may i ask how big is your endo and in which area? I have endo at my right ovary and every menses cycle is really want to die. which gynae are you seeing?

hi dear, endo cannot do iui? u just discovered endo?

I wasted doing IUI before I discovered endo. During the laparoscopy doc saw the blood/ endo cysts have glued part of the ovary to the womb wall I think, which explained why I can't conceive on my own or thru IUI.

I have not done laparoscopy before just scanning and Doc said is endo. Since u have remove the endo cysts, should have higher chance of conceive right?

May I know which gynaecologist did u visit?

I cleared the mess but didn't succeed naturally and age catching up so I did IVF. Laparoscopy done by sf loh, TMC.

I jus found over. Over past one year at kkh check nothing. All good then went iui then fail. So this year recently went Thomson fertility centre to try ivf then I do scanning found endo prob. Then I tell doctor I went iui at kkh last year. He said got this problem no point do iui. Then I said kkh never say anything. Then doctor said since done iui then done le .

Now tt my period is not coming back since 18 April after the last menses.

My right side will gave sharp pain and look like outer one side on right is swollen than left de.

Same as me . Wasted on iui before I know I have endo. Should I seek and check for second opinion??

May I know if after the surgery any chance will be good if to get pregnant itself? Any pros and cons? Does this endo will suddenly appear or this over past few years of menses to be appear like tt?

I managed to conceive naturally 1 year after the lap to remove the cysts. After the surgery, doc put me on visanne for 3m to shrink any leftover endo from the tubes. So in all, after my periods came back, i took 9 cycles to get pg.
I also did acupuncture and took tcm at the same time while ttc after surgery. My tcm doc says the med she give during period will prevent backflow of blood so will reduce chance of endo recurring.

Personally, I would recommend removal asap. I thought about it for a year and the cysts grew so big from 2cm to 5cm.. wasted time as my bio clock was ticking away.
I don't believe I would have conceived naturally without the surgery.

pros is that the surgery can help to clean up your insides, like remove any obstruction or blockage.

cons is there is chance that it might reduce the egg reserves because our ovaries are sensitive organs. just delicate touch to it can reduce the egg reserves.

endo might reappear after surgery. for many ladies, it did come back.

if u r 35 and above, i recommend u do not do it. the doctor is most likely wanting some quick money if he/she suggest you to do it. go straight to ivf if u r 35 n above.

I did 2 endo operations many years ago and became worst .. It did not improve at all and now I have been experienced bad nausea/vomit and bed ridden as soon as I have menses that lead me unable to find job because I will feel sick for 3-4 days . I'm currently on TCM for a year plus, it does not help completely but at least it improved my conditions by shortening my sickness which previously could take 5 days to recover.

I'm already 41 years old and no intention to go for any lapo again! *angry*

Either I have to wait for my menopause to come but it may take 10 years to come..
Therefore I wondering if any implant would help like Mirena, so I can go find job
Anyone experiencing same or tried Mirena before to share?

Thank you

Dear all, i need some advise. My partner and i have been trying for a baby for the past 6 months. He is 40 and i'm 38. We decided to seek help and consulted Dr Loh SF. I just went for blood test and him, his semen/sperm test. His test result was good though his Morphology Oval was 2.0. My egg reserve also good. except for my bumpy uterus. Dr Loh recommend me to go for Laparoscopy & Hysteroscopy which will likely to happen in 3 weeks time if my menses come. Should I go ahead with it? I mean he is the expert in this field so i should trust him ya? I know patient will be on GA during surgery, but is it painful after u wake up? I have never had any surgery before. Not even my wisdom teeth. How long needed for recovery? Dr says its a day surgery but need to stay for a night. How do you claim from insurance? Thanks in advance for your advise. I feel scared now... but there is no one i can talk to about this. Some assurance from you girls will be great. :D

do you feel pain during menses ?
actually lap surgery reduces the egg reserves. so in my opinion, women 35 and above should skip the lap surgery because it can be just quick bucks for the doctor.

although there is no need to be hurry but chances of pregnancy complications increases as age increases.

pain after surgery : with dr loh i am off pain killers from 2nd day. i only feel cramps that are bearable after surgery. u might feel bloated and no appetite but its because gas is pump into your abdomen during surgery. u might feel post surgery blues. have someone by your side :)

insurance claim: can claim with hospitalization plan of private insurance (usually the most expensive plan but many of us already have) as long as no "fertility" matters stated in your report and invoice. Dr Loh knows what to do. but u need to pay first. the claim comes later.

good luck :)

The usual menses cramp. Uncomfortable but bearable. But i do have mid-cycle spotting. Whenever near ovulation period, i will spot like 2 panty-liners filled. Comes suddenly, and i will feel wet with cramp. Go toilet check, will surely see bright blood. Dr says it could be the polyps thats causing the bleed. I think i dont really have a choice coz i am not married and my partner and I cannot go for IVF. As IVF for married couples only. I can only hope after this surgery will be able to conceive naturally.

Thanks so much for your advise.

PS: Did you manage to conceive after op?

Hi all,

I'm 29 years old this year and have been having painful cramps since 12. All along I thought it was normal until I started experiencing cramps even when I'm not having my menses.

My friend refered me to a TCM in jurong and during the first visit, she told me that I am suffering from endometriosis and adenomyosis and she mentioned that for my case, some of the blood clots have already been stuck to my intestines :( She referred me to a gyne in gleaneagles to do an ultrasound.

True enough, based on the ultrasound scan, I was told that I am suffering from stage 4 recto-vaginal endmetriosis which means it has spread to my rectum causing bowel issues.

I was being advised to do a blood test follow by a lap surgery followed by either taking contraceptive pills or inserting some device to stop my menses. The surgery costs about $12-$15K.

As I'm currently single and would like to have my own babies next time..would contraceptive pills harm the body as what I've heard from some people esp the elderly folks?

My tcm told me there is no need for surgery but just stick to her TCM medicine so I'm confused ...

Any advice to help guide me make the decision? Deeply appreciate..

i have not really asked doctor about this but my colleague claim that her gynae said cyst or endometresis will come back especially with contraceptives.

it could be a good idea with tcm because tcm are stronger with gastrointestinal issues.

western medicine is stronger with ENT issues.

speaking of which who is your tcm doctor? i might need to go back to tcm too.

Hi,

My TCM is Ying Chuan Chinese Medical hall at Jurong Blk 202.

Hi, yes I have my doubts as I read some similar cases whereby she refer patients to the same doctor in Gleneagles too. I was told to go for some test including boood test before I can go for the surgery. The various tests are about $2k plus Any good recommendations?

hi all yst went to review. doctor confirm i have endometresis on the right side. need to go for surgery and i also found out that i having blood cryst on left side haiz. doctor give me two choice, first go surgery or go ivf but ivf chances is low due to endometresis.

Hi,
I think I know who you saw..

Pls dont trust her.. see another tcm or gynae instead. I did what she suggested and he concurred with her "diagnosis", resulting in me getting exclusions for health insurance.

Years later, i did a lap to remove endo cysts and the doc confirmed the prev diagnosis was wrong! Fyi my tcm then did not proclaim she can "cure me with tcm", but advised removal with recovery supported by tcm (and thanks to that I got pg eventually)

But too bad I already had exclusions so when I applied for a review, they revised it but included my new endo condition instead. If I have not trusted the tcm, I would not have had any exclusions in the first place and would be fully covered even for endo today.

So pls take care and be careful. If you google u can see similar experiences. Too bad the forums were not so common when I saw her in 2002!

Oh I just saw your later messages and seems that she has changed doctors that she referred to.

I heard that Dr Nair is good for fertility from my gp and colleague.

hi, thanks for your advice! Really appreciate it . Originally she referred me to Dr Christopher Chen and Dr Nair as a second option as she heard that he might be on long medical leave. So when i went to the clinic, Dr Chen was no longer seeing patients so i had to go with Dr Nair instead.

He seems like a nice elderly doctor and knows his stuff ...just really expensive and so busy. He came 2 hours late for my first appointment I'm not sure if you had the pictures of ur scan done by the ultra sound? When he did the scan for me, i could see black spots on the screen..he told me those were the blood clots ... he recommended me Surgery followed by the device (which i forgot the name) but the device has to be inserted for 5 years...

He also told me to go for a series of test before I can proceed with the surgery.

Just to clarify..the TCM says wether to have surgery is up to me but she says I have to take her medicine for quite a while to slowly improve the condition

Is he good? What's his advise ?

He also told me to go for a series of test before I can proceed with the surgery. The tests cost about $2k plus and some are not related to the condition so will not be claimable by insurance. I was told that there are two kinds of surgery ...one cost $12-$15k while the other is the robotics surgery that costs $50k ...his nurses were promoting the $50k one as she says they can try help me to claim insurance but still I'm not confident since its such a huge amount ...

Can I ask which doctor and TCM did you seek in the end which told you it was a wrong diagnosis? Would love to get second opinion. Thank you :)
