Anyone have brought back ex-maid to Singapore without agent

Hi

Need advise on the procedures required if we are to bring in the maid directly from Indonesia without agent.

The maid I am bringing back used to work for me and went back last year. She wants to come back to work for us. So I thought I can do the paperwork on my own here and skip the transactions with agent. This would also mean her "loan" would be lesser.

Anyone have done this before? Can share?

Hi mummie, am recommending my ex-maid's sister to work for my hubby's colleague. Hubby's collegue is trying to bring her in herself to lessen the maid's loan, and also to save on agency fees. How much are your charging for the paperwork etc? Kindly email me at [email protected] with more details.

Hi all,

Philippines exit does not allow direct hiring. Must go through agency. Or take risk to come in as tourist but difficult especially from Manila. Too much questions asked until maid cried. In the end, my ex-maid decided not to come back. Waste my air-ticket and issurance!
 
I brought in my last maid in from Phil directly.. she pretended to be tourist (becos Phil does'nt allow direct hire). Customs on Phil side asked a lot of questions, asked for bribe etc etc until she cried but in the end managed to come through, after 'promising' to pay the corrupt official on her trip back (as tourist). Not for the faint hearted, your maid must be pretty tough to do this on her own.

My present maid also came in direct hire from Phil but this time I paid an agent (here in S'pore) to be her 'escort' so she wasn't 'threatened' by the customs. So much easier save me the hassle but of course more expensive. But my maid only paid about 4 months salary deduction, not like the usual 7 months.
 
i just got my former maid in directly from malaysia. she's actually from indo but was illegally working in malaysia. fortunately she has a valid passport so all i needed to do was apply for her an in-principle approval, thereafter insurance settled before i got her in. when she came in, she had to go for a medical check up to certify that she is healthy enough to work and thereafter it was just smooth sailing from there. you can call mom and they will guide you accordingly since such a procedure is not quite common and is not listed on their website.
 
hi, albk, need your help to explain the process for direct hire maid. i would like to got my maid to spore,which is currently work for my parent in msia. her passport only allow her stay in msia. Appreciate your early reply.

I'm also interested to hire a maid from Indonesia directly. She's the sister of my current helper and I'm thinking of hiring her for my parents. Can I get her to visit Singapore as a tourist, and then hire her? Does anyone have experience hiring maid directly? How do get the educational certs, language test done? Also, does she have to pay an exit tax on the Indonesia side? Thanks!

You can't get your maid as tourist and hire her.

my maid is from indonesia and ex-sin.

I hire my maid on my own.

1) u need the maid passport info e.g full name, pp expiry date etc

2) apply for work permit, and once approved you'll get IPA.

3) Apply your maid insurance by phone call to NTUC income/the one stated in MOM website.

3) at the same time, u must have an agent at indonesia to settle stuffs at indonesia like the exit permit(fiscal) etc n of course you have to pay.

4) once in sg, do the necessary MOM requirement like checkup, wp.

Its cheaper and my maid no agency loan to pay.My maid gets her full pay in her 1st mth

the agent quoted you 1300, does this includes exit permit(fiscal) & watever to be done at indonesia,flight ticket to sg,work permit, insurance, check up when in sg?

If yes, let the agent do as its a hassle to find an agent there unless you have contact there or your maid know any reliable agent there.

Try SMR, they are charged me for $800+ in 2010 which consists of insurance, work permit and medical check up. Try to google and u can call them to find out more. Ur maid also need to have a new passport, KTKLN card and another card which I ve forgotten... before they could clear the indo custom. Also avoid when near their festivals or celebrations like Hari Raya cos they will try to extort ur maid for money. I kena before that is why.

My ex Indo maid is now in HK and she wants to break contract to come back to Singapore to work for us again.

She is currently fulfilled 6 out of 2 years' contract and short of 1 month before she gets her 1st salary.

Her HK agency says she will have to go back to Jakarta.

Can someone tell me if I liaise directly with Indonesian agency, is it workable?

hi, can anyone advise help on direct hire of my former filipino maid? Her passport is ready but I don't know how to proceed from here. Several agents i called have quoted me betw 1.8k to 2k just to do paperwork! Any help is greatly appreciated
 
Hi,

I called the Philippines embassy in Singapore, and they told me that the new regulation does not allow for direct hire.

If that is the case, how can we do direct hire without going through agency that charge high fees?

I understand some documents need to come from POEA which is linked to the government and embassy..
 
Do they still need agent in Indonesia?

If the maid is coming byferry? do we wait at the ferry terminal?

She need to have KTKLN Card. If no, you will have to go embassy to do the employment aggrement and conference with your maid in indonesia and the embassy officer on salary and off day.

In 2010, I searched for few agencies and all charged above $1.7K. They charged half of that. However, ur maid side need to get an indo agency to get few documents ready plus the KTKLN card. This will comeout around $300 to $400 which I dicussed with my maid that I will cut from her 1mth salary. She agreed so I paid around $800+ to the agency plus a seperate air fare around $130.
 
Can the maid submit online to apply for the ktkln card? She our ex maid who wants to work for us but she do not know how to apply the card. Heard they can't do online only indo agency can do. Anyone can help me. My email add is [email protected]
