Hi, I'm new here. My husband and me been trying for about 3 years+ but it always no news. Recently get to know there is some co fund for IVF. And private gynae was recommend us to do either IUI or IVF. Due to my husband work, I dont think IUI may work. Although it more natural as need to check when I ovulate too. So we decided to try IVF. Mostly people is either go for KKH or NUH for IVF. but cant decide which hospital to go. Colleague want me to try NUH PC Wong, but I heard he now semi retirement. Just afraid by the time the process, will not done by him. So any recommended for which hospital to choose? NUH or KKH?

Dr sadhana in KKH is good.... she’s strict and scary sometimes but very motherly and professional.... most of the time she’s very nice.... she’s very honest but not insensitive.. and very senior.... can try.

I was referred from my then gynae at KKH - was private.... if you go by polyclinic it’s subsidized, much cheaper but you can choose your doctor and waiting times will be longer.... so I Guess depends on your priorities and comfort-level

Oh.. I can try to call KKH and check the appointment date. Normally how long will you take before you start your IVF process?

Depends... on your health, Husband, doctor and slots avail...... only know after all your tests and what your doc feels is best for you... can be as fast as your next 2 cycle of menses

Just wanted to share, I actually did 2 iui which failed. My initial gynae only did simple SA (she only wanted to earn $$). after I changed to ivf specialist, who sent us for detailed SA, it was identified that iui would not have worked for us.. Now in the midst of cycle, going for fet nex t month

I'm with prof ng and highly recommend. he's the father of ivf treatment in Asia, delivered the first ivf baby here.

Prof ng is from public hospital or private hospital? I was tot of trying iui at first. But iui seem like slow and cant commit the time for my husband due to his work. And ivf got co fund that why I would like to give it a try. But I didnt know the test not inclusive in the ivf...

Private clinic. Iui and ivf should be similar time frames, all can be done within a cycle. But you're right on the timing. Just take note that regardless iui or ivf, your hubby still needs to be there.. hospitals here do not freeze unfertilised eggs.

For me, did simulated iui so the process v similar. Medication/injections to help with egg growth. Then one trigger shot to induce ovulation. The only difference is number of injections (more for ivf) and blood work for ivf. Both required similar number of visit to Dr, scans (about 2-3 before procedure)

For iui - had about 2-3 eggs each round. Ivf - had >10 retrieved.

i decided to go thru NUH as back then (2017) KKH had a waiting list so i went with NUH under Prof PC Wong. not sure if KKH still have a waiting list process now. but the good thing about NUH is scan and review done by the doctor then go up to CHR do blood test/collect meds if necessary. i used to be in and out in 30 mins. i heard KKH can be quite slow, hopefully they have sped up the process now. good luck to you!

and oh my! is it true prof is semi-retired now??? was hoping to do my next fresh with him!

Ahhh... I just cant decide which hospital to go. People recommend me nuh for prof PC wong. And kkh for dr sadhana. Today kkh called me said if go thru polyclinic need about 5weeks. If go thru private will take about 1 week to see dr sadhana. I just worry about what if halfway prof PC wong retired before I done everything. Haha.. I can't make up my mind. Lol

Eh... is for pregnancy or ivf? But u really have alot of choices. Haha. Dont choose new doctor? Choose some experience doctor? So you opt out a few already. Haha.. actually I want to try out prof PC wong. But due to his semi retirement.. really make me worry haven get the chance to see him. He retire already. Haha .

Prof PC Wong isn’t semi retired, he attend a lot of fertility conferences around the world, also he participates in scientific work, new researches. Nurse told me that normally he takes 5 patients per day if he’s around, if any conference is Sg, then only 1 or none. Actually CHR clinic have his schedule for the next half year, you can take photo and try to fit into it.

Maybe do some research for those recommended then pick which 1 better loh.. actually I prefer Male doctor than female doctor.. dunno why..

I was always adamant to have a female gynae even when I was single and saw gynae for regular stuff.... the thought of a man staring at my va-j-j was just unfathomable... but in the last year, the amount of times I’ve had to (don’t mean to sound crude) Open My Legs, for males to check me there....... I’ve also grown to realise it’s true........ Male gynaes are much more gentle.... just in my opinion

Because Male will never know the feeling how female feel. Female will know. Just like e.g. menses, some people menses cramp no problem.. some feel super painful. For the 1 no problem will say. Stomach cramp only. What the big deal. Haha..
