Hi Folks,
I am a resident of this Town and I understand how big is our town and the bus services and routes.
I am sharing an idea which will improve our logistic issue of this Town.
I am also a driver (when hb is not using the car) and I always use the shortest route when I drive. For location which is like 2 km from my home, I think it makes best sense that it takes the most 10mins if there is no traffic congestion/parking issues or any accident. Over the years we had traffic congestion near schools but I didn’t pay attention to it because my kids were still in childcare within walking distance. Right now my eldest started P1 at CHIJ and we started to experience this traffic congestion pain. Though condition at chestnut drive is not so bad compared to Fajar and inner part of BP, I see the problem can be solved if we have “Community Bus Service for Primary Schools students within this Town”. This idea is not like private school bus service which I do not like their timing and fares. The idea of Community Bus is Primary Schools Students and goes round and round connecting all Primary Schools and operates only for peak hours (6am to 9am), (11:30am to 2pm). It doesn’t matter if this is a private bus company or SMRT so long the fare is reasonable(for Students and students accompanied by adult/helper). The benefits is for all the Primary Schools children and Parents Driver affected by Traffic Congestion. Some Primary Schools have student care services but for my situation, the student care is nearer to my home (2km from the school) and at times my helper can take up to 3 hrs to ferry my G to her student care centre.
What do you think of this idea?
