Starting solids and introducing your baby to new foods is a pretty exciting time. But before you introduce your baby to different kinds of foods it is necessary to keep a check on the allergies. Here are some foods that commonly cause allergic reactions in babies.
Dairy: The milk for various animal sources can be allergic to the baby. However, breastmilk is safe and does not cause any allergic reactions in most cases. If you have recently started milk from an animal source and you can see symptoms of allergy it is best to consult and paediatrician.
Fish/seafood: Many babies are also allergic to fish and other seafoods like crabs and prawns. They might be great sources of proteins but if any symptom is noticed it is best to avoid these foods for the baby.
Peanuts/Tree nuts: Many people are allergic to peanuts and other nuts like walnuts and hazelnuts. Before starting any of these it is best that the parent consult the paediatricians.
Other foods: some other foods that a baby can be allergic to are mustard, sesame, soy, eggs etc. Even chocolate can be a potential allergen for the babies. Hence it is necessary to steer clear of these foods.

Parents need to be aware of the possible allergens in various foods, so that before they introduce the foods to the babies, they need to be prepared, take special care, and watch for reactions. You can give, but give very little dose at first, and if nothing happens, try to increase a bit more.
