*Doctors for Children Eczema

My son is 2.5yrs old and I have started seeing Dr Steven Ang at Redhill Rd about 2 months back. My son's eczema is under control now.

Hi,

We went to Dr Low at Anson Low Clinic (Paragon). The doctor prescribed Physiogel shower gel and Physiogel AI cream, now my girl's eczema is under control.

My son have seen Dr Dawn Yang at Kinder Clinic (paragon). Apparently she specializes in allergy. She did prick test to determine the source of allergen and prescribe physiogel AI cream and steriod. My son was alright now.

my son has eczema at the foot, the redness only got away when i apply steriod cream doc prescribe. but it leaves the skin very dry.

anyone know how to treat it w/ no continuous use of steriod cream?

Im using physiogel shower gel n AI cream for maintenance. I fon't give my daughter seafood, egg(only omettle once awhile),,no.strawberry kiwi n i allow.letting her prespire too.much. if possible I let her sit on those cooling mat to reduce body heat. if weather is hot or humid n she prespire do much then rinse her with cold water. otherwise ill just wipe her arms n leg folds

Looks like many parents like me use Physiogel AI, it did help when my girl has chickenpox (on top of her eczema)!

I blog on childhood eczema and today's the first day of a 13-part series on sensitive skin products - an interview series which I sought advice from a leading hypoallergenics company and its founder, who is well-known in this field. Do visit eczemablues.com, it's a good and time saving resource for parents looking for eczema information.

As a family, we visit Dr Steven Ang at Redhill Road for all our skin problems. He is a qualified, certified Dermatologist and lectures at the NUS/NUH also.
He is also our family GP.

my 5 month old baby is seeing the derm PD at national skin centre - PD specializing in skin.

like to share:

my boy eczema is under control. his eczema is most likely due to sensitive nose according to kidslink PD. we have to kill dust mites, stay away from pets in order to control his eczema. and we did buy ATOCare the control kill dust mites vacuum. it helps a lot. i would say he 90% recover.

my boy was prescribed Protopic from kidslink PD. as i know Protopic is non steroid cream which is very expensive. i did apply a small amt once for my boy but the area getting worse so i stop using it.

was advised also the allergy skin prick test not much help. it is mostly for hospital study purposes. 70 - 80% if eczema due to allergy nose is bcos of dustmites n pets.

Hi

My 3.5 yrs old gal's eczema has went up to her mouth & lip. My husband has eczema on his hands. Dr say it is genetic. Should I bring my gal for prick skin test or patch test?
Up to now I have not found a suitable cream for her face. Currently using Physiogel AI but I am not sure it is works for her cos the little bumps still appear around her mouth after we stop the steroid for 2 days. As it was around her mouth, I can't use anything not edible on her lip.

Any safe remedies that anyone can share? I am desperate to find something that can soothe her wo steroid.

Steroid cream of low potency is safe, but if there's a trigger, it's good to know which ones so you can minimize steroid use.

Take care, and I host support group meetings once every 2 months, do contact me at my blog if you're interested!

hi mummies with eczema kids... i wanted to share this.
i went to Amazonia at Great World today n wanted my girl, who is 10mths old to try their playground. The receptionist greeted me politely n said its free for babies <1, then she asked if I hv socks. I said I do. She then looked at my girl n asked what happened. I said she has eczema (red patches on cheeks n some red marks on her hands as she scratches). She then looked at her palms *which was normal). She looked up and said solemnly "sorry its crowded today u wont want to go in". She repeated it 2x. I then asked if i can go in to take a look if I cant play.. She said i cannot bring my girl in. (But I just want to take a look!) And then guess what, I saw other toddlers queuing to go in! I can only say my girl has been discriminated against as the poorly informed receptionist thinks that eczema is contagious! Its alarming how she shut me off and went off to talk to other customers.

Mummies, if u have kids with eczema or skin sensitivities, pls avoid Amazonia as they wont take u in ! Such blatant discrimination is sad when a kid with skin sensitivities is perfectly capable of playing in a playground.

Pls take note everyone. i dont want u to go thru what i went thru as i kw how hurtful it felt to have ur kids shunned.
