Hi guys, I'm new in forums and I decided to look into forums because I'd like to seek medical advices and hopefully to also get some emotional support.

I'm considered a young stay-at-home mother, happily married, and we have a son who's not even in Primary School yet. Recently, my spouse was diagnosed with stage 3 nose cancer. The cancer actually spread from the back of his nose to his neck lymph nodes, but it's a fortunate thing that they stopped there. Surgery is out of the question, and he requires chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The thing is that, I brought him to see a really really good doctor and he has told us that even after all the treatments, the recovery rate is only 30% - 50%. We were shocked and I was devastated. We have no family history. He doesn't smoke, he hardly drinks, he doesn't club or gamble. He's the best kind of husband in the world. I cried almost everyday for the past two weeks, and I tried to load myself up with as much information as possible in order to help him. I cannot imagine a world without him.

Time is of the essence and we have been trying to stay optimistic. He's currently undergoing chemotherapy and this weekend will be his second session. The first session's result was rather surprising and his swollen neck subsided within a day. The doctor said that he's impressed, and that it's a good sign. He's confident to help us achieve 50%, but mentioned that the other 50% will be in God's hands.

As much as we're trying to stay positive, the thought still haunts me. And the more I read about chemotherapy, the worse I feel. Everything that I'm doing for him, even when planning his meals for him, I feel like his life is in my hands. I'm so scared. I try to tell myself that everything WILL work out, but the fear still comes back to me at times. I'm in a dilemma. My life is a dilemma. I've heard that 90% of oncologists will not allow their spouse or children to undergo chemotherapy. Can anyone help by sharing your thoughts/experiences please? Thanks...

Hello. Thanks for offering your help and encouragement! Is nutrient consultant a doctor? Sorry, not familiar with terms...

Hi, nutrition consultant is different from doctor.

In summary, doctors ease your pain/symptoms thro giving your prescription of medications.
Nutrition consultant, gives you advise on how your should adjust your nutrition intake in order to treat the root of your problem.

For example, you will notice that in a hospital, the patients may need to have 2 different session with doctors and nutritionist, because they do different things.

At this point, you really have nothing to lose. Try Circumin.
Please read for yourself. I have nothing to gain and hope your hubby recovers!

Hi, thanks for your highlight. I only give people consultation. I apologize if I sounds like I'm selling her anything.

Hi.. try reading up on ELO water. I heard it's good.

Anyone knows if it really works? Read up on it and it seems Changi General Hospital is working with ELO Water for clinical trials or something... But. hmm... Drinking water to good health? I've also checked the prices and it's a whopping $60 for six 1.5L bottles! Wanna ask around first before buying... Price quite steep

Hi there big hug to what u are going through dear. I have a friend whose family member also had nose cancer spread to lymph nodes. She went to SCC (as not high income earner), went for chemo and radiotherapy and now in remission. So don’t lose heart, eat healthily (plenty of vege and fresh fruit) and surround yourself with positive friends and family. Praying for his complete recovery. Big hug and God bless!

Hi guys, I'm back again for an update. First off, would like to thank those who have sent me a message to follow-up with me and to show your concern, despite the long period which has gone by. Here's what took place after my post:

- Hubby completed his chemotherapy, followed by intensive chemoradiotherapy all the way until October 2017
- Scan results in November 2017 was clear, EBV test also showed that the virus level became undetectable
- Things looked promising and his recovery rate went up to 50%

- In March 2018, EBV test showed that his virus level was then detectable and was almost triple the amount of the initial test report he had ever taken
- Specialist begun to worry and arranged for a weekly blood test, as well as a full body scan in late April 2018
- As suspected, his cancer came back and metastasized to his hip, chest and back bones, as well as stomach. Cancer became stage 4 and terminal

- Specialist decided to introduce immunotherapy to us in May 2018 as he said that it was disappointing the treatment effects did not last as long as expected. He was not encouraged to go for further chemotherapy as the specialists agreed his health might not be able to take further poisoning
- Hope of doing immunotherapy was to pray for a small chance of prolonging his lifespan
- After two months of immunotherapy (now), his scan results last weekend showed that the immunotherapy worked! Specialists mentioned that it's a miracle as the drug was previously tested on 44 patients but only around 8 or 9 reacted to the treatment and only 1 of them had a fully "clean" scan result similar with my hubby. That's about a 2%+ chance of being treated
- Hubby will be donating his blood for further immunotherapy research studies, in order to benefit more patients in future
- Nobody knows what's next for my hubby as further studies have yet to be done. However, we've decided to let him continue with the treatment until further notice. Specialist mentioned that hopefully the effects will last until late 2019, when new immunotherapy drugs will be released

@Mikoaii Great to hear that!!! :) My mum was diagnosed with Stage 3 colorectal cancer and within 1 month, the cancer advanced to Stage 4 and doctor told us that she was left with 1 year and that's when specialists recommended immunotherapy and now, my mum scan show no trace of cancer cell... maybe the 1 fully clean scan result they are referring to is my mum!! :)

Let's jia you together!!!! =)
