I know abt PV in last yr Aug and tried to do PV too. But the school closed PV liao.
So, thinking of doing community work, but also too late cos the requirement is 1 yr... Urgh...
I did other volunteer work, but as it was not near to the school, cant consider...

You have to 'tahan' the first time on 2C, then your younger children will enjoy Phase 1.

But was it low cos i recall i received the govt angbao for the first time when govt extend the benefits to the first kid too.
That time, MP was visiting my place, so was telling him, govt want pple give birth, but when it comes to jus to get into a neighbourhood pri 1, parents are so stressful and cant do PV even if they want to... so, how to give birth to more.

I started volunteer work as RC member a while ago.However,find it time consuming....It's abt twice or mbe more a week.Do you guys think I shld continue my volunteer work? I set time-table for him...and told him if he doesn't study, it's ok with me if he's last in class.

I will ask that u continue with RC. Firstly if u decide to PV at a popular school, chances are they will want to take parents with no work commitments. Cruel but true. Most school activities take place during working hours. School hardly have activities on saturdays. And even if there is, there will be many parents who would want to volunteer in such areas too. And given your work, you may find it hard to reach the number PV hours.
RC at least allows meeting at non working hours. Sometimes, one just need to bite the bullet and get over and done with. At least for RC activities, there is more flexibility, can be a bit late, can bring kids along. I don't think u enjoy such flexibility with PV.

I definitely agree with what u have said. I felt really dumb when i was rejected for PV in one of SG's popular school. Here i am, professional, and learned and am willing to take leave to participate for PV was rejected over an auntie. And all the auntie was needed to do was to do gardening. It seems auntie can commit to almost daily gardening and manning quenes during recess. Honestly, i can't beat auntie to that.

Yours truly here washed 6 cartons of sweet potatoes for the school's Civil Defence day. That night, my fingers were all rubbery after being soaked in water for 5 hours.
On one hand, I felt indignant having to do this, but for the sake of my dear son, I had to brainwash myself that it's for a noble cause.

I am thinking whether the primary school has an affiliated secondary school. Reason is simple - education is getting tougher and so having an affiliated sec school will lessen the worry of where the child goes (as long as he/she meets the minimum entry)
