Hi mummies:

Are you thinking of having No2 soon? I have been thinking abt it and hubby also expressed that our Anish is no longer a baby and he misses having a baby. Hahahah!!! so funny, its the same man who said one is enough and now hes talking abt names when we ahve no 2?

I think i should strike soon when he is favour of a no2...

Hello everybody! Been so busy that no time to log in here at all.

Sally, I believe Akiden did fine right? He's such a sweet boy. He will adapt very well.

Anne_Raj, go go go!! Go for number 2!

For me, I think not yet. I am still a circus mom, juggling with work and studies. Weekend is filled with parks, swims and Popo's house. I think I still haven't had a proper 8 hours sleep since May last year. She sometimes still wakes up at unearthly 5am, wanting to play. Can faint you know. Aaah... I miss this forum.

Hi mummies,

My boy started childcare along a few other children. Most of them crying despite being tr for a week. Today was Anish 1st day, he did quite well. Wasn't tagged to me most of the time. I hope he can settle in soon.

I need your views: wat are the pros n cons of childcare?

Will children pick up wrong things? Will teachers pay more attention to those who are dependent on them? How abt the independent ones? Shortage of teachers? Will this affect the child's development? Will their needs be attended to? Is it a must for non Chinese children to learn mandarin? ( though it's good)

I feel so worried leaving him behind since I observed some things I was not too happy with. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]

Anne...

Today also my boi's 3rd day at CC. We really have to close one eye... and try to ask abt his behaviour in class from the teacher..

I learnt the more i stay, the more things i dun wat to see.. haha... so better dun see... [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Maggie mee: hi! Ya today day 2,my hubby spent a few hours with him at cc. After he left my boy was crying abitbut settled in quite well. He played, ate his lunch, drank his milk on his own, (till now he refused to hold his bottle) n fell alseep by himself, had his biscuits thereafter. When I went to fetch him, he was quietly playing with other kids n his teacher. He even did his first art piece. I'm simply impressed on how my baby became independent.

I'm glad that he settled in quite well. Teachers updated me quickly on how he was coping.

So test it out. Came home, gave him his biscuits, Milo, he sat down in his chair n ate quietly. He tried to eat dinner by himself. Gave him his milk before going to bed, he took his bottle held n drank all of it!!!!

I'm totally surprised!!! I know you wd be thinking how spolit my kid was. Me or my mum doing everytg for him.

Now I'm no longer worried abt his coping skills, learning skills. Not worried abt how the teachers are handling him. It's so marvellous!

Also just started my girl in cc about one week ago. Glad she is adapting n enjoying herself. Hope when switch her to full day next month she can adapt quickly too.

Salute to cc teachers coz really not an easy job. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Hi Mummies! My gal starting playschool/ child care next week, 3 hours only. The school wants us to get her cloth training diapers. Besides Bumwear (which is quite expensive at $27 + $7 insert), anywhere else that i can find these training diapers? Thanks!

Hi,

I have Quinny Senzz to let go at $450(negotiable).

It is brand new and frame is only used since Sept to put infant car seat.

Bought the set in June 2011.

Interested pm me.

Thanks

pringles, u can try bright bots training pants. i think they are cheaper than bumwear, saw them at isetan but cant remember the price. But they do not have a PUL lining like bumwear so pee will leak out. but kiddo will feel the wetness and maybe get potty trained quickly.

ur CC quite good, encourage kiddo to get out of diaper quickly. most cc wont bother.

Mothercare housebrand training pants white color ones selling ard $29/3pc pack. The ones with design selling higher price.

Robinsons, kiddy palace, Tom & Stefanie also have miscellaneous brands at ard $10/pc.

Thanks Mush and Blue Turtle! Yes, I bought the training pants from Mothercare & Kiddy Palace. Will see which one works better. Have not let duaghter use them though, let her get use to the playschool first.

Hi mummies:

WOW this thread is so lifeless now!!! I can hear the crickets...

Hahhah!!! Happy new year everyone!

I have a situation and wanted to check with you mummies:

My boy has been going to CC for the past one year. Doing great in school, adapting well. No complains. Eats, drinks, sleeps and learns well. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Thats great cos i was really worried.

But i have new problem now: for the past two weeks, when we get back home from school, he will be crying, wailing away. sometimes no tears but just the crying sound. I really wander what the problem is... he doesnt want his dinner, water... takes time to calm him down. Like last night was extreme, it went on for hours. I ignored him, went to shower, left him with Hi5. Didnt hear any sound from him. When i came out of showers, heard him start again but not too bad. After awhile started all over again and went on. I carried him around, calmed him and no use, in the end i hit him. After which my hubby tried to calm him. Not too bad, he calmed down, steal glances at me. Had his dinner and other snacks after that. On and off some wailing but not too bad. Finally went to bed at 9+..

Anyone know whats going on??? Im lost, puzzled and frustrated!!!

hi a_r,

Me, passer-by [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] Don't mind me kpo here.

Maybe he is seeking your attention or he is simply tired?

Probably best is to check with the teachers in CC. Sometimes, the teachers can help to observe and suggest something.

Hi mommies,

everyone seems to be really bz with our lil todds and some with bundle no.2!!!yeah!!

Anne, hope your boy's ok now. Not too sure y also..sometimes they go thru these strange phases of attention seeking or tantrum showing?

Just today, my boy wasn't happy that i had a friend over at our place and continuously made a big fuss, stomping his feet, whinning and pretending that his t-shirt caught a toy..etc...not sure to smile or scold him.,this 'weird' behaviour also started recently, tho he's not in a cc at the moment.

btw, your boy's cc shifted? i enquired with LV and they said moved to the alpha?

Got a qn mommies, do you choose a CC close to your home or close to workplace? Since i will be the sole 'logistics personnel'?

Her MommaS,

Hes much better now. I guess the lack of attention from us was the majot cause. He feels dumped in the CC and when home we dont spend enough time with him .Its alos attention graving. Now tgs are much better, both hubby and myself we take turns so our little boy is happier now.

It depends on your travelling time and convience. My cc is near my plc and from there a 30 mins bus ride to office and back. So I usually pick him by 6.30 to 6.45 and home by 7.00. Days when my hubby picks him, its much earlier, by 6.00 to 6.30 he will be home.

Usually CC gives up to 7.15 for parents to pick their children up. so you need to assess your timimg.

Hope this helps [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Need to measure the timing for you to shuttle between workplace and the CC to better gauge. If you are confident that you can get from CC to work, and from work to CC within the allowed time, then i would say near home is better. At least you don't have to bring the kid onto the crowded public transport or stuck in the morning/evening traffic.

And on your off days, you can still deposit the child at the CC before you go off for your other activities.

Thanks for the advice ladies!

I'm visting quite a number of centers to get a feel of their values and whether i get good vibes from them.

There's only 1 cc that is near my home, and theres no direct bus, either engage their schoolbus at $80 per month. or i have to walk there est 15-20mins one way?

I'm going to view their centre tomorrow, though i didnt get a good impression by their teacher when she answered the phone.

I may get a chance to work at the raffles mrt area, and been to a number of them today, just to get a few of the walking distance to and from the work buliding. So far so good, and most importantly, vancancies available! [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Hi Mummies!

How have you been? I wanna share somethign with you...

Are you feeling tired always? Baby, work and home are draining you? Feel the need for some effective energy booster?

I was in the exact same position as you! I am a SAHM with a hyperactive 2 year old. I am a traditional cook, clean and take care of baby wife. I also handle my online businesses. I am always sitting and needed some energy boost (and REDBULL was always the option)… BUT NOT ANYMORE!

My best friend introduced me to this revolutionary product!- The Bios Life E. (Yes, it’s an MLM product but highly effective and strongly recommended by doctors).

[IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/messages/2495852/6874549.jpg]

Its tasty! Nutritious and most importantly gives you the energy boost! With my activity level increased, I am more active, feeling less tired and have actually even lost some weight!
