HEAR MY STORY: AN UNFORGIVABLE DOCTOR'S NEGLIGENCE

Hi ,

Can someone PM me the name of the PD and clinic as well please? I delivered my baby boy at TMC earlier this year and I am currently still using one of the PDs there.

If u need to know, pls pm me so i can forward rachel's email. believe that she is busy taking care of her baby.

Rachel and Everyone,
I think from the Fetal Abnormality Scan that the gyne had ordered when pregnancy is around 25 to 28 weeks will be sufficient to detect or see on the scan. So once the scan is completed, the ultrasonographer and gyne as well will read the films. Anyway, just my sort of opinion from reading about Fetal anomaly scan. Thanks and God Bless You all.

oh dear. I also want to know the PD's name and clinic. Can someone PM me the details?

Rachel
I cant believe such a PD exists! He must be half asleep??! And to think he has the audacity to call u and say it's not detected at birth?? But i'm happy ur gal now can at least found the solution and not suffer anymore. HUGZ to u and baby.

so does it means the hospital doing the detailed scanning during pregnancy is also at fault?

A bit apprehensive abt the visting part. Think they do not want the incident to be blown up and affect the hospital reputation.

Thank God that mistake is found much earlier.

hi all,

as i was reading this thread, i was wondering why nothing was mentioned about the gynae that rachel visited? like what gondina mentioned, such defect can likely be detected during that 5mth month detailed check up. i remember being able to see my gal's frontal view during the 3D scan.

anyway, now that things are more or less settled down...i hope rachel and family are coping well with their little darling!

I believe that PD will be taking extra care after rachel's case.

Not every new mum will lodge a complaint when they had unpleasant experience in/after their bb delivery.

All mums-to-be out there;
Neverever trust 100% to those so-called professional personel. Anything you think is not right, question them untill you are convinced.

Hi Rachel,

So sorry to hear about this & tks for your sharing.

Hi all, please let me know who the gynae is if u know... I'm also a patient at tmcc. And I myself was born with a cleft...hence I would really love to know and avoid this irresponsible doc.

Dear Rachel and mommies out there,

pls PM me the gynae and PD involved, many tks!

Rachel, you are such a strong and brave mother, KUDOS to you! Your baby is a fighter, Jia You and all the best!

My niece has been born with a cleft palate and the whole family has witnessed the sufferings of the little one, crying and gasping for breath whenever she drinks milk. Sometimes, she will turn slight bluish-purple and milk will ooze out of her nose if the milk flow is too much. It pains all our hearts to see the helpless baby suffering so much!!

I've done some research(cleft palate can be detected early during pregnancy detailed scan) and wonder why is it that the birth defect is not detected earlier by the gynae? They are charging high fees for their professional advice and yet they fail to do their job properly.

If only the gynae and even PD can be more professional and responsible, cases of birth detects going undetected can be minimised. They should be alerted and warned for their negligence so that they will not hurt anymore babies.

This will prevent more babies from suffering unnecessarily.

hi,

can someone also PM me the gynae name and PD name? I will be giving birth at TMC too... hope its not the same person!!!!

Dear Rachel,
I am very sorry to hear about what you have been through. I have been through a nightmare when my girl was only 1 to 7 days old, and she also had feeding problem until she was one year old, though not because of cleft palate, I totally understand the hardship that you faced.

However, to be honest, I do not think that anything can be done against the doctor, just like your lawyer has advised.

It is a pity that his name cannot be posted in the public forum due to fear of defamation. I believe that there are many cases like this, and because of the fear of defamation, no one knows which doctor should be avoided.

Just to share, I have read a lawyer wrote in the newspaper, that if what you wrote in the forum is absolutely true, then it is NOT considered defamation.

Hi Rachel,

i am sorry to hear about the negligence
I hope your child is growing up well now.

like a concerned parent,
if any1 knows the PD, i would like to be warned with a PM too.

Lastly,
defamation or not,
lets leave the decision to Rachel, to post or not la.
