Btw I finally tested my freestyle last wkend…just need to ensure that the motor can run izit? No way to test whether got suction or not rite? Coz I put on my thigh and cant feel any suction leh…am I testing the set correctly??

but juz wondering if it's too early experience soreness ard the pelvic area at tis stage - 32-33wks.

augleo, i also prefer huggies dry (blue) and dry comfort (blue &amp; red) but they dun carry S in spore. yst hubby went JB and he told me JB has huggies dry S size so i ask him to buy 2 packets back. 1 pc is abt S$0.20.

i also dun wan to buy ex diapers for newborn cos they poo poo too many times a day.

me too when i use petpet and drypers for #1, he also jerk cos of the loud sticker sound. haha...

to save cost loh, NB tends to poo many times in a day esp. those on b.feeding.
if they can poo all at 1 shot still oki, i rmbr i change Pamper diapers 4 pcs within 10 mins. thot he has done his biz but still hv....1st time mum is like that loh.
now, must do some saving

wow.. got to know so many diff diapers today. "Diapers education!".. now im a bit lost which disposable diaper to get for baby. I was looking at huggies new born...or i shd get a packet of nappy cloths to standby also.

Otherwise i will just get from Kiddy palace - im also comfortable with getting the single pump unit, as long as i can run the pump using either on battery and electricity capacity.

if u intend to let ur nb wear nappy cloths instead of diapers, doubts 1 pkt is enuff.

just to share : nappy cloths can b handy too.
aft CL left, i use diapers. Nappy cloths can b use to dry bb's bottom. Easy to dry unlike towels. when my boy older n ready for toilet train = i use nappy cloth again.

Fitti Premium is not sticker type, its the velcro kind. Very good as well. My girl has been using it for 1 year. The normal Fitti one then is sticker.

valkyriegal, sure! i ve dropped them an email.. with the dropping us$ exchange rate, tink can get it at S$455 - S$460 le... hmm, tink u might want to do some research on breastpumps before getting 1 from kiddy palace and end up wasting $100plus.. ive got friends who bought medela mini electric and also ameda lactaline dual pumps, either end up sore nipples or complain suction not strong enuff...if not, maybe borrow from friends first to try? Last time i was using PISA and its good! but after few mths, suction like become weaker...n pump became noisier..

I will say PISA is very good as a few mummies here have used it before and all say good.. however its noisy n heavy.. so we switching to freestyle but duno good or not cause never use before... will be good to invest in dual electric pumps if not pump till hand pain and more time consuming.. ameda lactaline dual pump is also not bad...can get BN set with warranty abt S$350..

Hi mummies,

Thanks for all the well wishes. I will try to answer all your questions.

This is my 2nd boy. After delivery, baby and I stay in the hospital for 2 days as baby need to do all the test (hearing test, jaundice monitoring, BCG jab etc).

We were allowed to discharge on 2nd day after confirming that baby got no jaundice.

As for bathing, I did not bath in the hospital as I try to "tong" since I did not sweat at all. So still feeling clean and fresh. I only used tap water to wash up every morning.

Contraction Pain
The pain is like menses cramp. The cramp will come and go. When the pain comes more frequent and become more and more painful (for me is every 2-3mins) means you shld be in labour soon.

After delivery
Menses will come immediately after delivery. For me, my menses is heavy on the 1st day. The midwife will put 3 pads for you after delivery and all the 3 pads will be soiled. 2nd day is still manageable. Just 1 pad is enough. We will be provided 1 pack of maternity pad. For me, I used up all the pads for the 2 days. So for those mummies with heavy flow, you probably need to buy extra and pack into your bag.

Baby's Poo
Baby really poo alot. The 1st day when he is back at home, I think I change him almost 7 diapers a day. He can poo while you are still changing him or poo immediately after you change him.

Breast Milk
I did not express any milk in hospital. Been latching baby directly. When I am at home, I tried to pump for the 1st time, only manage to pump a pathetic of 20ml for 2 breasts. I also experience the same when I delivered my 1st boy. But after much latching and pumping, the colostrum will start to increase from 3rd day onwards. So for 1st time mummies, dun be despair, just keep on pumping and latching. For now, I can pump 100-120ml milk from both breast after latching my boy. Our nipples will feel sore immediately after pumping. So if baby latch, you will feel pain and uncomfortable. Our nipples will also bleed after latching and pump.

Breast Pumps
I am using 2 types of pump. For the 1st few days, when breast milk are limited, I use manual pump as I can control the suction when I pump. (Will feel pain when engorged and milk is little)
When milk start to increase, I will use electric pump. Save time and pumping will be faster. Pumps used were Avent Manual Pump and Medela electric pump.

Re baby and mummy
When I was in 31 week, I am already 2cm dilation. Gynae gave me MC to rest at home and pills to relax cervix so that I will not deliver so soon as baby lungs are not fully develop.

I knew that I will deliver early but didn't know so early. I didn't have chance to choose baby name till now. hahaha...But will need to get the name real soon.

My baby is doing well. Thanks for all your concern. He is waking every 1-2 hours at night and ask for milk. I am becoming a zombie soon.

W.Joe, ya i have emailed and spoke to an MOM officer. They will not interfer as of now as the isn't really any conclusion yet. But if end of this mth i get my pay as a pt then i can bring te payslip to MOM to lodge a report. Then fr there they will investigate. I am advice to put in writing tat I do not agree to being convert to a part time basis and also I will not be tendering my resignation as what HR suggest.
