1. Capella Singapore

A choice property for sporty families with older kids is Sofitel Sentosa Resort and Spa. Its facilities include tennis courts, a state-of-the-art gym, and a 33m-long pool. The following family-friendly hotels have yet to officially reopen to staying guests post-circuit breaker. However, it’s worth considering booking in advance to take advantage of current promotional rates.
8. Grand Park City Hall
The recently refurbished hotel set in the heart of Singapore’s historic civic district boasts six family suites. These feature interconnecting rooms offering parents much-needed privacy. While adults can relax in a premier room in muted colours, the star of the show is the kids’ room. This is decked out with an activity wall, swing chair, and bean bag, plus a four-poster bed with a pull-out bed. Kids can peer through an arched window, or lounge on a bench that’s a throwback to Singapore’s iconic dragon playgrounds.

With carousing now on hold in Singapore’s entertainment district, quiet walks by the river are possible. Set in the heart of this nightlife enclave, Park Hotel Clarke Quay’s interconnecting rooms are perfect for families with older kids who relish the freedom to flick through TV channels independently. 11. Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa Resort and Spa
If Sentosa is the furthest you can go for a vacation, make it count for your kids. The Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa Resort and Spa recently opened its new Nestopia playground along Siloso Beach. Think 15m-long pool slides, 7.5m-tall climbing obstacles and suspended bridges.

Three out of four of these are from 0.5m to 0.95m deep, which suit younger kids and non-swimmers. We love the hotel’s cute VIK (Village Important Kid) initiative, where kids can check in on behalf of the family at a priority counter. Other fun touches are family scavenger hunts, pool games, aqua fitness classes, and movie nights by the pool.
