi all, I'm advised to go for IUI at KKH and will likely be starting next month. However based on my cycle, ovulation day will be on a Saturday/Sunday. Anyone knows if IUI can be done on a weekend at KKH? If not what happens?

Hi dear! Usually the dr will prepare a trigger shot for you to jab before the IUI procedure. Usually the scans will determine the follicles sizes if they are ready to matured. Once u started ur menses, call the kkvif dept and tell them. They will advice u what to do. Be prepared to come almost daily or 2-3 days for the scans to be done.. its more multiple visit then doing IVF which can be 3- 4 days apart to do scans. And ur partner will need to provide his semen on the day of the transfer.. if im not mistaken will take abt 1-2 hours before the insemination IUI. All the best!

Hi Azasha, thanks for much for sharing the process! They told me that the procedure might be cancelled if it falls on the weekend so wondering what that means. Hopefully the close monitoring and trigger shot can help to time it. Thank you!

Hi jjcch, i recalled mine was done on a Saturday if im not mistaken, or they delay my trigger shot to be done on Sunday n come on Monday for the procedure. Mine was SO-IUI. Unlikely it will cancel. Unless they find some fluids in ur womb due to OHSS or your womb wall isnt thick enough. They call it Tri Layer and prefer it to be more than 8mm for the egg to nicely attached itself.. mine was 11mm during that period. But guess my egg isnt good quality which failed n i had my period 1 day before Beta Blood taking. Do update us ya! Would love to tag along on the progress! :) All the best!

they do it on saturdays.. only not on sundays.

normally they will have a shot for u to prevent ovulation if it is "predicted" to fall on sunday .

Thank you all for the replies! Just want to update that I did my trigger shot today for IUI to be done on Friday! I'm excited.. but also don't want to get my hopes up too high as I know the success rates for IUI are not the highest
