    April 2018 Mummies

No need to toast. For pregnancy you can try Mainland cheese, if you want something different from cheese slices - Edam, Gouda, Jarlsberg. http://www.fairprice.com.sg/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&productId=97826&urlRequestType=Base&catalogId=10051 For toddlers though...

Try harder cheeses like cheddar. Not the soft ones. Here's a list of foods that may have listeria (bacteria). https://www.foodsafety.gov/poisoning/causes/bacteriaviruses/listeria/index.html

What kinds of food and drinks i can take during my 1st Trimster

Just about after 8 weeks - when your baby is officially a fetus - is when s/he starts absorbing nutrients from you. Fish is generally discouraged because of cooking practices. Raw seafood may contain listeria. As long as your fish is cooked all the way, e.g. home cooking, it will be fine...

    Inner Thigh Pain

I get pains at the back of my left thigh, from kneecap to base of bum. Most people have said it may be a posture problem, or standing awkwardly to accommodate the additional weight. Only thing that has worked for me so far is plenty of stretching and changing my posture every so often.

    Recurring yeast infection

You may also want to try a sugar free diet. Sugar especially hidden sugars in processed foods, e.g. fruit juice drinks, cookies, can also exacerbate your problems. https://www.thecandidadiet.com/foodstoavoid.htm

To working mummies: how do you go to work?

When I was at 14 weeks, my belly was still too small and like all the above replies, everyone act blur. I find taking the bus easier than MRT. Most days I'll try to wake a little earlier so I can have a quiet ride to work. It takes about 40 mins for me. On particularly harder days, I will just...

Anyone goes to prenatal yoga classes?

I've tried Mother and Child at Tanglin. Class prices are quite affordable and you can learn some good techniques to breathe and move which helps as your belly gets bigger.

    Feb 2018 mummies to be

Yes. It really helps to loosen up tight and aching muscles. Also helps with the water retention if any mummies are starting to get swollen feet/legs. You'll be massaged lying on your side, and the middle/lower back is avoided where the baby is, so while not as shiok as a regular massage, better...

    April 2018 Mummies

Mine was measured at week 8 and 12. During your scan with your gynae, or if subsidised with the medical officer, just ask how large in cm your baby is. The technical term for it is Crown-to-Rump. (Not mine - just a Google pic) This is what the ultrasound print out will have, a dotted line...

    April 2018 Mummies

Me too. Subsidised in NUH. My first EDD was also calculated as March from LMP date (last menstrual period). My EDD was also pushed to April, after the doctor measured the fetus, head to feet, in the scan. The scanner will show the date according to how large in cm your child is.

Last I read on the nuh website, not their gynae site - it's 22 and 32 weeks. https://www.nuh.com.sg/events-and-health-information/packages/oandg-packages.html

Hoping for advice re waterbirth/EMMACare at NUH

Thanks for the reply! I will check out Emma care then. I think the differences are: The subsidised mums go to Clinic G, and do not have a regular gynae to consult; is whoever is on rotation for that day. If you are a private patient, you consult at their Women's Clinic and choose your gynae...

Hoping for advice re waterbirth/EMMACare at NUH

So confused over NUH's website - Any mothers out there who has given birth at NUH: was EmmaCare involved and do I have to get a doula on top of an EmmaCare midwife too? I am a subsidised patient. From what I read, it seems like I have to switch to a private patient. Can this be done past 30+...

    April 2018 Mummies

I think out of all the problems we have, it's having to learn how to stay calm through every new thing, symptom, news that happens. You can try some guided meditation - find on youtube. It will be helpful because you will have a healthy coping mechanism to keep calm in a panic situation. And...
