Yes, I switched to Dr Tan after failing my first 2 cycles at KK. I also saw another doctor before choosing Dr Tan. I feel it's good to shortlist some public/private doctors and decide, if you want to leave KK. Chemistry between patient and Dr is important because you have to trust your Dr. At...

Hi Ally, I scanned through your blog. I had 2 failed IVF cycles at KKH (2 retrievals & 2 transfers - 1 fresh, 1 frozen). I succeeded on my 3rd cycle under Dr Tan HH who was then with Alpha. I noted you did the 2 cycles back to back. Just to share, I took a 6 month break between 2nd and 3rd...

My total cost for retrieval and frozen embryo transfer at Alpha was about 21K before Medisave deduction. The cost depends on the medication used and dosage.

    CARE IVF

Search "CARE IVF Paragon". If its the same clinic, they used to be at Paragon for a long time under Dr Psul Tseng. Or you could just do a search under Paul Tseng as he's quite established. I didn't do IVF under this doctor or clinic but I've searched posts about private clinics in the past and...

I also will highly recommend Dr Tan HH and Alpha. I failed 2x IVF cycles at KK but succeeded in the first cycle at Alpha. Dr Tan delivered my baby in Feb this year. He is very patient and knowledgeable. He didn't mind if I had questions and I didn't feel rushed at each appointment. Hope it will...

    Stopping Lactation with dostinex

Sharing with you my experience with dostinex - it took about 1 week for the engorged feeling to stop. However my breasts only felt back to normal after 2 weeks. Any lumps that occur with the engorgement will also disappear after 2-3 weeks, from my experience. So you don't need to worry about new...

I'm about to face this issue too. I am 39 years old this year, now 34 weeks pregnant with a singleton after going through 3 cycles. I still have 5 blastocysts balance from my 3rd cycle, including one more 4AA grade. But my husband is very firm about having 1 child only. He is older than me, 50...

    Dr Tan Heng Hao

Yes my transfer at Alpha was frozen. So in total I paid around 16.5k + 5-6k.

    Dr Tan Heng Hao

My total cost at Alpha up to retrieval was about 16.5K. My medicated frozen cycle was around 5-6K in total. But I had 13 days of stim drugs which is considered long. I also paid extra for embryoscope and sedation during transfer. So all these increased the cost.

All the best for your FET! 5AB is a good grade. My blastocysts also had better grading at Alpha compared to KKH. I feel their lab is really better and of course Dr Tan's protocol too.

    Dr Tan Heng Hao

I did succeed with Dr Tan when I'm aged 38 at retrieval after failing 2x elsewhere due to poor embryo quality. I believe his protocols are customised depending on individual. Its no harm to make an appointment with him to see what he thinks on your situation. You can also try to improve our own...

I had hcg injections (pregnyl) after my fresh and frozen transfers at KKH too, without any other type of medication. But for my case it was because I asked my KK doctor (Dr Jessie) for an alternative to crinone, so she suggested the jabs. According to her, hcg will encourage your body to produce...

    IVF Mummies 2022

Congrats ladies.. 5 weeks is still very early for symptoms. I also had some aches at left side in early weeks which my gynae said is normal. Until now I do get mild cramps on left sometimes. All the best for your first ultrasound. I'm also an IVF mummy due in 2022 but 18 weeks now. :)

    Private vs Subsidised Patient Rate

For me I was at KK. Although I was a private patient, KK has a "Team based" system where you will see different doctors at each appointment date once IVF stimms start. I only saw my doctor before IVF during the pre-tests, and at ER and ET. I am not sure about SGH but I heard that NUH patients...

    Private vs Subsidised Patient Rate

If you and your husband are SG citizens, you can get up to 75% government subsidy for IVF cycles at public hospitals, on top of Medisave claim. The subsidies apply to first 3 fresh cycles at public and first 3 frozen cycles at public. The subsidy for first 3 fresh IVF cycles is $7.7k, and first...

My retrieval cost before Medisave deduction was around 16k in total. The cost depends on the dosage and number of days of stimulation jabs. My frozen transfer was about 5k.

Yes he does see patients on Saturdays. There is a Saturday surcharge if we make the appointment on a Saturday (but not if your stim/ultrasound review happens to fall on a Sat during the cycles). Hope this makes sense. I don't know what is the Sat surcharge sorry.
