Hi mummies and mummies-to-be,

May i know what are your reviews of Dr John Yam from Acufem Women's Specialist Services? The reviews that i came across online were positive but i note those were a couple of years ago.. does anyone has a more recent encounter with Dr Yam? TIA!

Hi Valerian.

I'm with Dr John Yam now and I can say he is indeed very gentle and patient.
Takes time to explain things to you and very reassuring as well.

Only downside is he does not take nice fetal scan pics lol but we engage him not for his photography skills anyway

Hi!

Delivered my baby early this year by him. Best stitching skills, hardly feel any pain. Very very patient and doesn't tell you unnecessary things to stress you and the baby. You can contact him at odd timing with any questions/concerns about the baby, or if you're feeling unwell and he will reply almost instantly.

I told him at labour ward I'll definitely find him again if I'm going to have another baby. :p

Hi @seashell123 and @yanyan.l , thanks so much for your comments! Great to know that he is a recommended gynae.

For @yanyan.l , did you opt for natural or c-sect? On contacting him, may i know if it will be through the clinic or does he provide you with his mobile no? :)

@Valerian , I opted for natural without epidural. :) He will give you his opinion whether to induce/c section/natural depending on your health and baby condition. But he will respect your ultimate decision on what you wish to do.
There is an email address on the appointment card (if you choose to go for him). You can email him there and trust me, he will definitely answer your worries even at odd timing. I had done it a few times until I feel embarrassed about it. :p
Even after I've delivered my baby and fell sick, I emailed him and asked whether some medications are safe for breastfeeding he will still replied me too. :)

Hi @Valerian. My pleasure. He is one good gynae, worth going to. But please do note his main practice is at Gleneagles, if you have other preferred hospital for your delivery, you may need to check with him if he will be able to deliver there.

Hi. We bought the package and that's about it. We didn't pay any fee before due date. Only pre registered ourselves at the hospital. :)

Ohhh. Thank you.
In GlenE after birth baby is FULL rooming in right?
You meant baby will be with you in the room? Yes and no.
Yes - they will push the baby to you from their nursery for breastfeedbre every 3 hours. They will put the baby with you longer in day time. As we will be more awake and having visitors etc.
No - Baby will be back to nursery after breastfeeding at night. So that we can get adequate rest at night. You can request to have baby with you in the room for the night if you wish too. But trust me - you will appreciate whatever rest you can get after you delivered the baby.

Nurses will come in pretty much every few hours to check on you, giving you medicatios. PD will come by early in the morning to update you on baby's health. Gynae will check on you early in the morning before his clinic opening time.

I know I hardly get any decent rest while the hubby was happily zzz away. :p

Hi!

I don't have the paper off hand atm. From my memory I remember his prenatal package is at $900+. You'll still need to pay for any additional tests, vaccinations, vitamins etc.

I have attached my final bill for you. I had natural birth without epidural. Stayed in 1 bedded.

Please let me know if you need more info. :)
