National Heart Week/World Heart Day 2021 Virtual
18 Sep, 2021 – 3 Oct, 2021
Held in commemoration of National Heart Week/World Heart Day (NHW/WHD), the annual event organised by the Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF) returns virtually this year!
As the championing voice advocating heart health for five decades, SHF has been at the forefront in the battle against heart disease. In a bid to promote healthier lifestyles, the virtual event aims to educate and empower Singaporeans to use (heart) and connect with one another as we care for our own and our families’ heart health. The event this year will shine the spotlight on hidden sodium content in our everyday meals that can lead to hypertension.
Over the span of three weeks from 18 September to 3 October 2021, the virtual event will feature health talks where healthcare experts share on topics such as hypertension and salt intake, gestational hypertension and other cardiovascular disease. From heart-pumping workouts by fitness instructors to delectable heart-healthy recipes demonstrated by nutritionist Charlotte Mei, the virtual event will feature an exciting line-up of programmes for all participants to enjoy from home!
Other highlights include the launch of the Down with Hypertension Programme that educates the public on blood pressure monitoring; and Hugopoly, an interactive online board game featuring SHF’s lovable mascot Hugo, where participants can stand to win attractive prizes!
