Let British Council Holiday Study Camps Future-proof Your Child

‘Woke’ parents understand that acing exams isn’t everything, and that having a good dose of fun is essential to their children’s happiness. That’s why many parents indulge the kids in unlimited playtime during the school holidays. They avoid signing them up for enrichment classes to occupy their time — only ‘tiger mums’ do that! At the same time, however, do you worry if your child might end up falling behind their peers?

What if we told you that you can give your child the best of both worlds? Start by signing them up for the British Council Nov/Dec 2020 Holiday Study Camps. No, it’s not just about learning good English and the kids won’t be hunched over desks practising their composition and comprehension skills all day.

Rather, it’s an opportunity for your child to explore the world beyond English and develop the 21st century competencies they need for their academic and future success.

Sounds Good, but How Does It Work?

Well, the British Council believes that language and communication skills are an integral part of almost every skill in life. So instead of simply teaching English, the British Council Holiday Study Camps use English as a medium to unlock children’s innate intellectual curiosity.

The kids gain confidence in communicating across various situations as they develop vocabulary on a range of exciting topics. Encouraged to collaborate creatively, they’ll also improve key problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. And all the skills they acquire will naturally lead them towards academic success too!

If you have kids 4 to 17 years old, you can enrol them this coming year-end 2020 school holidays. The programmes are suitable for students in local schools, as well as from international or private schools who may be taking English as a Foreign Language (EFL). This results in an additional benefit — unique cultural exchanges, thanks to the diversity of teachers and students.

Each week, learners explore a different theme, guided by highly qualified and experienced international teachers. Their job? To ignite a love for learning in these bright, young minds.

From day to day, the kids will have fun taking part in stimulating activities and hands-on experiments. What they don’t realise is their knowledge of the world around them growing at the same time. Similarly, while working on group research projects, drama games, and presentations, they develop and improve written and spoken communication skills.

Furthermore, learners at these British Council Holiday Study Camps receive more individual attention from their teachers than in conventional classroom settings. Parent-teacher meetings also allow parents to speak to the teachers to find out more about how their child is progressing.
