Read On The Go Library-Themed MRT Train
Nov 1, 2018 - Jan 28, 2019
Do you read on the go? To encourage more people to pick up e-reading, the National Library Board (NLB) has launched the third edition of the library-themed train on 1 November. The train decked out as a park with eBooks will run for a month till 28 November 2018 on the Downtown and North-East lines.
This year, commuters will enjoy unlimited access to a total of 20 eBooks and audiobooks for three months till 28 January 2019. Five eMagazines will also be featured. The materials will cover popular topics of entrepreneurship, retirement, happiness, mindfulness and staying young.
The trains will be dressed up to feature the selected eResources in an attractive park setting, to encourage commuters to take some time during their commute to borrow and read these materials on their mobile devices.
To borrow the materials, download the NLB Mobile app and scan the QR code to access them on the app. NLB Mobile is a free mobile application that provides convenient access to library content, information, services and transactions.
It comes with features such as on-the-spot checkout for library items, search functions for eBooks, as well as access to eMagazines, eNewspapers and eLearning courses. Through the app, commuters can also enjoy access to NLB’s digital collection, which offers about 480,000 eBooks and audiobooks, as well as over 7,400 eMagazines and eNewspapers from more than 100 countries. Please see Annex C for the full list of features that are available on the app.
