Chinese New Year is coming up in two weeks. Have you shopped for the kids’ outfits yet? No need to worry if you’re not keen to join the hordes out there, we’ve sought out seven cool online stores where you can get traditional yet stylish threads for kids to usher in the Year of The Monkey — and all you’ll have to do is move your fingers! Happy shopping!

1. Baby Style Icon

Baby Style Icon carries stylish products for babies and toddlers from handpicked labels around the globe. The mums of boys in our SingaporeMotherhood team love their awesome and affordably priced collections for little men – because why should only girls have all the fun, right?

Baby Style Icon’s Chinese New Year collection is minimal but gosh, such great value. Why? Because the outfits are reversible! So you’re getting two sets of clothes for the price of one! Sweet! (And no, turning it over to wear on the next day does not count as a new outfit for the second day).

2. Camouflage Kids

Enjoy twinning outfits with the kids? If you’re thinking of doing that this Chinese New year, Camouflage Kids is where you can find mother-daughter and family sets that look trendy, rather than auntie. We think their lace-inspired modern cheongsams (which come in pastel shades of yellow, pink and blue) are really pretty, don’t you? And oh so feminine too! And have we mentioned that they come in mother-daughter sets as well?

3. The Couture Crown

At The Couture Crown, 90 per cent of the clothes are hand-made by families who are trying to make ends meet. Knowing that you will be helping a needy family when you buy something makes the purchase more meaningful, doesn’t it? If you like Korean-style fashion, you’ll love the Chinese New Year collection here. We adore their sleek cheongsams for girls and the Mandarin collar shirts for boys. Do check out the seriously fashionable matching outfits for families too!

4. Maison Q

For the Chinese New Year this year, Maison Q is going reversible! This local online store may offer only two types of reversible cheongsams, but that’s no problem because both are CNY-perfect. The “Oh My Scallop!” dresses come in a myriad of pleasing hues – lime green, deep blue, red, pink, and yellow! There are also chevron and houndstooth print dresses, one for each day of the festive season, perhaps? And should your little darling accidentally dirty the dress, there’s no need to fret – just turn it over and voila! She has a new dress!

5. Petit Treasure

The cheongsams and chinois-inspired shirts are the highlights at Petit Treasure. Good news – they come in a wide range of sizes. You can find something here for your six month old baby, or your nine-year-old who’s bordering on tween-hood. It’s a small collection, but if you have been on the lookout for a classic cheongsam, you will find it here. Petit Treasure’s promises that their outfits are all light, comfortable and look fabulous on children. We think they’ll be perfect for an entire day of visiting in our tropical weather!

6. Sea Apple

The cheongsam collection offered by Sea Apple this year is actually their debut collection and we must say that they have indeed started off on the right note. These pieces are all about simplicity, elegance, and high-quality craftsmanship. We love how their cheongsams are traditional enough for the Chinese New Year, but will also double up as stylish dresses for any other special occasion throughout the year. Made of linen, they are light, breathable and super soft to the touch. We approve!

7. Uptown Kidz

Uptown Kidz is our ultimate pick for the tweens. Their Little Qipao 2016 Retro collection comes in a variety of colours as well as prints that are mostly floral – they exude femininity. And boys are not forgotten! Their range of Mandarin collar shirts and chinois shirts appear to be one of the largest we have seen, and they also offer matching sets for siblings and families so the whole clan can be togged out in Chinese New Year style, together!
