    Hi

I hope to open this thread to share on how I overcome my anxiety disorder because i know people who have anxiety disorder naturally needs alot of support and understanding towards it.
Hope everyone can share your experience and how you overcome it.

I happen to have it when I was holidaying and my heart pound so fast that I thought something bad is going to happen to me. I was later told that I have general anxiety disorder. I had my difficult times that i could hardly eat and was so upset over it and always have the anxious feeling so powering on me. Until probably about 2 years ago then I started to slowly recover and understand to accept it as it is. By accepting it you break the cycle. I have also googled a lot to find natural cure. I also realised that by taking Vit B complex does helps too.

    Anyone has any experience?

    Hi

I am taking Holland Barrett Vit B complex. Actually before taking this supplement, i googled and chanced upon this panic away program which i eventually got sign up and read their articles. Slowly they taught me on how to eliminate anxiety symptoms.
Though after so many years, the feeling still do appear sometimes, but I understand it and soon it pass.
Recently i went to a Wellness centre and they gave me another supplement called Immunity prebiotic by Cytoflora. I was told by the therapist that people with anxiety usually have problems in digestive symptoms and by curing the roots of it, will eventually cure anxiety. I am taking for about a month. I do see improvement.

Are you certain u have anxiety? Do you have symptoms?

    Hi dear

My worst is heart palpitations, fainting spells, tightness in my chest, loss of appetite. The first hit was in year 2009 in taiwan. Then I went hospital there and took their medicine and was ok. The second hit was the worst when i was working. This time, even i took the western medicine, i had bad side effects such as loss appetite, loss of myself, hide in the house. I decided to see TCM that point and was given acupuncture. Eventually, I get better. But still, the symptoms could come probably once to twice a week, thou mild.
So i decided to google it and relised that some supplement can helps such as Vit B complex, Omega-3.

    Hi

I am glad it helps. I guess we are always constantly checking on our symptoms and hence, the anxious feeling never subside. Hence, It is better to take a smile and accept it. When the anxiety comes, tell yourself " Ok, i know you are here, but I need to do my stuff..." eventually, it will pass. The more you think, the more anxious u feel. I also realised that what triggers my anxiety is the constant worry of health issues and family issues. So learn to relax is important.
You can try panic away (googled it). The program is quite useful.

    Hi

I am glad it really helps you. I hope everyone with anxiety disorder really understand this is not something that is life threatening. Is just that we feel more anxious than others.
I took Omega 3 from Nature farms, but I did not take everyday. As and when I will take. B complex i took everyday.
Do you have any digestive problems as well?

I can't sleep well at night as I'm always awaken by the fast palpitations. I took sleeping pills prescribed by the dr and slept beta. I felt dizzy and breathless too. Blood test, ecg and xray came out normal. Still waiting for the results fm 24hr holter device and heart ultrascan. I fear being alone as I'm afraid of another panick attack. These 2 days seems to hv got better. I guess deep breathing, essential oils, diet and brisk walking helps too.

I hv stopped all supplements i was taking cos i'm not sure if they cause heart palpitations for me. I take more vegetables, fruit juice, fresh milk, bananas and avoid caffeine. The essential oils I'm using were recommended by my gf - ylang ylang for inhalation and aromalife for applying on the chest. The essential oil are from Young Living. You can do a google search on them.
Hope our problems will be over soon. Cheers!

Hi, sorry for late reply. I finally given concor the minimum dose which help to arrest my anxiety although I don't have high blood pressure.

The results from my echocardiography and ambulatory holter came out as normal acc to my cardiologist. So he did not prescribe me any med except sleeping pills. I have started tcm medicines for a week. I can sleep better now but still wake up in the mornings with palps and chest tightness. I guess it will take time to totally go away. So did the medicine helps you? I do not have high bp as well.

  24. onsansg

    onsansg Member

Hi, yes. Concor of 2.5mg low dose is helping me well. You can ask cardio to prescribe to you instead of lexotan or,tranquiliser.

  25. Joxavier

    Joxavier New Member

Thanks. I went to see another cardiologist for 2nd opinion n was surprised to learn i hv a leaking heart valve. Dr had given me Concor as well. Nd to go for further review to see how it goes.

  26. onsansg

    onsansg Member

Concor is good, at least it will not make you dizzy or imbalance walking besides maintain bp n control palpitations. Only selected gp clinics outside carry, so if you found one gp that prescribe, stick with that gp no matter how far that clinic is

  27. onsansg

    onsansg Member

How would leaking heart valve will affect a person? It will close back by itself right?

  28. Joxavier

    Joxavier New Member

This means that just after the heart squeezes and pumps blood forward, some blood will leak backward through the valve. Some of the symptoms wd be breathlessness and palpitations. It will not close back. If medication doesnt work will nd a valve replacement.

Hi, not sure whether anyone who been thru this is able to help. I once had a med allergic and woke with palpating heartbeat, spinning room and short of breath. after that incident, I'm afraid of eating any kind of med that I'm not familiar with. As I feel I almost die from that incident, with a 2yrs old daughter, I start to panic about life. Whenever it turn night time, I'm worried the same thing happen again and nobody take care of her if I die. places I go must be crowded where I can get help if I faint.. when there is a long traffic jam, I start to panic again as I afraid help cannot reach me on time. we went on a farm trip and I'm so frighten (as farm is off the track) that my heartbeat is so quick I feel like fainting.. any one have any notes that I can only how to deal with this? wanted to try the vit B but I read abt the side effect and I'm scare again..

I just want to assure you that you are not alone in this. I have been having palps and breathless at times for past 2 mths. Drs and cardiologist had assured me that i do not hv any heart issues. Although my cardiologist told me tat i hv a slightly leaky heart valve but it was not severe n requires no treatment. So i am trying to relaz myself now and not caused myself too much anxiety. May i noe wat medicine u were allergic to? R u still experiencing the palps or feeling breathless? Hv u seen a dr on this issue?

I'm allergic to fenfedrin.. the palps and feeling breathless is like a come and go thing. it can come suddenly and they I feel breathless and nervous for a few days or maybe weeks then I return to normal mode. but going out on holiday is nerve wrecking.. I'm seen a GP before and he say it's gastric??? not sure what doc to see on this issue.. I'm so uptight about my health at times I thought I'm going crazy..

I understand how you feel. I still having such symptoms on off too. I'm currently taking Concor for palps and Xanax for anxiety pills prescribed by my cardiologist. I think u r probably having panic attack. Try to take some light exercises like yoga and brisk walk. It helps to calm yr mind and helps in breathing. Also avoid caffeine or any stimulants. Hv a healthy diet and most of all try not to worry too much as it will increase yr anxiety level. If u are still concern get yr gp to refer u to a specialist.

I'm reaching out now to you because I recently slipped into anxiety in August 2016. It is due to many factors - frequent vertigo episodes during menstrual cycle, child waking up countless times, stressful job that brought about sustained fear and much negative emotions. I saw a naturopathic doctor who prescribed me some herbs and they have helped. They are also very expensive. I've recently finished some of the herbs like probiotics and bit B5 and sunflower lecithin and have since stopped taking them thinking I'm better but my recent period cycle brought about another vertigo episode. That made me extremely scared and I had a panic attack over the weekend. Which made me fear to get back to the cycle of anxiety which was really so horrible! I guess I need support especially from people who have been through or are going through the same thing. I hope it's not too late for you to be reading this to respond!

I understand that xanax and any med tat belongs to benzo category is very addictive. Whoever is taking pls do not take it long term as it is not easy to break off for some ppl once on it.

Hello, I think in general, women are worriers and the bulk of anxiety sufferers are women. I really can understand how you feel. As I'm still on this journey of self-discovery and healing, I want to share with you that breathing, meditation and positive self-talk helps. It helps to break the cycle of negativity. For me, each time a negative or fearful thought comes, I will tell myself a positive to counter the worry/fear and take deep breaths and think about the breath. Like focusing on it. I recently stumbled upon Michael Sealey on YouTube. His meditational/hypnosis videos are really good. It puts me in and out of sleep and kind of resets my mind and body. So profound. Was initially skeptical but since I'm desperate, I try everything! Also, faith in God helps a lot too. Jiayou!!!

Does anyone still have anxiety issue? I'm feeling terrible. Everyday can't sit still, scare of crowds. Blood pressure increase. Not sure if is anxiety. Shld I visit imh? Very worried. It just come suddenly for no reason.
How u all cope,? medication help? Gp doc told me don't take medicine. No good. I trying yoga now but Dun seem it help.

  44. Hi girl you may want to visit a GP and then get referral to counsellor? I think not really a need to visit IMH to that extent.

I used to have heart palpitations or blood pressure increase when having anxieties. usually it means something is bothering me deep down and i do not know how to overcome it. I read that stress means resources < demands which is true.

I find for myself, praying, talking to friends or counsellor, and ultimately addressing the root cause of the anxieties helped. I've moved countries and also changed jobs and noticed gradual or even immediate recovery from the symptoms, just to name a few measures I've taken to address the root causes.

    Jia you!

    Thanks for the reply.
I going to see polyclinic and ask them to refer me to counselling or what. Cos u feel hopeless everyday .just don't feel well everyday, shaky can't sit still etc.

Can check if you got take any supplements to ease the symptom ? Some say is due to digestive issue.

Did u take any medication? Gp doctor say ask me not to eat medicine cos will be reliable on it. I do not have any frds who are anxiety. So I have nobody to turn to.

  46. Hi hi feeling hopeless sounds quite grey. Pls do see Counselor and talk it out.

I didn’t take medication but I have friends in the industry who will advise taking drugs if confirmed depressed. This is because it helps to balance the chemicals in the brain. I can’t comment for sure but pls do seek professional opinions before taking drugs.

Was there any event which u think post this you had these feelings?

Also do find a Friend to share. Someone non judgmental. I think everyone has anxiety just the degree and how they deal with it.

Big hugs you are not alone.

Ya. I do not have friends who I can turn to for advise or help. So is very terrible feeing. I recently even have sweat on palm n feet. That makes me think even more on if I got other illness. Am I going to die soon etc.

I have fear of fainting and illness. Whoever is sick in my house, I can be very scared and worry. Especially vomit.

But sometimes at work or outside I can feel panic also for no reason. Now I even distance myself from eating with colleague. Cos I can't sit stil

I was with anxiety prior...shaky hands , mood swings and also heart beating v v fast etc. Then my doc took blood test for me found that I'm hyperthyroidism aka graves disease. I advise u to test blood see if your anxiety is due to this or not since u mentioned u going to polyclinic. Take care! Any questions Pm me cos I'm not often here.

So this is my fear. Scare of fear. Wonder if there us such thing happen to anyone here . Feel stupid but can't help thinking.
