IVF/ICSI Support Group

Hi, i am being recommended to see Dr. Yeong on next week from IUI/IVF consultant.
Would like to check in here and see if there are any success story/feedbacks can share with me? Appreciated.
Also is there any point to take note before seeing Dr. Yeong from Tow Yung Clinic?

Hi Ladies,
This is not my very 1st post already. But I just want to share for those might be going through the same journey as me.
Let get started, I'm have gone through the same as most ladies out there, went through rounds of iuis, IVFs, FETs.

Last year this period November, I went through my 3rd rounds of ivf at NUH. Again, During the scanning, only few follicles detected. N I'm rather disappointed as i was told about 4 follicles only, getting lesser n lesser each time. ER that day was told that they have retrieved 7 eggs, more than we expected so we r happy. But happiness don't last long, next day received call from embryologist. Out of 7 eggs, only 2 are matured. N only 1 is fertilised, suddenly feel like lightning strike on me. So the next few days feel like a nightmare for us, praying hard my 1 and only embryo survive. Especially during the 3rd day fall on sat, we waited almost the whole day for the embryologist to call, finally about 3 plus they called n told us ours is a good quality 8 cell embryo n they will proceed to freeze. God bless, my one n only embryo survive.

The next appt Prof Wong asked us when we want to proceed for our FET, I told him I wanted to rest about 2 to 3 months later then proceed for FET. Who knows, the following month after my ER I was pregnant naturally but ended up miscarriage at week 10.

N few weeks ago I finally went through my 2nd FET with my only 3rd day embryo, I didn't pin much hope as mine is not a blastocyst. So my BT result out, is a positive but when I saw the hcg result was quite disappointed. So when Prof Wong congrats us, I told him I saw my hcg level quite low, I told Prof it will be a chemical Pregancy again right. Prof Wong give me a stern look n said who told u that, n give me lots of encouragement, as long as my hcg went up, we don't give up hope, which boost my confidence. N today i went for my 2nd blood test, my hcg is doubling up, n is officially BFP! Even though is still a long journey till the day we hold the little one in our arm. Then we can successfully tell ourselves we made it.

I just want to tell ladies out there that are same as me, even if we don't have lots of embryo or blastocyst, there are hope to see positive too. JIA YOU!

You are not alone! Many of us here are like that. I get really mad when I see all that child abuse, babies thrown down the rubbish chute..

My experience with Singapore doctors - too many trial and error, I highly suggest you question the doctor you are seeing - ask about the protocol designed for you, ask why this certain drug, how are the success rates of patients you use this drug on etc. My husband really drilled our previous specialists and they couldn’t answer (senior person with many years of experience apparently). The problem with us Singaporeans, we don’t ask because we think that the doctors should know everything. However, I’ve been reading so many cases in Singapore and my confidence level has actually fallen greatly (except for Dr Tan Heng Hao).

I am currently doing my IVF in the United States (lucky cuz we work here and the difference is huge); everything is explained and justified. My IUI in Singapore gave me headaches that felt like my head will explode (living on the bed with paracetamol daily). I just completed my IVF cycle (2ww) and never felt so energetic. We have 4 grade AA blastocyst and 1 grade BB blastocyst. My doctor focused on quality over quantity - she had me triggered with only 7 potential eggs.

You might want to check out your lifestyle/diet. I believe the changes I took helped me in gaining high quality eggs and improving hubby’s sperm by leaps and bounds. I documented it here:https://eggsofrainbow.wordpress.com/
how is your TWW? good news? all the best

I had my FET review on CD 8. Biggest follicle at 10-11mm and lining only at 2.6mm. Doctor shared that its common for lining to be thin given the follicle is small now. Wondering if anyone had the same encounter. 2.6mm seems so thin for day 8 :(

hi everyone,

My wife had went through the IVF transfer early november and the HCG level after 14days of transfer is 182. The 2nd test after 21 days had went up to 1400+. We are scheduled to go for the ultrascan for the heartbeat next week but the doctor has requested for another round of HCG test before the ultrascan.

I had read up and it seems like the HCG level is low (1400) after 21days and also know that seldom Doctor will ask for the 3rd test.

Does anyone has simliar experience and it turn up good that it is a positive result?

We are concern about the HCG level and the additional test.

Thank you.

My experience was different though. I was straightaway scheduled for my first scan 2 weeks later after my beta. I read few post where some had to take blood test for every visit. Hmmm should I be concerned as well? I'm with NUH btw. Not sure if other hospitals have different protocols

For our previous transfer, we had blood test on the 14 days, 21days and scan on the 28th day. Now there is an additional test on 23rd day which make us feel very nervous as the HCG level is low.

The nurse does not want to reveal too much. Just said instruction from doctor......

Actually after BFP I think no need to worry about the numbers. Probably the dr just wanna test again for no special reasons..

If I rem correctly ur wife succeeded previous round right? Congrats on ur number 2.

Ur wife is under which dr?

We just went for our 3rd test within 48hours of the last test (1400+) . The result is 1800+. The HCG did not double but it is increasing gradually.......Does anyone has simliar experience?

Hi, both our transfers were performed by Dr. Roland. We find that he is result orientated and confident. But he does not do delivery. We went to see Dr. Stephen Chew for delivery.

Hihi..anyone doing natural fet in kkh recently ..i wanna know what is the procedure of natural fet in kkh..

I rem i did in2018 natural fet; the nurses only ask me to check for ovulation via ovulation test kit..there is no ultrasound scan to check follicle size.. am i right?? Or i rem wrongly?.

Anyone can advise me..TIA

Hi Frankie
just to share my experience, somehow similar. I'm trying for second kid too. I transfer two embryo at SGH. first BT is 152, one week later the HCG is 1880, the doctor got me to do another round of bt again and third one is 5800, i did a scan at the second HCG and did manage to see heartbeat. but when the third hcg came back at 5800, increasing but not double every 48 hrs, i knew something was not right. I was already looking forward to discharge from SGH Ivf centre after my third bt. the doctor ask me to come back one week later for scan again. true enough, baby not growing at all and heartbeat drop. so ya I think HCG is very accurate. but sometimes the unexpected happens! or if not you can request for the ultrasound to see baby and heartbeat, will be more assuring!

I’m on d12p5dt and 2 days later will be my blood test. However I’m experiencing spotting now brown red when wipe and on a liner. My menses is supposed to be due ytd. Use the watson kit to check ytd is negative. Is this my menses or implantation bleeding? Cos day 12 seems very late for implantation to happen.

Hi, i did a natural fet in kkh in October. I was asked to go for my first scanning in CD8. Then i went back for scanning every 2 days until confirm i’m ovulating. Every trip down to kkh includes ovulation test and ultrasound scan to check the follicle size.

Yeah day 12 is too late to be implantation bleeding.. Blood test is still the most accurate. Continue your meds till blood test

both of my fails are like this. I also started with spotting before bleeding heavily on 13d or 14d. both ended up in chemical. but brown usually is old blood leaving the uterus, spotting is also common during BFP. do wait for the BT for more accuracy! think positive and good luck!

Thank u dear! My normal menses also begin with spotting for few days then AF. Already mentally accepted the failed cycle but will continue frozen next after a small break. Baby dust to u too if u r trying now!

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I log on to the forum.

Had a failed IVF ( all 4 oocytes failed to fertilise - disintegrated upon ICSI) in Oct last year. Wanted to do IVF in Feb 2020 but CoVid happened. In Mar, got pregnant naturally for the first time in 38 years! Unfortunately resulted in ectopic pregnancy.

Did IVF cycle in Nov, only 5 oocytes retrieved, 2 failed to mature, out of 3 matured, 1 failed to fertilise, out of 2 fertilised embryos, one was a "giant embryo" which apparently had extra chromosomes. So left with 1 very good embryo which was "growing beautifully".

Day 3 post ER, embryo was 10 cells, on its way to blastocyst so we did a ET. Everything went smoothly and now I am on my tww.

We have never gotten this far in IVF before and so I am trying to be calm, and stress free (so hard!). I am given Endometrin 200mg vaginal inserts × 3 times daily. Biweekly, I have to inject Proluton 250mg in my butt.

With all these progesterone, I have backache, tender breasts, sensitive nipples and so hormonal

I have always worn socks to sleep, especially after the first pregnancy and today have given up coffee (I'm an addict!) Plus trying to eat clean.

Anyone else going for the tww?

Can I ask why need to inject Proluton 250mg in the butt? I only asked to take vaginal inserts x 3 times a day and oral progynova x 2 times a day.

The symptoms are totally normal because of the progesterone pills. It is too early to feel any symptoms actually. But good luck!

Hi ladies, is it possible to ovulate but not detect smiley face on clearblue OPK? I have this issue about twice so far this year... other months can detect the smiley face... does it mean 2 months didn’t ovulate? Thank you

Hihi, can i check anyone taking the Cheong Kwan Jang red ginseng with pomegranate to help with the lining during IVF? instead of taking those pokka pomegranate juice (i think is too sweet).
