Loop: Singapore’s first sustainability pop-up
Mon Dec 3 @ 4:00 pm - Mon Dec 31 @ 10:00 pmFree
Come be a part of Singapore’s first and longest pop-up championing sustainability awareness in the heart of the city. Over five weekends in December, lifestyle festival LOOP brings together over 100 local eco-conscious craft makers, food and beverage vendors, workshops and talks to spread the message of cultivating a cleaner and greener Singapore and teaching visitors simple changes they can make in their daily lives to create a sustainable living environment.
Banning Single-Use Plastic at LOOP
At LOOP, visitors are discouraged from using any form of single-use plastic and are encouraged to opt for environmentally-friendly options such as reusable bags and mugs. LOOP also provides incentives for visitors who choose to take a small but impactful step towards helping our environment. This includes getting a free metal straw (subject to availability) when you share about the event with the hashtag #LOOPSG on their social media platforms.
Local Sustainability Heroes
LOOP is also a congregation of local start-ups and businesses that have joined the green bandwagon and stepped up to create an awareness for conscious consumption through their services and products. Furniture around the pop-up space is specially made by Roger&Sons, a local collective of designers and woodworkers who create bespoke products recycled out of discarded wood from across Singapore. UglyGood is a local waste recycling company that practices waste valorisation – a process that takes waste into transforms them into products that can be utilised, such as essential oils.
Take care of your last-minute Christmas shopping at LOOP
Still looking for Christmas presents? Look for one by local craft makers who promote sustainability, including redesigned seashell creations and jewellery from Gifts of Nature SG, bamboo utensils, straws and even toothbrushes from The Bamboo Straw Girl. While shopping and looking around, chow down on yummy street eats from food and beverage vendors including SawadeeCup Food Truck, Saiko Butter Brew, Hello Foodie SG and Encik Rizal & co.
Come hang at LOOP, it’s free for all
If you’re looking for a space to relax and unwind right in the heart of the city, LOOP is open from 4pm to 10pm on weekdays and 10am to 10pm on weekends. The space also serves as a co-sharing work space for visitors who simply need a space to get some work done. Choose to sit at the dedicated picnic area curated by Picneeds while enjoying live music performances by talented local buskers. Or gather family and friends for a movie at the Pop-Up Cinema by Popcorn in collaboration with LOOP.
