Hi mummies,

Can I find out how much milk can breastfeeding mummy typically pump in a session/ a day? I'm asking because I'm currently on domperidone n fenugreek so wondering if I should stop these medications n try alternatives such as sacred tea. Even with Domperidone n fenugreek, I can only pump arnd 130-140ml most of the time. My baby is in his 3rd mth already. Usually I latch him on and supplement with bottle ebm 2 times a day. Btw, do we need to immed feed baby once he wakes up or can wait til he starts whining? Thanks!

Hi, im having problem with pumps.my baby is abt 2month old and i can tell tat my milk supply is enough/more than required.but i just having difficult time expressing with pumps.tried both manual and electronic but can merely pump out 30-60ml total each time.im worried coz returning to work soon any advice?

hi lawrain, u said 130-140ml is per session or per day? ultimately i think it depends on each individual. some mommies can get a lot for each session (eg 100ml or more) whereas some mommies get lesser. for me i have my good n bad days. on my bad days, i will combine my expressed milk from 2 sessions to make 1 feed for my baby. e best way to up ur supply is by direct latching. that said, even if u pump, it depends on e type of pump ure using. some get more milk using manual pump, some prefer electric

i think u can watch baby's cues. i would always offer my breasts. hehe. if he wants, gd. if not, i'l try to offer when he's 'pouting' his lips or sucking his fingers etc

hi jacelyn_c, hmm perhaps u can try to take supplements? eg fenugreek or malunggay tea or sacred tea etc. for me i found that eating oatmeal helped to increase my supply. i also tried not to stress over my pump output. what pump are u using? u can also try to pump e other breast when baby is latching on one side, though i can never make it haha

Baby is 7 months old, and I pump 3 times a day - twice in the office (280ml max) and once at night (115-130ml). Total 400ml+ a day. He latches on when he comes home from infantcare and at night. Am using a Medela Pump in Style. He's also eating 2 meals of solids, but he drinks milk first. Worried my supply's decreasing.

I took sacred tea but since my milk supply is enough so stopped taking already.now im trying to express out by hand before feeding time as she get choke almost everytime.i usually express 60ml total then latch on.those milk tat expressed out will be kept in freezer.

Hi Lawrain. Whats the time interval you pump each time? BM is based on Demand & Supply. The more u pump the more you have. Drink more soupy things and massage your breast before you pump. U might wanna try Papaya Fish Bone Soup... For me, it really helps...

For.me,.I pumped 4times a day and one.time.only abt 180ml even.I took fenugreek n domperidone... but I realised if.I go for sushi buffet n took a lot of salmon, that session aft eating, my milk.supply almost doubled... u can try.... oso milo seems to increase my milk supply abit.... I stopped pumping milk when my boy turns 8 mths cos so tiring. My boy is nw 8mths, I still hv plenty of domperidone, do.u want it?

Hi peipei,

Can I have your domperidone? It it the supplement to increase milk supply right? Pls PM me, thanks.

Hi mummies,
Just wondering when mummy say they are pumping 100ml, is it total of 2 breast or per breast? Kindly advise. Thanks!

Hello all,

Was wondering if you all know where I can buy Domperidone that is not overly expensive? I tried searching online but the US doesn't sell it without a prescription, and Canada sells it for 30 US cents per pill. Is that the standard price?

Go see a doctor and ask for it.Domperidone is a medicine for stomach wind and discomfort.Didnt know it helps to increase milk supply?I know fenugreek does though I have not tried fenugreek or sacred tea

hey Christine, thanks for the advice; was trying to avoid that though, because now I would have to pay for doctor's consultation on top of the Domperidone, haha, which would probably be marked up too. Ah well. Better safe than sorry... it does increase milk supply, albeit as a side effect.

Lactation consultants do prescribe it on a regular basis, if the need arises.

I am a yr 2013 mummy who stumbled upon this thread cos I was also keen to know how much milk is pumped typically by other mums. My bb is currently 6+ weeks old n I pump 6x a day, with about 140-230ml per pump. Each session is 15 min on medela PISA. I m taking fenugreek. I only latch bb on once per day or every other day.
