With increasing modernization, they have been placed in resettlement communities where many of them lived in abject poverty as they struggled to make the transition to modern living. Hence a project was started to help the women of these tribes to harness their expert traditional skills in weaving to create bags and various handicrafts and earn sustainable income for their families. This project also ensures continuity of their heritage in weaving. You’ll notice that these bags are intricately woven with beautiful patterns.
