Hi all, joining the Oct 2015 mummies group :)
EDD 10/10 for our #1
On the hunt for a new gyane as my current gynae at TMC is not renewing his OB insurance due to the recent insurance hike :/ But I am still seeing him for my first trimester since mine is a fibroid pregnancy and currently on bed rest/injections due to brown discharge since Week5. Heartbeat was detected on Week 7 so my gynae assured us that we should be doing fine but he doesn't recommend me to walk too much yet.

However, feels quite dilemma should i change gynae to Dr Tan Thiam Chye (KKH) because he was recommended by Dr Zhong Ximing(EYS TCM) and i think i got pregnant after i ate her herbal prescription. Dr Ben told me i got to C section due to my previous fibroid surgery done by him and he says it high chance to womb cannot take it. so i hope to hear 2nd opinion as i read the Csection article today. i feel i am not brave enough to go through all that.

Current status, every morning im hungry but after i ate. i felt very discomfort and want to vomit out what i ate few hours ago. Basically consider never eat much.

Dear Mums-to-be.. any opinions? because i dont dare to ask advice from my friends yet. i felt scared and helpless.

Try eating small amounts at regular intervals. Usually, what really works is to have a little plain crackers first thing when you get out of bed. Then after doing your prep for work, get some light breakfast and bring a snack or two along with you. You will be hungry again and will need it. Nausea is a very common symptom of pregnancy and it is ALRIGHT and normal for you to feel that way. However, if you are vomiting a lot, you need to go see your gynae ASAP as vomiting may cause you to lose the pregnancy due to the lack of nutrients.

As a general rule of thumb, for the first trimester, eat whatever that you can keep down. Important thing is to have your regular intake of nutrients.

I find crackers helps too! Wholemeal crackers for me and a cup of milo. Im not a milo fan previously but for this pregnancy (my 1st), i find comfort in hot milo and wholemeal crackers in the morning :)
 
Hello mummies!!!!! I am so finally tested positive.. My due date is early nov but from the looks of things my no3 should come in the last week of oct ;)

This is a long awaited child.. My 1st 2 are one try one shot.. This one I waited 6mths ;) hehehhe I cannot tell u all how happy I am!

i had a previous fibroid op too n i was told by my own gynae n another gynae (head at KKH) that c section will be the way to go cos don't want to risk having the womb rupture during labour since the womb is not as strong as others'. so I'm more or less prepared that I will have to go thru c section for my bb n most likely will deliver 2 weeks before EDD (early oct).

i lost all my appetite since week 5. nothing tempts me anymore. :(
i do experience tiredness and giddiness, especially in train rides.
wish this MS can be over soon.

i went on friday to see my gynae and saw the flickering heartbeat through v scan as i was really bloated. i am about 6-7 weeks.
both my hub and me thought that that is really a touching moment. :)

Hihi, expecting my 2nd baby. My son is already 2 years 10 mos, a dragon baby. My EDD is Oct 21. Went to gynae last Thursday and baby is already 6 weeks, has heartbeat already and measures 5 mm.

oh I alr had a second opinion from the kkh head so i think i will just trust my own gynae n do a c section. i'm quite OK with going ahead. My fibroid op years ago was quite complicated. they had to even reattach my womb to preserve my fertility due to my young age then. so i cannot risk trying a natural birth as I would really like more kids in the future. :)

Hihi, I think tiredness is part of it :) I used to love rice but now I can't only eat noodles. So, I just eat whatever I feel like eating except for those that gynae told me not to. I crave for drinks such as lychee ice too

me too! when i just tested positive, everything seems to unreal, could be cause at that time i don't feel anything yet.

my gynae says, just relax and eat whatever u like, except for raw food. sadly (or is it lucky?) i do not have cravings yet. i just feel like hibernating.. sleeping all the way...
 
do you ladies experience on/off symptoms? cos i would get really bad bloating n constipation for a couple of days, then it would go away but i would start to feel really nauseous for a few days, then my appetite comes back for a couple of days n then like yesterday n today, i don't have appetite again n i'm starting to bloat n constipate. It's like every day there's something different. The symptoms just take turns to hit me. But generally definitely feeling tired n "unwell" n been having constant backaches.
 
I initially had a good appetite but this past few days I've lost it. Keep on feeling cold in the evening and body feels so out of place. It feels like I'm having period cramps at times as well.

But if u were to continue u do know the risk right? Then again if I were given the same advise I wouldn't know what to do. I feel u :(
Actually I read that it usually is ok to bf while pregnant. Maybe the gynae just prefer to play it safe
 
My work requires me to be in uniform and I need to bun my hair neatly. I used non-aerosal hair spray daily. Is this OK?
 
Like some mummies, i got no appetite for the past 2 to 3 days. Not feeling extremely pukey or anything just the sight of food dont appeal to me :( and im feeling warm & cold at the same time. Body feels a little warmish makes me wonder if im having fever or not cos the past few nights haven't been slping well too
 
Hi I'm slightly over 2 months now. Family and I over the moon! I've no special craving as yet but been having on and off morning sickness and terrible bloatedness which has resulted in me having to leave work earlier at least once a week. Anyone having the same problem as me?

Being a first time mommy, I'm very kiasu and went to google online on the products to abstain from. Deodorant being one of them however when I asked my Gynae at mount alvernia, he said its safe to use deoderant. Just stay away from soft cheese, raw food and certain fish like mackerel and swordfish as they're higher in Mercury.

My bloating is quite bad too. It happens every 2-3 days n like u, i've had to leave work earlier too cos it's very uncomfortable to sit down n rather lie down in bed. I can't seem to finish my meals these days cos of the bloating n food generally doesn't appeal to me much anymore. Last nite, i couldn't even get past 1/4 plate of hor fun for dinner. I'm trying to change my diet so that the bloating will be minimised. I read that taking smaller but frequent meals during the day helps n must eat slowly. not sure how it will help me though if i'm already eating very little n don't have appetite to begin with.

Hi azncutiegal,

I just realized we are seeing the same gynae. Dr WK Tan at tmc. Went to see her as she was my friend's gynae. I feel that she is very experienced but doesn't talk much.
 
I just went for my first appointment with my gynae this morning but the doctor said he can't see anything.. not even the sage ...
my first day of my last period was 22nd jan 15.. so by right I should be 5th week now.. doctor did do a blood test for me.. need to go back again on Friday to see the result.. I am so disappointed now.. anyone can advise me?

Dont give up hope! I read online and some ppl only manage to see a sac at wk 6. Maybe just need time and there could also be a possibility that your ovulation the previous mth is later than before? So might still be early :)

hi.. you mean there might be possiblilty that even if the test kit shows positive but gynae might test a negative/? .. even if we missed our period.?
