8 weeks but no heartbeat..

Hi.. I just returned from the clinic. Apparently I'm 8weeks pregnant as per doc calculations. But doc could not detect any heart beat...I didn't have any spotting or bleeding. Nor do I have any discomfort in my tummy. Doc recommended me to go for either removal(some what like abortion) or let it happen naturally.
But I don't know...or should I go for second option?
Please help.

Hugs. Do go for second opinion

Very sorry to hear, Anazor. I agree with horseydog. It's definitely worth going for second opinion to be certain of the diagnosis.

I did hear of an acquaintance who waited a week after no heart rate detection at 6-week point, and fetal heart rate was detected at subsequent scan.

To share, my husband and I decided to terminate our first pregnancy early 2016 after we sought two opinions and both confirmed no fetal growth over a week with very slow heart rate. There's high likelihood of natural miscarriage in due course, possible developmental complications etc. We chose to go for D&C over natural miscarriage as we preferred the abortion to be done professionally in a medical healthcare environment, and we could schedule the surgery date (my husband could be with me) and recovery period... instead of waiting for natural miscarriage which may happen anytime anywhere. From an emotional front, it also meant the situation was dealt with decisively, we could recuperate and move on sooner to try for another.

HUG.

The same happened to me before. I went for second opinion to cfm and true enough only sac with no further development. I had then decided to undergo GA to remove the sac instead of waiting it to discharge cos I don't like the uncertainty and I heard from my friend it's painful. In any case, do take care and have ample rest.

Hi, it happened to me too.
I just did D&C to clear it.
Now recuperating from the procedure
Hugs. Do a gd mini confinement. And hope yr rainbow baby will come soon.

I lost mine at wk 8 no heartbeat too. Did my d&c in may. Tcm say try to bu min 1 mth.

Hugs. I lost mine at wk 8 without heartbeat. I try book 2nd gync opinion but gd gync tough to get an immediate appt.

Doc gave me 2 options
1) D&C (removal)
2) Pills and natural abortion.
But he recommend me d&c cause less bloody and painful. And if naturally but not clean also need do d&c or washing. Recovery for d&c is faster too.

I delay my d&c for few days, mentally accepted the fact baby is not healthy and it is better for us and baby so he need not suffered if born unhealthy. I request doc to have a scan on the day of d&c to double confirm b4 ops.

Did a 2 weeks mini confinement and 2 more weeks confinement dinner. Plus take a lot herbal soup and stuff to bu and built my health.

The same happened to my sister. There was no heartbeat and so she was given the choice to terminate her pregnancy. Her doctor Ben Choey recommended doing a surgical procedure instead of a medical abortion since it's safer and more effective. Agree the recovery is quicker too. It also helped my sister to be always surrounded by her close friends and relatives. Definitely helped her overcome.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Considering the importance of such decisions, seeking a second opinion is wise. Consulting with Dr. Jen could offer clarity on whether to proceed with the recommended removal or wait for a natural outcome. Ensure open communication with Dr. Jen, sharing all relevant details, and consider seeking emotional support from friends, family, or a counselor during this challenging time.
