Gynae cost and packages

Prof Han How Chuan is very experienced and good too! U can consider, I am seeing him and no regrets so far. Fatherly and a very straight to the point doctor. I am a first time mum, naturally gan jiong and over worried but he always managed to assure and calm me down :)
I went to him once but i find him a person with very few words and didnt smile a lot though.maybe was just my 1st visit ya?

am checking as I'm with ACJ women's clinic and they are not covered by the FBI. hence not sure if it's worth to sign up for it.

TIA! :)
May i knw wat is TMC FBI CARD?do we need to sign up?
If i m seeing dr tham but decided deliver at mt A do u think i need to sign up tis card?

I signed up for it as it says there's discount for GAP Kids, but today when I went to buy baby clothes the staff at GAP insisted there's no discount. So I feel cheated.

Anyone with Dr Kenneth Edward Lee?

What is his package like and waiting time for 2015?

And does he does detailed scan at his clinic?

Thanks on advance!

perhaps u can check ur receipt. mine stated oscar + fa package p6, @ $463. less 5% disc (my mistake, not 10%!) and add 7% gst, it came up to 470

My receipt says oscar + fa package p7 @ $491. Maybe prices went up this year? Paid $499 with FBI discount + gst.

Btw how much did you pay for FBI? I thought it was abt $100+ but when I signed up it was only $60 for 2 years.

Meaning each time i would have to bring thumbdrive and after scan i request a copy?
I had done my oscar so will need to sign gynae package n do detail scan only.so wonder for detail scan how much it would cost?the scan will be done by dr himself right?,thanks;)

Dr Tham's assistant will always ask you if you brought your thumb drive. They will save a soft copy for you automatically. I forgot mine during the last visit and they said nvm. Save for me next time. I think this quite a nice gesture.

It's a TMC membership card which entitles you to 5% discount on fetal assessments, 5% participating doctor delivery fees (dr Tham is not participating), $80-$100 off hospital bill (depending on room type), discounts on childbirth courses and others etc...
Worthwhile or not depends on what services you will need at TMC. The biggest incentive is the $100 of hospital bill if you are delivering at TMC. If you are not then perhaps it's not so much of a benefit to you.

Membership fee is $60 for 2 years.

Hope this helps.

Detailed scan is done by a sonographer. Results r given to dr n he will discuss w u accordingly

I signed up 3 weeks ago and the welcome pack still includes 10% discount for GAP and GAPkids.

Hi I think I sign up around the same time as you. We were also told the card gives us discount at GAP but yesterday we were told by GAP staff that such discount doesn't exist.

He is a very calm and patient person. Think he's near to 60 already. Got #2 & #3 c-sec with him. $550 starting from week13 I think. Sorry my memory very poor. I like the clinic waiting time. I usually chose early morning 9am+ appt, from rch till leave always less than 1hr, sometimes half an hr. Most importantly is near my place and carpark is cheap and easy.
Yah i like Dr Phua very much. Im with him now. His package is now $695 from week 16 onwards. Includes 1 3D scan of baby. His delivery fee is $1000.

You might find him abit bo chup kind at first. Now we talk like friends. He is a very knowledgable gynae IMO.

oh my god, Dr Benjamin's has rejected to accept my case

I have been to 2 ultrasound with different clinic, both has told me that i have 7 fibriods(largest is 6 cm), and these might complicate my pregnancy
Currently im 10 weeks pregnant, I have read through all comments about Dr Benjamin, I have decided to mae an appointment however to my disappointment, Dr Benjamin is not willing to handle my case

haiz
Im now driven to desperation to find a gd gynae to advise me on my fibroids and how to make it smooth till my due date, is it so difficult to find a gynae to assist me?

For complicated case, I guess it will be better to refer to kkh as their facilities r more complete. Not to forget the high medical fees at private hosp.

@pikerr Maybe u can kkh Prof John Tee... Alot good reviews. My colleagues alot went to him, even 1 of my buddy who had women problem and was told cannot concive also managed to deliver a healthy boy. I believe u can get a gd gynae ! Dun give up.

Hi @tingting0322,

I might be seeing Dr Jonathan Wee if I have not popped by my edd (of which my gynae would have flown overseas for a conference). He is the partner of my current gynae. My gynae friend has commented that Dr Wee is nice and good surgically as she has seen her work. There isnt many discussion on him as he became a specialist and started private practice in recent years only.

I have fibroid too. interestingly its kkh that found it out when I went to a&e. Private gynae I first visit did not spot it and it is 5cm in size. Best is to visit kkh if u have special issues. So far my gynae did not mention any complication as baby outgrow fibroid. Dun worry honey. Fibroid can be removed surgically.

Is benjamin tham pro natural or more inclined towards csev? Heard he prefers baby to be less than 2.8 kg for natural.

@buns_bunnie , Actually best weight that he mentioned to me was less den 3.5kg. He is pro naturally...very... He dont even entertain my qn on c-sec! Naughty dr!
For my 1st 2 kids i induced cos worried hit 3.5kg, n another was he gg on leave. End up was 3.1x kg, so quite alright... Now his appt always so full, haiz.

not entirely true - he delivered my 3.555 kg bb naturally with vacuum (weight estimate b4 i popped was 3.2-3.4kg). He has been most encouragIng during my pregnancy :) he didn't once mention to me that he would like me induced although I had GDM and my LO isn't small .... i think he does consider the mother's frame.. if mommy is very small then he may suggest induction once bb is of a certain size ?

Babe, maybe you would like to consider my Gynae doctor hk ho from mount Alvernia. He's really renowned in the field. Charges not that cheap but worth a shot! Good luck and please take care

Hi Sandrina, $1000 is normal delivery? Do u know the cost for c-sect?

Hi Guys,

Just gotten the delivery charges slip from Irene Chua Clinic. She charges $3k onwards for normal assisted delivery (with forceps/vacuum) and $3800 onwards for c-sect. My friends commented she's steep. I hope her exemplarary skills make up for her steep fees..

I am seeing Dr Dharsh at Novena. It's my second baby that she will be delivering and I love her gentle and maternal way of handling both my pregnancies. She is very popular with the expat crowd so she know how to handle natural deliveries and will recommend operations only if really needed.

Thanks Twirlycandy! I am actually seeing Dr Law currently but find his fees on the steep side, each checkup without medication can easily cost $200++. I checked his package price is $1688 (12 times, no supplements) compared to other gynae which cost $700 - $1200 for package.
I have made appointment with Dr Wee for my next checkup in April :)
Hi MTB! I'm actually thinking of going to Dr Law. Do they normally require appts? Or they are able to do walk-ins instead?

Just curious how much other gynaes are charging for delivery now?

Went back to SP Teo since first child in 2011 and now csect delivery fees have gone up to 3900 (normal delivery 2900) excluding hosp visit of 250-350 per day. Seems like crazy inflation here.

Anyone else experienced this with other doctors?

Sound quite ex....
Most heard is around 1.5-1.8k for normal around end 2014-early 2015.
But the insurance thing may cause the fee go up more...

any person can share visit dr tan Hak koon from SGH?any idea any package offer there ?

He was assigned as my Gynae when I was subsided patient. Good and nice Gynae but I switched to private as I prefer female Gynae. Cannot comment on his stitching skills

Hi, this is my first pregnancy. This should be my 6th week, but I have not visited any gynae yet.
Friends recommended 3 gynaes:
1) Dr Esther Ng (Mt A)
2) Dr Benjamin Tham (TMC)
3) Dr TC Chang (TMC)

anyone has experience with any of them? would appreciate if you can share your views and their latest charges too...thanks!!!

#2 Dr. Tham is my current doctor. I find him to be very positive, reassuring and excellent at putting things in perspective. I had also gone through an amniocentesis with him. Skilled hands.

I am very inquisitive by nature. Hence, what I most like about him is that he gives parents both the pros and cons of any issue comprehensively so that parents can make an informed decision. He also makes a point to explain why certain procedures might be recommended so that we can understand the reason behind it.

He allows me time to ask questions despite his busy schedule.

A very jovial doctor who can help a patient look at the bright side of things.

His package starts from $650 from 13 weeks onwards. (Consultation plus typical scan photos - 1 hardcopy, the rest in USB storable format).

#3 Dr. Chang is in the same clinic as Dr. Tham.

He did my level(III) fetal anomaly scan at 20 weeks. FYI, usually doctors are at level(II), level(III) scanners give much more info complete with an explanation of the human anatomy.

IMO, he is very knowledgeable and reassuring. I find him to be more serious, but felt secure in his hands.

No package info. That scan costs $300. Typical TMC (oscar+detailed scan) can cost anywhere from 500-600+ depending on your combo.

Hope this is useful.

My gynae is Dr John Yam @ Gleneagles.

He has a night clinic at jurong point on tuesday & sat.

Each time the scan + consultation abt $120 ..

After i think 14 weeks, i took up package wif him @ abt $900 after gst.

He has quite gd reviews on the forum.

Me too second Dr Benjamin Tham. He's humorous and yet strict on certain issues. He told the gender of my baby at 16 weeks. When he detected some issues during scans, he was also very precise in his explanation. He told me my condition is alright and not to google and read other peoples stories. True enough when we googled, the stories were not very encouraging. His words really put our minds at ease.
I look forward to all my visits.
