Singapore Art Week 2018

Singapore Art Week 2018 invites the young and old to discover new and unique artworks, experience immersive events and festivals, and engage with art through artist-led talks and tours. Promising greater accessibility with more family-focused and inclusive activities, SAW 2018 aims to bring people from all walks of life together to celebrate Singapore’s diverse contemporary visual arts scene.
Some family-friendly highlights to look forward to across the 12-day event:
1. IS ANYONE HOME? AN EXHIBITION EXPLORING CHILDHOOD IN SINGAPORE
Presented by Superhero Me, an inclusive arts movement which works with children from diverse backgrounds, this exhibition explores the worlds of six children through mixed media work, seeding possibilities of a future where children of different abilities can grow and learn together.

2. LIGHT TO NIGHT FESTIVAL 2018: COLOUR SENSATIONS
An annual urban art event celebrating the stunning Civic District of Singapore, this edition explores the sensation of colour by transforming major cultural institutions and parks into spectacular works of art. In addition, the Padang will turn into a sprawling picnic ground, complete with a Festival Food Street.

3. ARTWALK LITTLE INDIA
Long-lost tales found in and around Little India are resurrected through murals, public art installations and free performances at this year’s ARTWALK Little India, aptly themed Urban Mythology. Look out for the puppetry programme, where you can make your own puppets inspired by the murals.
