Thanks little dotty. Yes my mil gave him more water today even the fm she made it diluted. Purely on milk today no cereal for him. His temperature is 37 now. 4 hrs ago it was 37.7 hopefully he gets better tmr
Mummies who bought FM from kim sang before, are their production from Singapore? Cos i see the price is a lot cheaper ie one of the brands selling $23 promo price Vs cold storage/NTUC retail $41.90
Hi mummies, do you experience serious hair loss after pregnancy? While you are still breastfeeding, do you use any hair loss products and doing treatment at the same time?
I gave birth to my baby in may and experienced serious hair loss for the past two months plus. I am very tempted to go for scalp/hair loss treatment plus using the products. But I am still breastfeeding my baby. So would like to ask the mummies here, do you breastfeed and do treatment at the same time? Thank you....
I also have severe hair dropping during baby 4-5months period, doc says its due to hormone changes when we BF. I used this brand called GrowWell from watsons i think, spray type scalp treatment. I used it after consult with my PD since there is active ingredient whom said is ok. Personally i find it effective cos i see baby hair growing from my hairline at fringe area within a month. Duno is it coincidence its the time when we start to grow hair or the product is really so good.
Hi Apple and rabbitz
I also have severe hair loss till now (baby is already 7 months) but I can see many short hair growing back (phew)
i use this shampoo form hoyu I use black shampoo series with hair tonic. But i do not apply the tonic daily so i am not sure if it is really working well.
FAAA > I used to feed my son cooked apple puree but he does't like it. However he loves the "un-cook" apple. I bought some net type fruit holder and let my baby bite / suck on it. He loves it a lot. He loves sweet things too. loves puree pumpkin, carrot etc , but does't like broccoli..
Groundpepper: what else have u fed baby? My baby started on cereal 2 weeks ago and last week was apple which she doesn't like. Today we boiled pumpkin soup so fed her some pumpkin too. What are the next choices of food to feed? Can't remember wat else I fed #1 before intro porridge
FAAA: So far I have only fed : sweet potato> carrot> pumpkin> apple purée > broccoli > potato. All of them I steam n blend in the Philip 2 in 1 machine.
I fed each food separately first before mixing them. I have not intro any meat or egg yoke yet.
I m planning to give more vege so I bough baby spinach to try.
I feed him one time cereal with milk n one time other food each day. The rest is milk feed.
I m also looking when to give him porridge.
For cereal I ve tried 3 brands : healthy time, earth best n organix (?) I like earth best most. Healthy time need lots of cereal to make the same amount of cereal with milk compare to other so I think it's not worth. I dun like organix due to the grainy taste in the mouth.. But it gives the largest amount of cereal. One spoon of the powder produce quit a lot of cereal.
I tried whatever my son ate haha.
my boy been rejecting solids since a week +, milk intake also as little. Gave him organix and he didnt like. Still have Heinz havent try yet. Cerelac brown rice he used to take but now also reject. Cry n cry mouth dont want to open when try to feed him solids.
My gal had been relying on my bm here, sometimes can't find suitable food. So far got give her pumpkin, soup n bread. It helps cos she not so cranky when she also got to eat.
Biggest problem is the long drive and she hates the car seat! My ears almost deafen by her scream.
FAAA: carry and bath her together after we bathed since we dun trust the bath tub here.
Ground pepper: Earth best is good and very fragrant too but hard to buy. Bellamy is what my gal is taking now. I also bought the porridge but haven't fed. I will intro pumpkin and sweet potato next wk.
Can start porridge soon. Can also mash egg yolk, broccoli with potato and milk to make mash potato for baby.
Dolly: U travelling Free and Easy? Is it tough to travel with baby so small? Did u pack alot of stuff for baby? We are travelling next month too.
Anyone has $5 off for 900g Enfapro Stage 2 voucher that you want to exchange with me to 2x$3 off Similac stage 2 900gram? Pls PM me if u r interested to exchange. Hopefully soon as I would be travelling soon. Thanks.
My boy like cereal. At the moment is happy belly brown rice @ oats. Any puree he dont like we spike his cereal with it. More acceptable.
Apple ,pear, banana dont really like but can try few times spike into cereal.
Carrot, pumpkin, sweet potato, potato, corn , green pea, he ok with it.
My boy stood up by himself holding onto the play pen this morning. 7months 1 week old. He just learnt to crawl 2 weeks ago, didnt expect next milestone so fast
Nowadays he crawls very fast and once near anything he can lean against he will attenpt to hold it and stand.
When is suitable to start egg yoke? I read is 8months?
Actually puree sg sweet potatoe, pumpkin etc about 3 tablespoons, considered as a meal of solid? or solids only refer to cereal and porridge?
Anyone knows if we can cook chicken with their porridge to make it taste better? I only know we can use pork slices right? But the meat just for flavour and dont feed to baby.
Ground pepper: Can get Bellamy from Vita Kids (Forum/Paragon). The organic supermarket in Great World. I just found that NTUC Finest sell them too. Bought 2 packs from Thomson yesterday.
Rabbitz: I do use chicken and beef for my #1. Feed to them at 8 months onwards. Just chopped it finer yourself
My boy is down with runny nose and cough, doc gave him antibiotics cos his throat red red. But i am not very comfortable of giving him Antibiotics at such young stage. Any mummy whose baby fell sick recently (fever/flu/cough), did yr PD give antobiotics?
Hi rabbitz my boy developed a slight cough last Sat so we gave him his prescribed cough syrup to take but it got worse and then he had runny nose so on Mon we went to visit his pd. he gave cough and flu syrup, antibotics to take if he has fever more than 37.5 so far didn't need to take the antibotics. He's also given nubuliser to take and this helped to clear his phlegm. His cough is less congested now. Th will head back for pd review.
FAAA: yeah, we travel free and easy. Where are u going? For aussie need to bring along car seat and booster seat cos they are very strict on that. And my gal will scream and cry real loud. After so many days still the same. Food wise I just go local supermarket to get those Heinz bottle food. And she's been latching directly so no need to bring pump along. I got a buggy board for my boy so that he can stand behind the stroller. A lot of logistics! What's ur Facebook name? I can friend u then u can see all the photos. Haha
Dolly, which part of Oz u went? Are u still there now? It's quite a long trip yeah? I tot can rent car seats from car rental?
We are going to Hong Kong for 6 days. Need to bring bottle food, cereal and milk. But cos she only just started solids I have to give her 'safe' food just in case there's an allergy.
Can add me on FB? [email protected]. Then we can see each other kids. Haha
Rabbitz: I gave my gal antibiotics before. Abt 2 months bk when she suspected UTI. 1 week of Augmentin. It shd be fine. My gal also always on/off flu but I don't bring her to pd just let it clear by itself. I think she's probably like her brother to have allergic rhinitis
I brought my baby to a GP cos its cheaper, 4 med + consult $40. Chanced upon in some forum abt this doc who is PD qualified but runs a GP clinic, a lot of toddlers go there too. So this helps save a bit. I got my immune package from Thomson Med@Katong, kinda regretted cos after i compare 'market rate'.
FAAA: we are in Sydney now. Staying for 18 days so better bring our own carseat. I got the boostapak for my 3 yo from spree, very portable
I've pm u, pls add me instead as I can't figure out how to add friend using iPhone
HK is not stroller friendly, so better dun bring heavy ones. Tough to carry it up and down the stairs.
It's going to be cold too so better bring enough for at least first day. Haha can buy from there after that, nice and cheaper!
Rabbitz: my kids both dun sleep at home, bringing them out have higher chance of sleeping on stroller. Just need to get used to it
Hi, does anyone using Nan ha 2 milk powder? I've just changed from s26 gold to Nan ha 2.my baby is pooing 3-4 times watery green stools. Is that normal? Kindly advice. Thanks.
Jeslyn: My baby is still on Nan HA1. Yes this milk powder makes the stool watery and green. But why change to HA? I'm thinking of changing my baby to non-HA milk powder soon
Dolly: 18 days is a very long trip especially with a toddler and baby. must be exhausting!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that trip to Hong Kong goes smoothly. My son can be quite to handle at times. :S
My baby almost 8 mth, got 2 teeth now but not crawling yet!
FAAA: same here, I lost my patience w my boy at times. Especially when he tries to test boundaries! Always keep a lookout for both of them, in crowded places is easy to get messy!
Thx FAAA, I got a bellamy rice for my boy to try. He's taking it well.
rabbitz, ur boy crawl really fast.
My baby is also taking similic Total Comfort as well, I am thinking of changing him to normal powder.
Any one feeding Enfa ? My friends suggest me that brand.
Dolly: 18 days out there with 2 babies wow! I can't even bring my boy to orchard road now. It's so crowded and packed it stressed me out.
My baby too pop 2 teeth. And now he Loves to play with his tongue and saliva. I have no idea how to stop that.
Groundpepper: my gal also blowing bubbles, but luckily not as much saliva as compared to last time when she's teething.
On the contrary, I like to go orchard ( but might not be at this time of the year) because its full of nursing rooms!
I'll bring along my pupsik sling n a stroller, so that when my 3yo is tired, he sleeps on the stroller while I sling the baby. I got a second hand buggy board to attach to the stroller so that my boy can stand behind stroller
My boy is very active, he will crawl to the coffeetable and slowly lift himself up to stand.
I'm undecided whether to buy the Beco carrier, quite expensive, $180, i already got a Bjorn but its straining on my back. I wonder at what age babies usually outgrow carriers. My stroller can only make him sit 10min? Then he wants to be carried throughout.
Faaa: I've just changed back to normal Nan 2 as the Ha really makes her poo many times a day and is always messy. Hope the normal Nan 2 will be better. The poo is not so watery as compared to ha milk. Hope it suits her.
FAAA: i'm thinking of getting Beco, i tried my fren's and its good support at waist, not straining on back. Plus it can carry many positions -- front (face inward/outward), back, side.
Hey mummies which type and brand of thermometer are you using? I know Bruan ear thermometer is popular but my pd says for ear thermometer is not so accurate will need to take 3 times then take the average reading. Most accurate is the normal armpit type. I find that it's taking too long would prefer something quicker and accurate. What's your view?
Shd not go wrong with a Braun thermometer. I tried armpit but somehow those thermometers are not so accurate too. And for the ear I also take abt 2-3x and I do both ears too
My pd says after baby 3mths (if I remember correctly), can use scan thermometer cos their ear thingy developed and hence more accurate. But no harm take 3x since sometimes baby keeps moving.
FAAA: the trip to Aussie is tiring but good! My boy now still keep asking to take the Thomas train ( puffing Billy)! However, he would ask to go home almost every night.
Good thing is I didn't gain weight there! Still the same and visceral fat maintain too! Now that I'm in HK I'm more worried. Cos already went dim sum for 3 consecutive days!
Phyllis: Braun is accurate, I had CADI as a gift but its not accurate. So I always got to guess!
Sardonyx: I bought fitflop for adult from metro, spree and gmarket (now Qoo10) before, all feels quite the same. And they are all comfortable
