I have not seen him but i have a friend who is 39 years old, has a successful ivf (1st try) with him last year and has just given birth to a baby girl. She tried for many years, went to him for iui but failed because her issue is that her egg shell is too hard so the sperm cannot penetrate, plus male factor problem. He correctly diagnosed her problem and did hatching and icsi for her. Hope this helps.

Wow! Thanks for sharing this dear! my confidence in him double up now! Tmr will be our 1st iui with him. He has been a caring and empathetic doc so far. Whether the 1st time is successful or not, our trust in him will still be there.

Okay... so we aren't first time lucky. 1st SOIUI failed.
Dr threw the ball in our court. To proceed with 2nd iui attempt or Ivf.
Now, because I'm seeing a private, if I choose to do Ivf with him, the estimated costs is 8-10k cash after govt subsidy.
If I go with him for another round of iui, estimated cost is $3-4k. I already paid $3,500 for all the pre tests including Hsg/blood tests etc...for my 1st iui.
Dr also suggested Femera on CD2-6 then see him on CD6 for scan. He might put me on Gonal f.
I'm a bit hesitated this round. I don't know if I should go for another round of iui or straight to Ivf.
If I choose Ivf, I will go to nuh because of the heavy subsidy.
Can you please help me find out how much your girlfriend spent for her iui and Ivf with Dr Yeong?

My 1st SOIUI...
Started on Femera on Cd3-7. 2.5mg x2 per day. To promote better ovulation.
Did u/s on CD11 with 3 follicles then menopur jab to stimulate growth.
Tested positive OPK on CD12...immediately went to clinic for another menopur jab and trigger shot.
CD13 perform iui.
*on folic acid and multi vits daily concurrently.
My new 2nd SOIUI ...
CD2-6 Femera 2.5mgx2
*on folic acid and multi vits daily concurrently. Just started adding on royal jelly capsules this cycle.
Was advised to go back on review CD6 for u/s to scan on ovulation/follicles... will then know what Dr will be doing then for this cycle.

Hi I will be doing IUI with him next month. So have you got any luck since then or will be due soon?
Oh well... 2 rounds of failed iui... and we switched to ivf @nuh.... and failed. Taking a break. I did not continue with Dr Yeong since his charges were so high. I spent almost 8k on 2 iuis. Since I needed to proceed, or rather, want to proceed to ivf, I might as well go govt and enjoy the subsidy. Prof PC Wong is equally patient and informative.
In fact... not only because of the 2 failed iuis... I should have gone govt instead of private in the first place.
I don't see any diff in treatment nor waiting between both...yet much more substantial savings at nuh.

Hi hi just want to contribute my two cents worth..
I first started ivf with Prof Wong PC at nuh then transferred to private with Dr Yeong.
I feel there is a big difference in terms of waiting time, be it for the ivf cycle to start or the waiting time to see the doc. For example, at nuh I always had to do the long protocol (i.e. take pills starting at day xx of cycle so that nuh can time my cycle to match their busy ivf calendar. With private or in Dr Yeong's case, I can start my stim as soon as my menses come. There is no need to take long protocol for the sake of the hospital/clinic's timetable.
Then also the waiting time to see prof wong is rather long if you are not the first few. Hence I always arrive at 7am at nuh to start queueing outside the closed gates with other ivfers so I can leave by 8plus. With Dr Yeong, there is usually less than 10 mins wait unless he has to go for last min medical procedure or delivery elsewhere.
In terms of personality, I'll much prefer Dr Yeong in my view. Dr Yeong is very gentle and patient, and I really appreciate his gentleness when performing the v scan (I'm super scaredy cat type and even need GA for ET).
Prof wong is not so gentle with scanning (as with most docs). Also, I got chided by prof wong before when I probed further about the grading of embryos. He was not very patient with me

Dr Yeong stands out because he is smart, clear and candid. He does not give "diplomatically correct" statements. Each step along the way he takes time to explain and take our questions. He does not refer us to speak to his nurses to find out more.

I'm also a patient of Dr yeong...I went to see him for additional support measures while undergoing my 2nd fresh attempt with Dr thh at kkh. Even though he knew I was with kkh, he did not treat me differently, he was still very caring and reassuring, which really matters when u are a bundle of nerves undergoing fertility treatment.
I'm now 21 weeks pregnant but I still see him every now and then as my back-up gynae

He was my gynae when I got pregnant too...he handle pregnancy also for non ivf cases.
So far he has been timely for procedures and delays are usually for consultations when he has to shift his appts for medical procedures. He's a very hardworking doc. He seen me at 630am when I checked in hospital for delivery, and he came by at 11pm again same day to check on me post op, still in his work clothes!

thanks for e reply. i ask this question as i ever met a case where e ivf doc went for delivery case and it delay a bit of my ER.
do you happen to know if he handles male fertility issues?
he advocates frozen only or both fresh n frozen?
sorry for the many questions as i am quite exhausted with many failed cycles.
Hi, I think it's really depend on how urgent is the delivery. Could be an emergency c sect.. prob most doc would attend to the delivery first. Hope you don't be so "lucky" and delayed a second time for though.
My husband didn't really have male fertility issue so I don't know if he specialize in it. He is with virtus and they advocate blastocysts and frozen cycle in general. But if you prefer to go with fresh transfer, I think can discuss with dr Yeong and he will assess and try to accommodate if possible. I am actually able to move my ER and ET dates around abit by discussing with him and he adjust my med dosage according and I got great results under him.
Don't give up, ivf is a number games... have to persevere... i tried for 2 ER and 4 ET before I got my baby. All the best!

My successful ER and ET is in bkk. He did ET for me twice with my old batch of embryos from NUH, didn't work out...I yield much better embryos under him compared to nuh. I have another friend who did her one and only ivf with him, frozen transfer one embryo and strike, now 5 month old son too!

A DOCTOR has been suspended from practice for two years and censured by the Singapore Medical Council after a disciplinary inquiry last month. He was convicted of professional misconduct that included having sex with a patient.
Dr Yeong Cheng Toh admitted to four charges while he was practising at the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital between April 2003 and March 2005, said a statement from the Singapore Medical Council on Monday.
He was represented by a lawyer at the inquiry, held on Jan 7 and 8. The disciplinary committee (DC) convicted him of improper conduct ‘which brings disrepute to the medical profession’ by engaging in a sexual relationship with a patient and failing to preserve the absolute confidence and trust of a doctor-patient relationship. This is in breach of the SMC’s ethical code and guidelines.
Dr Yeong also tampered with and made inaccurate changes to the patient’s biodata of the patient, and failed to keep proper and accurate records.
He also committed professional misconduct by failing to record or properly document details of the patient’s visits, medical condition and results on medical examinations during the treatment period, and failing to properly maintain patient confidentiality ‘in improperly disclosing to the patient, confidential information relating to the treatment and care of two other patients of the hospital’, said the SMC.
However, the committee took into account the mitigating factors that the patient was not ‘physically or psychologically vulnerable’ and there was no exploitation of the patient.
‘The DC also noted that Dr Yeong had no previous offences and had pleaded guilty, instead of contesting the charges. Based on the evidence presented, the DC was of the view that there was a low risk of Dr Yeong repeating the offence and also considered the favourable testimonies from Dr Yeong’s patients and colleagues,’ said the SMC statement.
Nonetheless, the DC was of the view that Dr Yeong’s conduct transgressed the professional boundary between a doctor and patient and a clear signal had to be sent to the medical profession that gross improper behaviour between a doctor and patient cannot be tolerated. The DC also viewed the three other charges as ‘serious offences.’
Besides the 24-month suspension and censure, Dr Yeong was also ordered to give a written undertaking to the SMC that he will not engage in the conduct which gave rise to the charges against him or any similar conduct in the future and to pay the costs of the disciplinary proceedings.

On 29 dec 2004, dr ct yeong told me and my husband that he can’t detect any heartbeat of my baby and asked me to remove the sacs immediately. He said if i do not remove immediately, i may not be able to conceive again. He also did not suggest other test to confirm but we requested. So he ordered a blood test for me. The next day, we went for 2nd opinion. Thanks god, my pregnancy was viable and my daughter just celebated her 7th birthday. Dr ct yeong could have killed my daughter if I had listen to him.

I personally think that this is his past and it has nothing to do with his technical competent. Also, i did my ivf and my pregnancy with him so visited him on and off for 2 years and he has been very professional, gentle and patient with me... I think if you have doubts perhaps best to visit him and have a feel for yourself.

Sorry for the late, I’m not active in this forum. CT Yeong is in a private practice, no co-funding from government. ART co-funding scheme is only applicable to public hospitals, National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore General Hospital (SGH), and KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH). However, we can claim $6,000 from our medisave.
I do not want to go to public hospital as the wait is terrible. I prefer to go to a private hospital, choose the gynea that I faith with. I can’t remember the exact cost, I think it about $15k inclusive of medisave claim.

Hi Babe, I have done 3 IUI and 2 IVF with him. Just done my FET and in the 2WW now. Dr Yeong is a great doctor I would say. Gives a lot of attention to his patients and is extremely caring. However, his charges are on the steep side.

I just conceived my twins under him. My first IVF cycle with him was a success. This is after three failed IUIs under gleneagles doctors. He is very patient, caring and experienced. He supports his patients at every step and is always a call away.

Has anyone did open surgery for fibroids with him before? Cause he recommended me for it but I am uncertain if I should do it under him. I hardly hear him doing operations.
