Hi everyone,

Im 13 dpo today. Used 2 types of kit to test. First test was from a cheapie strip (Faint line) and the other was from a digital Clearblue kit(1-2 weeks pregnant)

I believe I recently conceive so is it too early to see a gynae? Or do I see the gynae at 8-10 weeks?

And in the meantime should I go to a GP for confirmation and get folic acid supplement?

Yay! Congrats!

I would see the gynae at about 7 weeks onwards.. Would you be going the subsidised or private route?

Only if you're experiencing any discomfort then you might want to see the gynae earlier. I had morning sickness from week 5+ onwards. So decided to get meds from the gynae at ard week 7. Could see the little bean and hear the heartbeat ❤️

Folic acid can buy from regular pharmacy. Blakcmores is a popular brand. I'm taking the blackmores pregnancy vitamins which includes Folic acid as one of its ingredients.

Thank you :)
We are planning to go on for private route.
Do you have any gynae to recommend as this is my first time going thru this journey?

Just to ask, fish oil is it a must?

Is this the Blackmore that you recommend?

If I'm not wrong, gynae will recommend fish oil from the 2nd trimester onwards.

Yes, this is the one I'm taking now!

I'm seeing Dr Wong Heng Fok at Thomson Women's clinic in Tampines. He's very friendly! And his rates are affordable too.

Hello, I'm in same situation as you @SyaFiy

Just found out myself pregnant through a home test pack, and since this is the 1st time I'm confused to what should be the next step lol

Have you found out your gynae?

Fish Oil is for Omage3. very important for brain development activity which starts around 8 week onwards. My gynae asked me to take it 8th week onwards

Hi there.,
I would highly recommend Dr. Khoo CK at Mt E Novena. Super good review from many ppl....
He is a very experience gynae from KKH (about 20 years) and last year just had his own clinic at Mt E Novena. He is my wife's gynae (at KKH) husband. Coz we preferred KKH, hence had choosing his wife - Dr. Qi Maili from KKH (she is a very good gynae too). But if we choose private hosp, we will definitely choose him.

@SyaFiy I see.. I've heard about Dr Jasmine as well, but my searching in google are these 3 (totally different from yours lol)
Dr James Lee
Dr Goh Shen Li
Dr Benjamin Tham
So now I even confused LOL

congrats on your BFP!

and yes u should take those folic acid now. Its good to be taking when u are trying anyway.

you may visit a GP for blood test but the clearblue home kit is as accurate too.
Usually u will have your first gynae appointment at 6 weeks, but i know some doctors will prefer to see u at 7 weeks to have a better scan and hear the baby’s heartbeat.

in the meantime, just take it easy and enjoy the process!

First gynae visit will be 3weeks from now by then based on the reception counter which i called in they said its already my week 8.
After much reviews ,I'm making my first gynae visit with Dr Jasmine from TMC

If you've decided on going the private route and you're still deciding on an obgyn, I'd like to recommend Dr Jen Shek Wei at Ang Mo Kio. He's really kind and you'll learn a lot from him. You can go to him if you just want to confirm your pregnancy and so you can be prescribed with the necessary vits. Tho you may need to wait until your 6th week for your first official appointment with the ultrasound. You can only hear the heartbeat around the time. Wishing you all the best on your pregnancy! <3

Congras~~

Since everyone is recommending, i also recommend mine. Dr Hong Sze Ching of SOG. Quite meticulous.

Hello !!, just tested positive last week :D any recommendations for an affordable gynecologist in the north/east? Much appreciated !!!

Can I find out more about the AMK clinic? I thought usually "better" to get a doc that practises with a hospital because of the facilities too. If you went with Dr Jen, where would he deliver at? Thanks for info in advance!

Hi all ,
Went for my 1st gynae visit and this is the outcome. Not a good news but doctor advised to come back in 2 weeks time.

Hello! Stay strong and positive. If you don't mind me asking, did you do both the transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasounds? I also had a week 8 scan but my uterus and baby positions meant only transvaginal could accurately provide visuals. You may also want to consider getting a second opinion, my gynae Dr Tony Tan (currently at Mount A, he was previously with Raffles) is a specialist in fetal screening and I have seen many patients with other gynae come for such second opinion consultations. Meanwhile calm yourself and focus on your health ❤

Hi all ,

I had similar scan like yours in my first try and it turn out unsuccessful because eventually the sac and placenta dispelled from my body after doctor confirmed the scan result in like another 2 weeks for re-scan. Its sad at that time but I went on to have a viable fetus scan in 6 months time and I'm expecting to deliver my baby in 2 months time. So, don't get discouraged if it didn't turn out well, you can still have successful pregnancy subsequently. All the best to you!

hi all , just an updated.
doctor diagnosed me as blighted ovum as my hcg blood level went down.
i had severe cramps and heavy flow of bleeding last week which i think its good as it goes out naturally.
