TTC - Trying to Conceive 2017

Found out recently i have retroverted (tilted) uterus. Hmm, does it affect fertility? Any tips?

Nope, doesn't affect fertility. Just slightly higher risk of miscarriage than normal and higher chance of preterm labour and c-sect..but not definite. :)

ahh ... my youth is over >.<

what ratio of red date to longan? I have longan meat that is almost black and also the usual brown dried longan.

Thanks for the tips.
Ya I did. Always painful first 2 days, but felt the cramps till 4th day this time. Painful since young.
could be endometriosis, but all my previous ultrasounds they never found anything.

I did hormone test recently, progesterone is ok but estrogen is high. Estrogen dominance causes fibroids which i have.
Hi grumpet
If you may have endo, pls dont take royal jelly, epo or ba zhen (i think it contains danggui). These will increase estrogen and promote growth.

You mentioned that your bbt is low in earlier posts? I had that too.. my tcm doc told me to take red date tea daily and red bean soup weekly. It is supposed to warm the womb and improve the lining for implantation.
For these drinks i dont add sugar as it isn't good for endo too.

Hi ladies just wondering.. anyone here ever tried Evening Primrose Oil before? Im starting chlomid as soon as AF arrives.. and planning to take with EPO.. some say it boost the chances of getting pregnant.. any ideas?
Thanks!

@grumpet
what happens if we have high estrogen ?

i have painful periods if i take cold drinks near my period. avoiding cold drinks few days before helps me. hope it works for u too.

@memy
i gave birth to my son despite having retroverted uterus ;) doc says might have chance to resolve itself after giving birth.

@AdoresLyfeAsItIs
i take EPO on and off. suppose to tone uterus after your period. i take a lot of supps =.=
no time become squeeze them all together.

TCM asked me not to take Evening primrose oil when TTC..

silly questions, what does red date longan tea do and how does it help w TTC? I had it after miscarriage only. Can u add ginger to it?

What abt ba zhen? how do u drink it, and what is it for?
Any specific time to drink ?

I'm guessing to bring body temp up. My LP temp is not very high 36.3/4 average and also want to reduce estrogen. Also super painful menses last AF that lasted few more days than usual.

Red Date Longan Tea to bu xue (nourish the body) and help in ttc. TCM ask me drink daily if possible. If heaty can pause 1-2 days or dont add longan. Can add ginger too.

I add dang sheng bu qi and brown sugar which is gd for womb too.

EPO supposed to balance out the hormones, so that ovulates consistently or along that line, also helps reduce period cramp. Not supposed to take during TTC eg D14 onward so i only take half of the month. The 2nd half switch to fish oil etc

Hi, have u tried taking EPO 1000mg per day? i started taking it few mths ago, & it helps reduce the cramp. U may wan try it :)

As for red dates & longan tea, taking it is said to increase iron in the blood, & also to have better sleep. I also tried it & found can sleep better :) Usually i boil around 10 dates + 2 longan on alternate days, don't take if feel heaty.

Hi Memy
Thanks for the info. iron and sleep? that's great.

I used to take EPO, tried many brands, didn't help much, maybe alittle only. I still take some irregularly, leftover my last big bottle.

I've read of women preggers w inverted uterus, but i don't know much abt it. All the best to u :)

oh i see, thanks. that's good info.
my bbt is just slightly low, LP . I think it's related to higher estrogen.

I've been off sugar , even fruits for more than 6 months now. Cut xenoestrogen and soy, but still high my estrogen... :(

@jayjayqueenie
high estrogen , if hormone imbalance can cause issues like fibroids, cysts, painful periods, etc.

I dont drink cold water much in general for many yrs. Didn't help much for me. only hugging hot water bottle eases the cramps. i took magnesium, seemed to helped at some point but seem not as effective now.
im taking alot of other supplements too for ttc.

er... no .
bump super hard and real injury??
but depends if cycle is super short or ovulate late 1 weekb4 period, possible to get pregnant. but will have luteal phase defect, implantation may not be successful.

haha...i am concern the actions i have done may have ruined my beanie implantation :p
i guess i worry a lot sometimes.
thanks for the info ;)

hey everyone...i have a feeling my body is not producing progesterone as much as it should. so am planning to go on salad diet :p

by randoming making a meal selecting from the list of progesterone boosting food :

sunflower seeds,
almonds,
hazelnuts
pumpkin seeds

tomato
brocolli
red / yellow / green pepper
romaine
egg yolk
walnut
chicken
canned light tuna

anyone wants to join me ?

salad is supposed to be eaten cold but my colleague just splash hot water over.
so the salad becomes warm.

also having some warm drink by the side.

helps to slim down too (i am plump) ;)

i guess everyone already know. soy products might aid in estrogen production. and it's "liang" too. i need to stay away from my fav soy drinks T.T

i have read that our body should have the right balance of estrogen and progesterone. i am not due with my specialist till about 1-2 months time. just trying my luck still :/

Hi there, welcome.
Do u have subclinical hypo- or hyper-thyroidism cos both are mentioned in yr post? u prob mean hypo and TPO antibody , not antibiotics?

Have u re-do your bloodtest after TCM? is it improving? Will be good to know.

i have borderline sub clinical hypo, cos had thyroid nodules and removed one side. I did managed to conceive but cannot sustain my pregnancy, thyroid level could be one of the possibility. only started meds after. still trying.

yes , as yahisaMai said, Levothyroxine is the standard western meds. (Glad to hear u managed to stabilised yr conditions, YajisaMai :)). I am also taking Lexothyroxine and TSH under 2 is good and optimal level of TSH for pregnancy is 1, cos the moment u are pregnant, baby will need yrs to support.

If u have high TPO, there could be autoimmune conditions like hashimoto, not sure if that's what u mean? if u have tried taking the standard levo thyroxine (T4), and don't get better ... there are alternatives like Armour thyroid, or combination of T3/T4 compound. very few doc in Sg prescrib. Need to find more progressive doc, and there are.

With thyroid or hormone related, it takes time to fine tune your levels, and finding a doctor that will work with u.

I recommend this book and hypothyroidmom.com website for info.
"Your Healthy Pregnancy with Thyroid Diseases"
by hypothyroidmom.com founder Dana Trentini and Mary Shomon .

hope this helps and baby dusts to u too!

Hello! Thanks for your reply. My T4 and T3 are at normal levels, and yes it is my TPO antibody that is out of whack. The doctor at SGH that I sae said that since my T3 and T4 is normal based on the blood test, he cant do anything.

I am thinking of getting a 2nd opinion for thyroid medication for my symptoms. Could you share the doc contacts that are mor progressive? Hope to get this thyroid thing sorted otherwise it may impact my fertility.

oh i didnt know they dont test all hormones together. thanks for sharing. i always thought all 3 hormones usually tested together.

care to share how u know your follicle size? u mean to say doctor scan for u right ? what's doctor comment about follicle 10mm? for me i think it's good that doc tells me if the follicle size is good or bad. if doc doesnt say anything, i would suggest change of doc. feel free to let me know your thoughts.

i can't sleep at night. i should have more longan red date. sigh...

my sore boobs are not so sore now. awaiting af~

Hi, happen to see your note.
I have normal t4 t3 levels but high antibodies. Asked my gp about it and she says nothing I can do about it but monitor my t3 t4 yearly to catch any issues.

Today I went to a rheumatologist referred by gynae. She explained to me that these antibodies mainly affect implantation and so the treatment is low dose steroid in early pg to allow the body to implant the egg and placenta well. I did have poor implantation seen on u/s at week 6 to week 9. So it all ties in. Suggest that you consult high risk gynaes to better manage it and improve your chances. Good luck and baby dust to you!

hiya 2angels2016,
good suggestion. did the doc rule out hsshimoto's thyroiditis?
may i know how they can tell it is poor implantation? I'm asking cos my 2nd miscarriage we saw heartbeat at ard 7 weeks, but few weeks later no more heartbeat. :( im wondering if it was poor implantation.

I just started to see another tcm doc, said my body is cooling. she is the first tcm to say this to me. asked me to eat more red meat and eggs. beef and mutton. i already eat alot of lamb.

@beautifulbreathoflife
will pm you.

Hi grumpet,
The doc didn't mention hashimoto. It does not seem like a big issue except during pg cos the other tsh levels are normal. She did tell me taking vit d and selenium may help reduce the possibility of the thyroid failing in future due to the antibodies attacking it. But selenium supplenment cannot be taken in pg.

The poor implantation was identified by u/s. Gynae said there was a white aura round the sac. He put me on hl till it resolved, as well as progesterone and steroids. Sorry to hear that hb stopped, that may also be due to sticky blood. I have sticky blood during this pg but not when I'm not pg. Doc also told me that when there is 2nd mc and more, the likelihood of a random chromosome issue is less likely, and the probability of other issues increase. So its good to get checked and monitored in your next pg.

I have cold womb too! So took tcm and more warm drinks. I avoid liang cha, coconut, grass jelly which are supposed to be cooling. I find acupuncture really helps me in getting pg, tho tcm says med is more impt.

Hi all,

Im still deciding if i should go to polyclinic for referral letter to Fertility Clinic in kkh or directly head to kkh as private patient.

As a subsidized patient in fertility clinic, can some of you share the experience with me? Are the doctors inexperienced?

Thank you..Hope to get some sharing or advice soon..

if u want to be private patient with kkivf, my friend told me that you would still have to call kkivf first to book your appointment.
for subsidized patient you can't choose your doctor. so you will get different kind of attention from different doctors at each visit.
inexperienced i am not sure. in private practice they are confirm experienced doctors.

kkivf charges is the same for both subsidized and private. just that with subsidy u have part of it paid by government.

i do have sticky blood, but my doc said slightly only due to one of my gene mutation. im taking aspirin for it.

i do find acupuncture relaxing after the initial pinch. i fell asleep.

Hi ABC.. which dpo are you now??

I'm having gassy/ bloated stomach, hot flashes, constipation and headache. But then it just keep tested bfn. Anyone experience that? My menses is late for 5 days now. Been on TCM and menses was regular for 4 months.

Good luck dear. :)

thank you.
same to you too.

i thinking reading too much of the symptoms has gotten me too stressed up. af is slowly showing today. i know i should not be reading the symptoms but my mind just lingers there.

next month, i hope to be able to distract myself as much as possible.

good luck to everyone too.

Hi,
Its my first time joining forum after reading for so long.

I will be going for my first checkup at SGH CARE soon. Dr Yu Su Ling. Any tips? Feeling rather nervous.

My tcm told me that if there is alot of blood clots during ur mense ..means ur womb is cold.....
I used to have lots, but seems to lessen after taking ginger brown sugar drink sometimes. It can be heaty if drink too often. Also, changed to another sanitary pad that have negative ions i forgot the brand, its similar to Longrich pads but cheaper.

Doc asked to me test those hormones only, she din mention anything about estrogen wor o_O
Yep, went to Doc to do ultrasound scan, n asked her to check the follicle size...Went to another Doc for consult & she told me sometimes the follicle will not mature & i will not ovulate  I think my woman hormones also out of whack Lolx
This Doc asked me to take clomid in next cycles. err...heard it will dry up down there so i worried about it. Any1 took clomid & success?

Hi all, I'm new here. 28 this year, married for 10 months now and TTC.
Previously we just let it 'natural' not checking for ovulation
Regular menses with 30+ days cycle
Currently on Blackmores Conceive Well Gold (been taking since 28 July'17)

Last menses was on 25th July
Used an Ovulation tracking app 'Flo' and yesterday (7/8) was high chance supposedly so me and husb done the deed.

Not sure if we are doing it right. When do ovulation usually start?

Some said 10-16th day after 1st day of menses
Some said 2 weeks before next menses

Sorry if I sounded noob!

Hihi, i used clomid and 'strike' after 1st try. I dont find it drying. But u can always use preseed if its too dry for you during intercourse.
All the best!:)

Hi all

I just went to kkh today for my 1st doc consultation.

Made a series of test and scan appointments..

I was prescribed antibiotics and painkiller medications to be eaten before Hyfosy scan..i heard it is a scan to check the fallopian tubes..

Any one has experience with this scan? Is it so painful?

To be honest, it is freaking me out.

Hi! I did the scanning of tubes (HSG in short) at KKH too earlier this year.

For me, the only scary part was the waiting time at KKH. I waited for 2 hours on a scheduled scan (date and time all fixed) before I did my actual scan.

The scan itself was seamless - you might feel a series of intense cramp like menses when the dye is inserted through your cervix via a balloon, but other than that there was minimum pain or discomfort for me. The whole procedure took around 15 minutes for me. I heard some people may take longer and/or feel more pain due to various reasons like nervousness, unusual shape of tubes or blocked tubes

The below link gives a good summary of the HSG experience:
https://www.shadygrovefertility.com...ility/hysterosalpingogram-hsg-what-to-expect/

Best of luck!

at first when i didnt know, i tested with low end OPK first. starting from day 7 after period. as the OPK lines go darker with each day's test, i test with the more expensive one, Clearblue, to confirm that my ovulation hormones are at peak.

at the week that you ovulate, bd once every 2 days including the day of O. this is based on my doc's advise.

age of 28 has high chance. good luck or fighting ;)
