(2010/05) May 2010 mtb

Mrs N I was thinking the same about the toilet seat being easier as I'm lazy to wash the potty!

Pringles_jemYeah, very thankful to have the opportunity to be a sahm.

Happy New Year, Mothers!!! Wow, I can see so many agressive mothers here to have potty training, this reminds me that I also need to start soon.

Having maid is additional problem if her family have problem. Mine one always asked for advance salary.

Hi Hi Hi,

Its been a long long time since i posted... I tried to read but cldnt catch up on each n every post. Guess all of us r having an extremely hard time with our mobile babies.

Any babies like trying to walk without support? My mum n MIL keep saying my bb hasn't started to show any signs of walking. But he does stand with any kind of support. Im not sure wht r they expecting. Sigh. Sumtimes, I just want the bb to learn things when he is ready, but external stress comes by n stesses me out most times.

RE: Teething

My babys top 2 n bottom 2 did not have much problem. But the top 5th n 6th was tough. I remember him crying a few times during the nite. PD allowed me to give him some paracetomol to ease the pain and allow him to sleep thru. Now its btr.

RE: Baby during change of diapers

Thank god I found this forum. I used to think wht happ to my baby and why does he go wild during diaper change. I even got depressed many times thinking Ive got a a really difficult one to handle. I must say, huge sigh of relief tht everyone is gng thru the same thing. Not tht Im happy everyone is suffering, Im rest assured now, this is a phase!

RE: Potty training

Im impressed with all the mummies. Im a SAHM n have no idea where or how to start bb on potty training. Looks like gotta a long way to go. My bb dunt have a specific time for poo at all. Its like diff times of the day, sometimes once, sumtimes 3 times. So guess Its gng to b real difficult to catch tht poo poo.

RE: 1st bday celebration

I wld be confirming the venue real soon. So quite excited abt the whole thing. Im finding a good affordable photographer for the event. I also need entertainment(ballonist, or clown) and of coz Cake! As for entertainment n deco I guess more or less i narrowed down, but of oz if u guys know of any good one do let me know.

For cake, guess the 3D thingy is in now..and also more or less narrowed down to this - http://www.hotfuchsiacakes.com/index.html

So guys if u know any photographer(of coz with a portfolio preferbly) and a kids entertainment co, let me know k. Thanks.I want to get these preps over n done with.

Hi Mommies, got quite awhile not in this forum le.

Potty train: got hand-me-down potty and seat cover.. But haven't like her try yet.

1st birthday: gonna be a small simple home celebration with few good friends.

Drinking water: my IFC normally will feed her 4x a day bcos of solid food. Ard 100-150ml in total. Back home will on off feed her with her mag mag straw bottle. Initially she only bite the straw.. Then after few tries, she okie and luv drinking with straw.

My girl jus switch infant class for a week.. And she has been crying when we left her there and when we fetch her back. If it's her old teachers received her, she's still okie.. But when we go fetch her home.. Once she saw us, she will break into tears. Dunno when can she get over it.

Now the new class feeding schedule is as follows:

9am-200ml of oats porridge

12pm-300ml of porridge with side dishes

2pm-100ml of fruits

3pm- 100ml of tea snacks

4pm- milk feed.

But how can the bb still drink milk after 3 solid feeds in 3hrs? My girl after the 3pm feed will fall asleep and have her milk feed at 6pm only. But the teachers said all the rest of bb can do so.. After 4pm milk feed will fall asleep.

SOS!! Super bad diaper rash on bb!!

Changed from drapolene to a different cream by smith and nephew..I wish to let the new cream kick in, but I'm still doubtful as bb is in tears during his bath..[IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]

I'll air his bottoms tmr and continue to use this new cream for the next 2 or so days.. and go to a doc if there's no improvement.

Any mommies with remedies to this? poor bb bum looks like blisters or 'wounds' that smart with water.

Dear mummies,

I am from 2010 Nov mtb.

I need a favor from mummies who expressed and has excess ebm to give away.

Im going for an intestine operation in March and I have been latching my gal since then. I tried to express and latch but the expressed amount is very little.

I need at least 4 days supply of ebm so that my hubby can feed her when im in OT and I can only get out of bed on the 4th day (estimate).

Mummies, please help if you do have extra to give away.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Sheryl, if the rash doesnt get better with the normal diaper creams, gotta see doc cos my be fungal rash, will need special medicated cream from doc...that was what happened to my baby girl :p

Sheryl, yeap, destiny cream is very good.

If the rash is really bad, have to see pd asap.

There's 1 time my boy had very bad rush, we sent him to see pd and pd prescribed antibiotics (cream + liquid to apply).

Thanks mommies!! Aloe vera, desitin, PD!It maybe fungal or yeast infection. I'll monitor his bum today, and if it doesn't get any better, off to the pd tmr!

Hi Sheryl, if blisters have appeared, it means there's secondary infection on top of the regular diaper rash. By then barrier cream such as desitin or zinc oxide will not be enough. Barrier cream only provide a protective barrier between urine/ stool and yr baby's skin, but will not treat infection. If blisters or crust have appeared, or baby has fever or not feeding well, then better see GP or Pead soon.

I stopped using baby wipe ever since baby has her first diaper rash (unless we are out), and it has been good since.

Desitin is good, but there's once my girl got quite a bad rashes due to the antibiotic that she took.. So Pd gave a cream and to apply together with desitin.

By right if use desitin, nappy rash will get better in 1 day and recover on 2nd day.

Thanks pringles jem, he has circular patches. gonna go pd and get some cream[IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Hey Mummies

Happy Valentine's Day .

Just to get the ball rolling .... Are we starting to plan for our SMH May 2010 Birthday Bash cos it's less than 3 months away and we have yet to decide on the date and fix the venue . Think date will be most impt to make sure it doesn't clash with your individual celebrations

May I suggest 3 dates for ppl to vote and once we hit 15 votes for a date we just set on that cos that time there were about 40 mummies for the Xmas bash . I have selected 3 Sundays just in case some of you need to work Sat half days

And the 3 dates are ... 24 Apr , 15 May and 29 May

And the voting begins , you can vote for more than 1 date and I will manually compile

SMH May 2010 1st Birthday Bash

1. Michelle - 24 Apr , 15 May , 29 May

My girl has circular patches also.

At first I thought was fungal infection. Got fungal cream from PD.

But, now I realised that could be due to food allergy. After taking eggs, the circular patch will turn very red. fungal cream will not help much. For my girl, the redness will slowly fade after I apply mopiko ointment.

Hi Michelle,

Thanks for rolling the ball. Yippy. Looking forward for another big event.

SMH May 2010 1st Birthday Bash

1. Michelle - 24 Apr , 15 May , 29 May

2. Gladseow - 24 Apr , 15 May , 29 May

Yes, there are many causes for circular patches. But if the circular patches are restricted to the nappy rash area, then less likely to be food allergy. Think it will be weird for food allergic rash to be restricted to baby's butts/ genital area and not else where. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Oh yeah Birthday Bash! The SMH May 2010 Xmas Bash certainly looked fun. Will make sure baby and I join in the fun this time!

Thanks Michelle and CholeMum for your initiatives! Have updated the spreadsheet.

brought bb to trial class at GUG (suntec) yest... think he's still too young....

the bbs there are crying and crawling everywhere... amazed at how the teacher continued to teach lol....

Hi, I have updated the spreadsheet. Thanks Michelle and Chloemum. I can only confirm 1 adult at the moment.

Babygj, I have a far relative who sent her 15mth girl to GUG. She said her girl was running around and couldn't pay much attention in the beginning. But she is adapting well and liking it now.

Apparently, GUG also another popular choice like Shichida. Now I am contemplating which is more suitable and if I really want to send Lucas to the school when he turns 18months.

GUG = Growing Up Gifted

girls are better and i think 15 months should be ok as they can talk and walk already..

boys are more challenging wahahah

Babygj: Probably so... haaaa....

Anne Raj: Where others have you found? I didn't do much. Just hearsay more about these 2 schools.

Venue for bday: I sat down today to google for a good and affordable venue. Tanah Merah Bungalows are fully booked for all weekends. Aranda is too $$$$ for public! Is anyone Aranda Country Club member who can help me out? Hee... I have about 80-100pax. Mostly my mummy's request. And I have to take my friends out of the list. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif] VERY SAD.

Last resort, my own place.

LucasMummy:i have been looking ard for childcare centres actually. I have shortlisted Cherie hearts, Pat's Schoolhouse and MMI. All three places accessible to SK.

GUG is mainly for enrichments classes. Just found out the deatils.

http://www.gugifted.com/index.php?p=section&sub=article&articlegrppk=16

pringles: go to the website, all info tr except for charges:

Weekday classes:

Gifted babes 2 times a week is $592/term (per term consist of 8 sessions.)

Gifted Babes 3 times a week is $840/term

Weekend:

Parent & Babe $352/term

Yeah! I'm on time to sign up the 1yo bday party! [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif])

Anne_Raj, thanks for the link to the website but nothing beat a first hand account. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Anne: Wahaha.... No idea. Now that you mention that GUG is more enrichment, I probably will have to attend the class with him.

As for playgroup, either in the east or near SK. So that near to either grandparents to help in ferry duty. :D

Another school. Didnt really hear about it, but it's opened by a friend's friend whom I met a few times. They have one branch in Hougang.

http://www.blossomedugroup.com.sg/

I think Ethan is too young for the class. 1.5 hour lesson is also too long for him and the other babies who are older than him and they are already restless midway thru the class. Some of the parents have to carry their crying bbs at the back of the class and it gets quite noisy..

LucasMummy: thats the same predicament i face too. See how it goes.

Thanks Babybi.

But i think our babies are still young for such classes. give it from 12mths to 18mths...

Im shortlisting as you know some childcare can have long ques.

Just throwing up some ideas for activities/ games during the 1st Bday Bash . Pls add on [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

1. Crawling / Walking competition

2. Baby Soccer (allows daddies to get involved [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif])

3. Ball pit - anyone has the 100 balls Ball Pit at home and can bring ?

4. Tunnel Crawl - anyone has the Ikea Tunnel ?

I'll also call up some toy rental companies to see if they can provide a 1 day rental for bigger toy items like slides and all

Lucasmummy have you considered Rochester House? Saw photos of a friend of mine who had her son's birthday there. Looks like a very nice place for children's party. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Thanks Babygi! Ya, 9 mths old probably too young, baby won't even take instructions from me at this stage. :p Looks like I can still sit on my butts and not worry about classes at this stage. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]
