Tulipmania 2019 at Gardens By The Bay
Fri Apr 12 @ 10:00 am - Mon May 20 @ 8:00 pm
Singapore’s largest tulip festival, Tulipmania, returns to Gardens by the Bay! This year’s edition promises to be a feast for the senses as you get to enjoy a colourful tulip display and a taste of European cuisine and culture, thanks to the addition of a European-themed fair as part of the whole experience.
This is the first time a European fair is taking place at Tulipmania and it complements the country-style theme of this year’s tulip display.
Set in an idyllic pastoral landscape, Tulipmania floral display in Flower Dome draws inspiration from the Dutch countryside and explores the agricultural roots of the Netherlands. As you stroll through the tulip field dotted with thatched-roof farmhouses and adorable cattle and chicken sculptures, you can discover the different stages of growth in a tulip’s life cycle and step into a windmill to take a closer look at its clockwork mechanism within.
Over 35 varieties of tulips will be on display from until 20 May including the vibrant red and white Tulipa ‘Singapura’ which commemorates Singapore’s Bicentennial.
Running alongside is the European Fair from 12 to 21 April in Flower Field Hall, where visitors can enjoy an array of cultural programmes and fun activities, from dressing up in Dutch folk wear and decorating their own pair of wooden clogs. Also on offer is a variety of European snacks such as Dutch stroopwafels and Gouda cheese, French chouquettes, and Spanish churros.
