Eczema, Rash or Acne.. Please Help Anxious Dad

Currently my daughter is 4.5 weeks old and a few days ago, some red spots started appearing on her face. i went to the GP she said it was eczema but would like know if it is true and what should i do.

Hi, to play safe , I would suggest you go to the
Polyclinc ask for a refer letter to NUH for an allergy test. Is will cut your cost . My daughter has the same problem when she was discharge from hospital bought her to a paediatrician, he claimed is rashes so I didn't do anything much just apply cream that was given to me . After 4 months it got worst . I monitor her for a few days then realised it happened whenever I gave cheese and eggs and occasionally powder milk when I am not home in time to breast feed her. So I ask for a refer letter to NUH to my horror she was allergy to milk powder, egg white, peanuts and dust mite and she has out grow them as she age except peanuts. Hope this helps .

Hi, Both my baby was Eczema too. They are healthy baby boys now. Eczema is due to immune system over active. All you need is to balance their immune system.

Hi, just to share, my boy was diagnosed with eczema by dermatologist since he was 4 weeks old. Whenever his eczema flares up, it will appear to be red, patchy and warm and coarse when you gently touch it. The advice I have gotten is best to keep their skin moisturised (am using Mustela Stelatopic Emollient Cream, Physiogel AI lotion, Ceradan) and to avoid warm environment/overheating as that seems to be a major trigger for my boy.. Also, lately I have been feeding my LO with Lactogg which is a probiotic that helps to improve body's immune system. After using for about 10 days, there seems to be less flaring on my boy but I will continue to use and observe over longer time period to ascertain its effectiveness..

Hi morning, sad to hear on the bad eczema issue. My girl also have very bad eczema on her whole body. I even went to see PD and given me Steroid cream and Cetephil lotion to apply but it don't work and also went to polyclinic to get referral letter to see skin specialist but they given me the same cream too. I share the sad news with my friend and she know I was very upset and she recommend me to try essential oil and the baby lotion from young living. I try for about few days to week and I started to see improvement on it. If need to know more pm me. Eczema can cause alot of issue to happen. Take care and hope your daughter recover soon.

There are many reasons that causes eczema. Stop trying this cream that cream. My daughter was suffering severed eczema for months. Bought all kind of creams but never help. Until my pd told me to stop feeding cow milk and changed to soy for 2 weeks. Finally we have found what the cause. Best advice for you is to take allergy test or try to change fm.
