Trying to conceive 2020

I bought this supplement too but felt nauseous after taking it so i stopped or it will give me false hope as if i am pregnant... lol but i did read reviews that it made the cycle weird, so u r not alone!! The reviews are so mixed. Some ppl got pregnant within 1-2 months... anw i just bot Fairhaven fertileCM supplement on iherb, waiting for delivery so if it works will update!
Actually when I first taken it, I felt nauseous too. In fact before I tried blackmores, I was on gnc’s. I also felt nauseous. So when I went back to buy blackmores the second time, I told the sales person I felt nauseous and I actually also tested but BFN and it also makes my cycle lasted longer :( so the salesperson told me to take in the morning after meal and so I did, and I no longer have the nauseous feeling. I used to take the pills after lunch.

Hi, just want to find a channel to pour my feelings..

i had ectopic twice and the last one was in sept last yr got my left tube removed cos after the mtx jab hcg didnt went down, surgery is needed.. my hub and i went let nature takes its course starting from this year.. just did my 6mth checkup w gyn just 2weeks ago all good..

now i having some cramps on my right side but not sharp pain and i am 1 week away from my period. i knw cramps might be norm if successful pregnant but i am feeling very scared.. ☹ i hope history dont repeat again.. dare not tell my hub about it yet.. likely to take a preg test tmr.. sigh...
Hi dear, cramps can be a good sign! I understand your fears, and it's easier to say try to take it easy, it's very very hard to not worry. I would also wait until it's time to take a pregnancy test before telling him. That being said, I told my husband every single worry I have because keeping it all in droves me crazy! Sharing with friends is pointless as they are not going thru it as I am. Wish you all the best dear, and a successful normal pregnancy!

Good morning everyone! Just wanted to share a little background on my ttc journey. I'm 38yo this year, married for almost 3 years (in July!). Never been pregnant in my entire life (that I know of). Never got to try a pregnancy test kit. In 2018, we decided to go for fertility checks and discovered that I have low AMH. Sperm was normal. So last year, we decided to go for IVF with KKH Dr Sadhana after numerous researches and appointments with overseas clinics and Raffles Medical. Why not utilise gov subsidy and Medisave right, IVF is expensive.

Anyway, on 17th Nov 2019, we had a Egg Retrieval surgery. Out of 7, only 4 were matured enough to be viable. Next day, received a call that all 4 failed to be fertilised (3 disintegrated upon ICSI). 1 egg out of the remaining 3 started secondary mature, which means that the egg is of poor quality but Dr Sadhana wanted to try to save the cycle. Long story short, our first IVF cycle failed. Miserably. In pain from the surgery and utterly disappointed, we let my body healed for 3 months. Alas came CoVid..!! Jan 2020 appointment got postponed.

As we are currently living overseas, we couldn't fly back in April. So we decided to fork out our savings and do it here in Qatar. Meanwhile, I have been meticulously using OPK to try to catch my ovulation days. Finally in April, I was confident that I ovulate on Day 12. In any case we tried few days before.

3 days after ovulation, we went to visit the IVF clinic here. Amazing clinic, new facilities and kind staff. Our doctor is the director of the clinic. As it is private, no long queues, no waiting game for test results like in KKH. I was started on Gonapeptyl injections on Day 21 cycle for 2 weeks. Waited for my period. Day came and went. Got my very first pregnancy test and a faint line on day 5 past missed period! After a week past missed period, we went back to the clinic for a blood test.

I am happy to say for the first time in 37+ years, I am 5 weeks pregnant (Last Menstrual Period)! Yesterday got my first scare with brown spotting.

Maybe this pregnancy won't last. Maybe it will. But at least we know even with low AMH, we CAN get pregnant! So please don't despair and give up hope. I've had polyps removed and 3 years of disappointments. Baby dust to all of you ♥️

Hi there! I'm new to the forum Thought I'd share my ttc journey here.

Hubby and I have been trying for almost a year too. MCed our first pregnancy in Dec 2019. Prior to first pregnancy, we were both on Blackmores, Conceive well for me and Men's Performance Multivit for him.

After MC I started weekly acupuncture and Chinese medicine at Thomson TCM. I'm also taking Elevit as a supplement. Husband switched to Profertil men's supplement. These were recommended by a friend who had been TTCing for 3 years and got pregnant on these supplements. Her husband had low count and poor sperm morphology and they got pregnant within one month of taking Profertil.

I'm now in my TWW, keeping fingers crossed.
May i know what is TWW?

I have taken revosit and still have quite a lot of left over ..it is more like a multi vit, not sure if doctor has to prescribe it. I didnt really find any differences with it though

Actually we were worried at first because upon researching online, Gonapeptyl is not recommended if there is suspected or known pregnancy. However when we brought it up to the doctor, she assured us that it is 0.1mg and thus will not harm fertilisation. The hormonal med is used to prevent premature ovulation by reducing LH and FSH hormones. Starting from Day 21 or 23 of your cycle (mid luteal phase) is a "long protocol" of IVF. When I got pregnant, the doctor said she had many patients who got pregnant naturally before starting IIVFas somehow, this procedure seems to boost fertility. Mind you we were worried as what we read online said it can cause abortion aka miscarriage. But somehow, it works!

Thank you for explaining! Congrats on getting pregnant naturally! Seems like u got pregnant before starting the drug then? Anyway thank u!

Hello ladies! I'm also new here and have been ttc for about 2 months. May i check if anyone has recommendations for prenatal vitamins? Does it really help? I have been taking folic acid too but i'm not too sure what else should we be taking to help prep our bodies...
Hi Germaine, guess this is a late reply but I want to share my experience. For the past year, I have had my share of numerous supplements. I read somewhere that the immature eggs in your follicles actually take about 7 months to fully mature. The eggs that you are ovulating this month are actually predetermined from 3 months before. Hence, if you are looking to improve egg quality via supplements such as Royal Jelly, CoQ10, Myo-inositol, Vitamin D, and any prenatal that contains folic acid and DHEA. I think that was why my first IVF failed, as I started taking these supplements about a month before IVF cycle. So take them early and regularly.

Yes I ovulated on Day 12 and started the hormonal injections on Day 21 onwards so I'm sure I got pregnant before. Up to today because we waited so long, and I have never been pregnant, it's like each day I'm holding my breath in case I lose this tiny embryo.. They say week 8 and week 12 (1st trimester) are the ones to fear so trying my best to take it easy and simply enjoy being pregnant.. How are you right now? Baby dust to you ♥️

Sorry I mean start taking them at least 3 months before. You can't change the quality but you can certainly try to improve them, even for a bit. I wholly believe in this! Good private IVF clinics actually advise this, KKH offer nothing, I had to do my own research.

Hello. Anyone trying to conceive in 2020? Thought some support will be good. Loss my baby girl after 4.5 months in NICU due to prematurity last year. Second month trying and the negative line on the pregnancy kit is bringing my morale down. Period supposedly coming in few days time but hoping it doesn't. Currently no symptoms then feeling very bloated. *Pray*
Hi dear I know this is very late reply but I'm so sorry for your baby girl. I hope you are doing well and still keeping at this long journey. Baby dust to you ♥️

Hi Ladies, had my first appointment today at nuh with Dr Stephen Chew. We were with kkh ivf center for our first so iui cycle and decided to switch to nuh for a shorter waiting time for ivf. Overall experience was pleasant, shorter waiting time for consultation and blood tests results. We didn't had to repeat any of the tests we did at kkh (all cleared) but did a tsh blood test today and unfortunately the results are not ideal, reading is kinda high and I'm going back tomorrow for another blood test. Was kinda sad knowing this because we cleared all tests and thought all was good for ivf but seems like this will cause some delays? Is it true we cant proceed with ivf if i have thyroid issues? Any ladies here proceeded with ivf with thyroid issues? I'm turning 36 this year and really wanted to start the cycle soon. :(
Hi @iibears How are you doing now? Have you sorted out the thyroid issue? I believe you cannot proceed with IVF because thyroid is a hormonal issue and since you will be injecting other hormones into your body during the IVF treatment, it may hinder results. Hope everything is sorted now and you are well on your way to go on this IVF journey!

Thank u! I go for weekly accupuncture too but now cos of circuit breaker i cannot go, are u still able to go?

Can't go too Managed to go for one last session on the Monday before CB started. Physician dispensed 1 month worth of Chinese Medicine. So now drinking chicken essence daily and those packaged herbal soups (no ginseng).

I was married at 32 and immediately tried to get pregnant. When I was unable to conceive I had blood tests for fertility and was told that I had an FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) of 54 and would not be able to have children. Even though the doctors knew that I had been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis since age 25, no one bothered to check my thyroid levels. my TSH was measured at .001. My Synthroid dosage was lowered. a friend advise me to contact a spiritualist who help with fertility with his medicine, i collected his contact and explain my situation to him he prepared for me a herbal medicine which i took as describe by him. became pregnant very quickly, I had a successful pregnancy. I have my baby august 2017. to get pregnant at age 35 with my 2nd child in september 2019, thank you sir , this is his email contact if you require his help [email protected] or Facebook at priest.babaka

I hope you are taking supplements such as Myo-insitol, CoQ10, Dhea as these are thought to improve egg quality. Take for at least 3 months. Also folic acid, Vit D and Vit C of course. Are you tracking your ovulation? OPK and fertility apps like Flo really helps. Do not be discouraged, many here have been trying for years, me personally almost 3 years. Take care my dear and yes do go for fertility checks once you and husband are able to make sure all is in order. Stay safe xx

Oh no, i only take folic acid! I shall buy more supplements and also ask my husband to do fertility test, we have not done any! I am tracking ovluation using OPK, so far it’s v accurate as i always get my period 2 weeks after the peak positive. I froze my eggs in KL 3 years ago and i think the quality is good (doctor said) so using those eggs will be my last resort! And flying to KL etc is almost impossible now with quarrantines etc, my company restricts us from personal travel too unless for very urgent reasons.

Actually it's only an average that the luteal phase is 14 days, mine is actually 15 days . All the best dear and baby dust to you!

Hi, I am a new member. My journey to motherhood has been difficult and disappointing so far. After one natural conception in 2008 which ended in DNC after 6 weeks, I went through a roller coaster ride as below from 2009 to 2018 with an intermittent break in my treatment.

1. 5 months of Clomid.
2. HSG done - left tube blocked and was opened.
3. 4 IUI failed.
4. 1 fresh + 1 thaw IVF failed.
5. 2nd fresh IVF failed.

DH reports were normal all the while and no explanation from the doctor for failed IVF.

Still trying to conceive. Currently trying naturally and taking folic acid, vitamin D & E. Should I still keep hope and try for another round of IVF?

Hi advika, you are really brave for sharing your experiences, thank you...! I am sorry to hear that but don’t give up..! We are in this tog and support you.. actually, I know someone personally whom experienced worse and managed to conceieve after many years of trying and IVF! What is DNC? Are u taking a break now and trying for 3rd IVF?

I'm so so sorry my dear, my heart goes out to you. Our journeys are not easy and those closed to us will never understand as getting pregnant comes easily for them. May I ask how old are you? Also, have you been tracking your ovulation, either medically or OPK? Do you use an app like Flo to track it? I know IUI is notorious for being a failure unless maybe if you are very young.. lesser success than IVF.. That being said, if it was me and money is not an issue, i would go for IVF again. Perhaps change to a different clinic? Also, thanks to the support here, I did many research and took CoQ10 and Myo-insitol for 2 months, then Royal Jelly for one month. I also take Vit C, D and prenatal daily for almost 10 months now. Hang in there, don't give up hope. Baby dust to you dear ❤

Hi ladies, just got a bfp today. 6 months of ttc after an infant loss.

I used the SMEP method and got pregnant at first try. I started taking my bbt from last cycle to know my body better and have been using the okp strips for about 5 cycles. This month I did not get a single positive on the okp even though i tested like 2 to 3 times a day. I seriously thought I was out for this cycle, but in the end I fell pregnant. So no positive doesn't mean no ovulation.
I also started drinking raspberry leaf tea for 2 cycles which is said to help in fertility as it makes the uterus lining thicker and more sticky which is ideal for implantation. Apparently it has very good benefits and can help in third trimester too.
I have been taking pre-natal vits, folic acid and CoQ10 since I started ttc.

All the best to everyone here.
Baby dust to all of you!

Congrats on your BFP!

May I know which prenatal vits you were on?

Maybe this cycle can try the SMEP method like @Amanda Lin
I was reading up on success stories, seems like it worked for many!
Hope you don’t need it and get good news this month..! Haha..
I also read up on SMEP, i think it’s hard as it is hard for my husband to do it so regularly.. he will become tired by the 3rd time (assume every 2 days). Usually we try 1-2 days before ovulation and on OPK positive day and 1 more after ovulation in case haha

Hi Reina37, thank you for the support and motivation. D&C is a procedure clear the uterine lining after a miscarriage or abortion. Yes, I have taken a break since last month to get my body ready as well as reduce the stress before trying to 3rd IVF. Due to CB, I am not sure when can I start the IVF cycle hence at the moment just focusing on the body.

Hi Salgoodies,
Thank for your kind words. I am 40 years old. I have been tracking my ovulation using OPK and also use the Flo app to track. I did the 1st IVF + thaw cycle with Prof P. C wong at NUH but sadly unsuccessful. I am thinking to consult Stephen Chiew at NUH but need a review about him. Currently due to CB, do not know when I can get appointment to start the procedures. Thank you for the recommendation for the supplements, I will add them to my diet. For C0Q10, you are using 100 or 150 mg?
The clock is ticking... hope we all can be blessed with a baby soon.

Can only test next week, but currently not feeling any symptoms so not getting my hopes up.

Is your husband exercising regularly and on any male fertility supplements? Sorry if you have mentioned before but I missed it.

Since my husband started taking supplements, his sexual appetite has increased! Sorry if TMI. He has tried Profertil and Blackmores Conceive Well Men's.

Hi ladies, I am also TTC-ing just got married last dec and trying for about 5 months. As I am 34 already , I also feel a bit gan chiong. Been taking BCWG supplement (started one month ago) and vitamin C. I am wondering if my hubby and I should go for any checks and if you ladies can share with me your experiences? Like recommendations as to which place/dr to go for fertility checks or TCM is better? Thank you very much.

Hi there! I'm going to turn 34 this year, just like you.. Feeling more gan chiong now. My TTC journey started in Apr last year, got pregnant in Oct but ended in a MC at 10 weeks.

I've since started to go for TCM at Thomson TCM under Physician Chen Fang. My period cycles went back to normal very quickly. So now back to TTC again. Read through the other threads on TCM and decided on Thomson TCM due to convenience since it's near my office.

If no news after 6 months of trying then do go see a fertility specialist. My friend who has been trying for 3 years managed to get pregnant successfully under Dr. Lee from K W Lee Clinic and Surgery.

Can only test next week, but currently not feeling any symptoms so not getting my hopes up.

No worries i did not mention! My husband doesnt exercise regulary and not on supplements. He is trying to exercise more, now it is once a week. As for supplements, it is a male ego thing perhaps he thinks he doesn’t need it lol. But, i am just going to buy now and ask him to eat!

I have not gone for fertility checks either but will do so after CB... sorry i don’t have any recommendations. For TCM, i go to Raffles TCM Dr Zhao, she is very kind, and so far my periods have been very regular since i started with her. Before that, my periods are like every 70-90days. Prices are about $90-100/ accupuncture session.
