Hi, I'm new here.. just joined the Hopeful 40s chat gp. I had 5 iui, 4 ivf and had 3 transfers and all were not successful. Am seeing a private ivf specialist and thinking to switch to another. Heard a lot about Dr TTH. Any one has success ivf story with him to share? Thank you!

Hi Maddiebaby, do you mind sharing how many eggs did you able to retrieve? I wonder if supplements can help boosting the number of matured eggs to be collected? I was disappointed as half of the eggs that Dr retrieved are non matured eggs, so they can't be used for fertilisation. Well, if you are uncomfortable with the dr that you are seeing, it's probably to change another doctor. You posted this post quite some time back. Not sure if you have any good news now? :) All the best ya, don't give up!

Yes. What would like to discuss?

Hello! I know of friends who swear by him and they fulfilled their dreams through him though his charges are on the high side. Of cos there are also people who did not manage to BFP under him. So far, how do you feel being under him?

Do you have any idea his charges? Thanks

Feeling sad. Today found polyps in my uterine and I can only do ER, freeze, and FET next year.
Anyone had polyps removed by Dr. Loh? Can share the cost? Thanks thanks

U with dr Loh? He’s nice right very skilful. His charges are more expensive than Kkh but I think alr quite reasonable for private. Not sure for polyps removal but u can ask his v nurses for a quote.

Thanks. Will give them a call tomorrow.
Forgot to ask him when he broke the news to me. Too sad to react

He only did a vaginal ultrascan on cd2. Didn't see it that time? Are they suppose to check everytime we do a fresh/FET? Now also too late to ask him why...

I doubt I will go Dr Loh for the surgery.
Anyone done polyp removal in kkh/nuh? Can share the cost and which gynae to recommend? Thanks thanks

Perhaps you need to call in and ask. Would recommend Liu Shu Ling as she's very detailed and wont rush through. Good doctors are hard to find.

I removed twice at KK. Once is by Dr Liu last year. I remembered I used Medisave and I don’t have to pay any cash. Should be ard $800 plus for me.

Do call in to make first appointment as need to wait about 2 months to see her.

All the best! She just delivered my daughter a week ago. Her stitching is awesome. I had a wonderful experience under her.

i have recently delivered my 2nd baby at the age of 42+. I have went through 3 rounds of IVF to retrieve eggs and 9 times of frozen embryos transfer over the past 8 years (each time transfer 1 to 2 embryos). Along the journey, i have at least 4 or 5 times tested positive in beta, but, only managed to bring home 2 babies. The IVF babies are indeed very precious, and do not lose hope in trying.

Nice to hear that! Im losing hope already after many futile transfers. Just feel like maybe it’s hard to ever get pregnant and carry to term again. I’m alr in my 40s.

I remembered my doc said before, there was a patient transferred for 15 or 16 times before can success in deliver a baby. Of course, nobody want to break this record as it will be a super exhausted journey. Just do not lose hope, not to immerse own life with ivf only, continue with the career, enjoy life while waiting for the " right timing".

I just attended counselling for IVF. Am relieved to know that can use Medisave. Whole process sounds intense but I guess that's how it is ....

Just wondering if anyone has experience of doing a surgery for tube blockage before IVF? Is that necessary or even with blocked tube, one can go straight to IVF. That's the only part which was not clearly explained ... with many 'what ifs' and 'some people did not need to do'... but seems my doctor is keen to have surgery done first. Do I have an option for this?

Also... during counselling we were told 1 egg transfer at a time.. I thought it was usually 2?

Hello! I did a surgery for hydrosalphinx (blocked tube) before embryo transfer because I kept failing, so back then the doc realised that my tube was emitting toxic fluids that hinder implantation. He gave me 2 options - to clear the blockage (but it might come back again) or remove it. I chose the latter and proceeded with the embryo transfer after that. I got pregnant with my 1st boy for that transfer.

My husband back then had some concerns about removing the blocked tube because he said "next time cannot try natural", i was like "hey, if we could succeed via natural, we wouldnt even go for IVF" Hence, my thoughts were like since I was already doing IVF, I might as well remove all obstacles that hinder my goal of having a baby. it was one of the best decisions I made.
