(2013/09) September 2013

#1 I started with Dr Joycelyn Wong at TMC. halfway switch to NUH cos my boy has some complications.

#2 will go back to Dr Wong at TMC. hopefully no complications, can stick with her. will see her at 6 weeks. now start of 4th week.

I also tested positive this week. This is my #2 too.
Sticking with Dr Ang from Int' Women's Clinic...will be seeing her in 2 weeks' time.

Seems like it's #2 for us here so far.. =)

hi all, i'm 6 weeks into my first pregnancy and will be seeing Dr. Lim at TMC this sat for the first time.

tao, 10 months difference! means your #1 is only 1 month old or so? super brave mummy! or do you mean your #1 is 10 months old now?

my #1 i 9 months old now and i already headache how to take care of two young babies. haha.

Maid will take care of my babies, with MIL to oversee. But the maid has served MIL for a long long time so we trust her, though have to teach her from scratch how to take care of baby. only started to let her hands on with baby 3 weeks before i go back to work, when baby is 3 months old. will do the same with #2, take care of the small one myself until i return to work.

madeleine, dun worry many experienced mummies here to share tips with you!

My first one started with Dr. AL Lim. However, now because i need to study and work at the same time, It is very hard for me to go back to him cause his waiting time normally is super long and he does not have night clinic. I am now with Dr. Tan Poh Kok @ PK Woman Specialist. Hopefully he will be good because hardly see people review on him.

Hapeverafter, yea his nurse told me need to wait very long. its a sat, hopefully not too long. :p 11am is the appt, nurse i can go earlier if i want but he dont come in so early.

Hi all, I'm a new mum and also a new member here. I'm feeling very excited, nervous, worried and happy at the same moment. many mixed emotions which i cant really explain. its good to get to know all of you and to learn from you gals, especially those who are having 2nd baby.

i tested positive on 9 jan and i have gone for my 1st appt yesterday. i'm currently 6w3d and edd is 3 sep 2013.

because i'm new here, there are alot of terms used which i dont understand. i hope you gals will be patient with me.

what is DPO?

Tao XZ -

#1 we sent to infant care from 3.5 months onwards. Then he promoted to toddler class at 18th months onwards.. Now he is enjoying his full day child care.

So likely #2 we will be sending to infant care as well. I just submitted the form for the placement online for Jan 2014 intake.

We have a helper who just joined us one month ago, but she's super cannot make it... There's no way we can trust her to take care of newborn all by herself. Unless we change a maid or be blessed with a good responsible helper.

No help from parents or in law.. So gotta be independent... =)

Mummies who are expecting #2 and above, are you all carrying your babies/toddlers now? I remember when I was pregnant with #1 my Gynae advised not to carry stuff above 5kg. Though my boy is young, he's 8kg and very active. Likes to kick his legs when being carried. I'm still carrying him, hope it's fine?

Thanks magc for the explanation.

Fel > I have not experience MS yet. I hope I don't.

Yan > I saw my baby heartbeat during my 1st appt. gynae says its still too small so can't really hear. But I can see from the screen the pulse of my baby heartbeat.

Tangerine - I'm still carrying my boy lei. He is around 11-12 kg at 22 months old. Impossible not to carry him cos he is such a mummy's boy

Usually 6 weeks can detect heartbeat. But if count the weeks by using LMP instead of ovulation date, the weeks may be wrong cos ovulation may be later. So maybe going by LMP is 6 weeks but actual fact is 5 weeks therefore cannot detect heartbeat.

Fel, mines not a mummy's boy so all the more I must carry him more haha. Do you think we can continue to use a carrier? Those beco/manduca type.

I'm a new member here. Tested positive yesterday, 1time with kit, and 1 time at doctor. I think it should be about 2-3weeka only. When do I see gynae?
Any mummy is seeing Dr Ben Neo?

Hi Tracy, most pple see Gynae at 6 weeks.
But if you've already chosen a Gynae you may wish to ask the nurse as some Gynae may have diff practice.
Congrats!

Hihi everyone, tested positive last week for my #2 will be having gynae appt this week @6 wks +. But I suspected already b4 testing coz was having all sorts of funny food aversions and cravings!! This time keep craving for spicy spicyfood, in fact if my meal not spicy, will get indigested and nausea. So strange!!

Anyway, I am still carrying my #1, and omg, he is so heavy. I will "accidentally" drop him and he has to walk then.

Ferendipity - icic... Hi 5 to our appt on 24th jan... First time meeting little beanie...

not superwoman - Hihi!!! How old is your #1? I like your "accidentally" drop him.!!! funny

Hi fel, my #1 is 3, so fully capable of walking! He's just being a mummy's boy. You also having #2? Are your symptoms the same as last time? I hope for smoother pregnancy this time, symptoms slightly different this time. Earlier slight MS but luckily not fainting like last time!

Hi cecelia and ferendipity, lets all hope the MS keeps away!

yes yes.. lets hope we dun hv MS.. i heard of some terrible ones..
im getting excited.. bt worri too. hee.. :p kinda mixed feelings.. haa.. :p

waiting to see my gynae on 28/1... i feel tat is kinda long leh.. hmm.. i will b 7th weeks by then...

Not superwoman- my #1 is 22 month. Like your fully capable of walking n running but he just like to be carried by me... Like yours he is a super mummy boy...

Me also slight MS only. Slight nausea every now and then. Vomited once during sat night cos maybe ate too oily supper...

My previous pregnancy vomit from 6-16 weeks. Lost 4kg...

So I think this time maybe much better

Cecilia- see gynae too early also might not be able to see much

6-7th week would be a good time to see gynae. Hope can see a strong heartbeat for me by 24th...

Hope I can see heartbeat on this Thurs! 6+ weeks

Cecelia, Fel is right, just take the folic acid. My previous gynae says those calcium and iron suppements not needed during1st trimester, so don't anyhow take.

Last time I lost 2kg (was already underweight) in first trimester and doctor was not worried hee... He says MS is healthy.
But its sooo hard to work when MS strikes.

Hi ferendipity and fel. Thanks for the warm welcome. I've not seen dr Ben Neo for check. I only went there for periodic checkup but the charge is slightly expensive. So thinking whether to consider to change.
I had diarrhea today
sad.gif
is it normal?

How expensive are his charges?

Diarrhea- could u have eaten something that didn't agree with your tummy? Drink more water

Hi Fel, I went for normal checkup, the pelvic scanning is 40, consultation is 70.
I dunno what's wrong.. had soya bean with cereal, and orange juice and diarrhea started. I drank 2 liters of water today.

It's normal. Both diahhrea and constipation is normal during early pregnancy. The body can't get used to the change in hormones that's why.

For me both pregnancies I get tummy upset. Sometimes cannot differentiate whether is cramps or stomachache.

Hope u recover soon. Can drink apple juice to stop diahhrea.

hello! just tested positive. havent seen gynae yet.

for my first preg, i had ms till the day i delivered. it was so bad till i had dehydration n was on hosp leave for the last 2 mths of pregnancy. my #1 is 12 mths old.
