Any mummies gives baby milk plus cereal with milk bottle?
I heard it would make them feel full then bb wun wake up easily at nite if given for last feed.
What methods u all use to enlarge the teat hole?
My hubby tried to cut, but quite large then find that bb cannot drink properly.
Any one can share? Thanks!!
 
Jesline, I never tried putting cereal w milk in bottle. I feed with bowl and spoon.

If u need a teat with bigger hole, maybe can try the avert variable teat. It comes precut.

i have started cooking frog's leg porridge for my bb and my bb loves it. it's juz another kind of meat for bb. should be ok since our bb can eat most meat now.

what kind of cereal can we feed our baby now?

Help! I'm having bad engorgement! Even pumping can't relieve. How? I'm so lost.. Last time pumping solves the prob. Can't latch cuz pain factor x 2.. I rem last time you'll talk about this massage lady? Can't rem who.. Can she help? Or should I call LC? Sobs sobs..

Jeanie, I called in private LC who came to my house last time when I had engorgement. more ex than those in TMC. $100 an hour.. But I didn't want to travel and troublesome to bring nn. u Let me know if you are interested. But the best way is to actually latch on although it's pain. Pumping is not as effective.
 
Yunzz, thanks for sharing! I myself loves frog legs but was just surprised so early baby can eat. Will let him try then. U give the meat too? Need to add anything like Ginger or herbs?

Mummies, other than bel cube cheese, can give those triangle laughing cow cheese pieces? Also normal kraft sliced cheese ok too?

Any mummies give veg sticks for them to crunch? Wat veg is suitable?

Whenever we have gathering, my friends kid who just turned one loves to crunch on carrot and cucumber sticks which the host prepares for dips.
See the way he holds and munch really makes them look tasty! Yes he eats his vege raw!
But i haven tried on my girl yet. Hehe
 
yes jeanie, i think latching is the best solution to engorgement.. somehow dunno why the bb can clear the blocked ducts so well..

btw, i remembered someone mentioned when latching, let ur bb's chin face the blockage part to clear the ducts..
 
Jesline, thanks! Ya, referring to veg. Raw veg sticks can give bb? I Thot of giving boiled carrot stick but worried whether will b choking hazard. Am thinking of broccoli too

Hi GG,
I feel carrot sticks and cucumber sticks (raw or cooked) are safe as long as they eat with adult supervision.
As for broccoli,not sure if suitable to let baby hold a piece of boiled broccoli to munch.
i guess, they might 'pui' out cos dunno how to deal with the broccoli's texture. But if mixed into porridge, they wouldnt know.

Lsntyl, thanks. My mil says is v nutritious, maybe will try but not too often.

Wat other food do u all give? Veg I so far only give brocoli, spinach, yin choy, potato, pumpkin,sweet potato. Wat else can they take?

Meat I give fish, pork, chicken. Are they too young for beef?
 
gg, most veg can take..

anyway, i thought when they hit one year old, they can eat everything that we eat but minus the seasoning.

yunzz, yes.. i also wanna find out what other cereal our kids can take now.
 
May, your bb eat rice already? I still cook bb food separately, he still taking brown rice porridge w meat and those vegs.

Cereal I am still using those Bellamy/Organix/ Healthy times organic cereals. May start to let him try cornflakes too, buy not those sugary cereals.
 
GG - I let my boy eat beef minced and beef stew stock before...when he was less than 1 yr old...so i guess shld be ok...so far, have not let him try chicken yet...
 
gg, he is eating rice with soup. he loves herbal soup and he doesn't really like porridge. he takes fish, chicken, pork ribs and beef slices. depends on what we cook for ourselves, he will have a share too. he eats more when we eat the same as him.

when do we stop those cereals? is cornflakes a replacement food for the cereals?
 
Wow, some of ur bbs v advanced eaters already! Beef stew and herbal soups! May, wat herbal soups u give? I ever tried put wolfberry he got a bit rashes.
 
Any mummies have problem with baby sucking thumb?? I need ideas how to make him stop. Is getting very bad, thumb skin cracking. Is there any tricks or device in the market to wean them off from thumb sucking?? Thanks.
 
GG, Raelynn is also a thumb sucker. PD advised us to let her wear long socks (or legwarmers) over both arms so we tried that for a few months. Situation better but still not weaned off maybe because she can't use her fingers to hold toys or balance so at day times we take it off. Plus now she has learn to pull off the socks herself. :p
 
Thanks mummies for advise. That night engorgement was so bad that I went to see GP. He only give me panadol and ask me pump out. I use cold towel to soothe first then pump. Relieve a bit and called mdm Rokiah. She cleared my blocked ducts and engorgement. Apparently I didn't wean off Keith properly and it's stuck inside for so long!

I can't latch due to bleeding nipples as each suck sends painful shivers to me. And worst of all, I had red angry itchy rash on my nipples, aroela and breast. Can't apply those steroids cream. Now apply powder but can't seem to help much..

GG &amp; Pauline : I always pull out bb Kiren's thumb and give him a teether when i see him sucking it. He seldom sucks his thumb these days.

Ladies i have question :- Not too sure whether i'm pregnant or not.

I am very puzzled now. My mense is always late, and it is late for this month again. About 12 days late now. Both hubby &amp; I think that i'm pregnant but it showed negative when i used clearblue pregnant kit last weekend. I have most of the pregnancy signs eg sleepy, tired, bodyache, boob kinda sensitive, peeing more often @ night, always hungry, can't sleep, and feel like vomitting etc.
And most importantly, i can see of breastmilk coming out of nipples when i press them!
So am i pregnant? I thought of testing again but scare of disappointment. Can i ask if i have stopped breastfeeding when bb kiren is 7mth, will i still produce milk 8mths later? Please advise. Thanks.
 
gg, so far i give 'liu wei' soup and paosheng chicken soup. as to what type of herbs tt go inside, i dun really know their names. i get the herbs from my mom's fridge. all i know is the former uses 6 types of herbs and the latter uses 9 types. so if your child is easily allergic, maybe not so good to try?

canopy, how abt testing 2 weeks later? maybe the blood count is insufficient in the early stages to confirm the pregnancy. even at 4weeks,it's also very faint (if u use the test kit with the line)
 
canopyhaze, my colleague still produced breastmilk a year after she stopped breastfeeding. but i guess tis really varies among individuals.

anyway, waiting for ur gd news...

Thanks for the tips. My boy is a stubborn thumb sucker. Scold, beat, plaster his finger all din work! Is getting v bad cos the skin on the thumb breaking and swelling. Yet he won't stop. V tempted to put chilli like old folks always say.

Mummies, pampers pull up pants on promo at shop and save. Their pampers diaper too. Just stocked up a lot. Watson Kodomo is back too at $2. Carted 3 boxes back.
 
Mtdt, heee... Watson Kodomo is a value deal, cold storage and ntuc all selling at 50% more exp! They also have buggies swim diaper 2 pc convenient pack. Also v good deal at $2! I find it handy for per swim trip

Mtdt, can stop using already? U mean your one year old just wear the swim wear? I use a one pc swim wear for sun protection, but still let him wear the swim diaper.
 
Lsntyl, yes, quite a good deal, think cheaper than buying the full pack. Plus I feel is convenient lor. But now Mtdt raise a valid point, actually for how long our kid need to wear swim diaper? Thinking how many I should stock up.
 
GG - hmm.. swim diaper mainly is to prevent poo in the pool (come on, they sure still pee one lah). by now our toddlers poo timing more or less we know the pattern right? so just take note and dun go if toddler has chance of pooing in the pool :p
 
Thanks, Mtdt! Guess will not stock too much. My mum say pretty soon can toilet train our toddler le! My boy poo time not v predictable still, happy happy he poo, and can be 2 or 3 times. So for now I still need swim diaper

Ladies, i am in tokyo now...love this place so much and going to Hakone tomorrow. Went crazy with the shopping here man cos so many places on sale :p and most items bought for the 2 kiddos at home. hahahaha...take care all of u!
