We are a young couples and pregnancy is confirmed.

The polyclinic refers us to KK hospital, I have heard that there are many MOs, trainee doctors etc at KK.

Do any mummy here recommend an experienced, caring and have patience to listen? I know there are doctors who are not courteous to the mummies, the mummy already faces swingy mood during pregnancy, I don't want the mummy to get irritated if she faces a uncorteous doctor.

How is Dr. Lee Jia Min, Dr. Wong Heng Fok from KK hospital? I have no idea.

As this is our first time, so will really appreciate precious opinions and comments from fellow parents here ^^

Hello!

I will recommend Dr. Wee Horng Yen, who is a senior consultant in KKH Specialist Clinic B, he also attends to the Private Suite and AMK's KKH Night clinic on certain days.

2-3 of my friends were under him

He delivered my #1 in '09 and my #2 coming march

To me, he is quite patient and assuring, as he answers questions that I have to the best that he can

Hi Mummies.. I just gave birth last week and I had Prof John Tee with me throughout my pregnancy period.. I recommend him to any new mommies who's having a hard time choosing a Gynae at KK.. Without Prof John Tee, I guess I'll have a difficult time delivering my baby boy. An experienced and caring doctor.. Thumbs up! :D

Hello, I just gave birth last week and I am under Dr. Wee Horng Yen. Usually I went to see him at the AMK night clinic on Thurs. Definitely would recommend him as he is very patient and caring throughout the whole time.

My experience with Dr Wee Horng Yen at kkh is quite different. I find he is always rushing. Sometimes my consultation barely lasted 5 mins.

If u raise a concern hoping to hear his opinion, he wouldn't give much of an opinion but instead immediately prescribe more medication (without probing further to have a better diagnnosis as to whether it is necessary) or point you elsewhere eg. to a specialist in the area of your concern.
My opinion of him after the few consultations is that he doesn' t ask questions nor does he give information. He just wants to get the session over and done with. You' ll probably end up w a higher bill if you raise any concerns which will make you vary of even raising any concern to him cos you will not hear assuarance but instead pay more.

Not sure if this treatment is cos we are seeing him at The Private Suite in kkh. I'm not against him or anything as he is nice enough but just want to share my true experience during consultations with him.

I had my eldest son at RH..i was happy but when i was back with my subsequent pregnancies (which ended up in miscarriages), my gynae wasn't like how she was 5 years before.

I was recommended to Prof. John Tee by a colleague and by coincidence, he was also the surgeon who operated on my aunt for her fibroid issues. He was empathetic without saying anything unneccessary and you can tell that even the nurses who works with him respects him and knows him well. He is a man of few words, w/o compromising important isssues.

I finally got pregnant after my 3rd miscarriage and predictably, i was diagnosed with 'Perinatal Depression'. Prof. Tee was by my side through e 9 months till.e very moment i birthed my healthy baby. He was quick, alert and was on the ball through my 12 hr labour. I believe he didn't even go hm. I was admitted at 5pm and till 5:32am, he came in many, many times to reassure and check on me.

I love this gynae so much that now im pregnant with my 3rd, i will definitely be going back to this "chill pill"..or as my husband nicknamed him,"The Don of KKH".

My biggest issue with my prev gynae at RH was how she handled my miscarriages..basically, to her, it's not even an actual baby yet..so no big deal..can try again..i am.a practical person but issues of lost are touchy and for the amt we were paying her, i expect a little more tact..she's not even a Prof to start with..

My second son was delivered by Dr. Wee Horng Yen 2 mths ago. I was very grateful to him as he managed to keep my son till full term. I had a premature girl under a different gynae previously. Knowing my history, he took extra care when dealing with my pregnancy as I was spotting till 5th months.

A few weeks before birth, I was diagnosed with GBS. My husband and I were worried to death that it might affect the baby. Initially, we opt for ceaseran. After discussing with him, we finally delivered the baby via normal birth successfully.

Agreed that his consultation is short, but he is really nice and caring. He even makes an effort to remember my daughter's name when my girl went with me for his first consultation.

Hi,
Anyone to know Dr. Wee Horng Yen is leaving KKH? any news to know where he is going to next hospital or private practice?

Thanks!

He has gone to private practice. His clinic is at novena medical centre. If you want, can call the clinic at 63976138. Cosy place and counter staff are helpful too :)

Anyone seeing Dr Han How Chuan?

Also, do all your KKH gynaes measure your baby's tummy size and head circumferenence at every visit to let you know baby's estimate weight?

Hi...I was financially strapped when I was pregnant with my first born so I was on 'subsidized' scheme.

I am not sure what ur financial standing is but most doctors that I went through at kkh were nice n accomodating. Yes, seeing them is a rushed job but any gynae is good.
