Rollin’ Kids Carnival

Health Can Be Fun, created by a team of experienced nutrition professionals, is hosting a carnival for children 3 to 11 years old. There will be various booths at the event based on four different health aspects – Food and Nutrition, Physically Active, Art and Crafty, and Carnival Games. French Movie Date

On one Sunday every month, Alliance Francaise holds a cinema screening for children aged 7 to 11. All movies are in French with English subtitles. Kicking off the one week break is Le Jour des Corneilles or The Day of the Crows, which tells the exciting story of a boy growing up in the wild and how he overcomes its challenges. Creative Culinaire

Who said children should stay away from the oven? Given the right guidance, children from 5 to 12 years old can be good cooks. This holiday, Creative Culinaire will be teaching children how to make animal pizza, baked macaroni and cheese, and meatball pasta. Sign up for all three classes and your child will get a complimentary Junior Apron and chef’s hat.

Indoor Camps

Did you know that Kidz Amaze, the indoor playground, has camps as well? This holiday, both branches of Kidz Amaze offer activities for children aged 6 to 11 years old. The theme at Toa Payoh is ‘Magic of Theatre’, while the theme at Jurong is ‘Jungle Overnight Camp’. These are designed to let children experience the beauty of nature and appreciate the magical world of theatre.

Try a Puzzle Chamber

In the company of adults, a 7-year-old can try to escape from a locked room using hidden clues. How this works: a group of eight has to try an break out of a locked room within one hour, using clues found in the room. Anything in the room could be a clue. Leave your ego outside though, as you may find that your child is be able to solve the puzzles more quickly than you can!

Make Your Own Ponies

This Year of the Horse, let your child learn to sculpt his or her own little ponies using soft clay. Clay modelling helps develop three-dimensional visualisation in children aged 5 to 14 years old. Younger children (from 36 months old) can make a pottery master plate. They will learn to mould, knead, roll and flatten clay and even create stories on their plate with paints.

Robotics and Animation

Outdoor Camps

YMCA has two outdoor day camps this March holiday: a two-day camp at Pasir Ris Park and West Coast Park for children aged 8 to 12 years, and a two-day camp at East Coast Park and Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve for younger children from age 4. Both day camps last from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and include lunch and refreshments.

Basketball for Little Ones

This sports camp is designed for children aged three to five. Children will train to be more physically competent while learning more about basketball. Sessions are divided based on age: those between 36 to 48 months old, and 48 to 60 months old, limited to 10 children per session. You may choose to join the three or five day camp, morning or afternoon session.

Ecolife in Your Neighbourhood

 
Make a trip to Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park with your child for this free ecolife tour to inspect biodiversity in and around the river. Children aged between 6 and 14 years old can sign up in parent-child pairs. Although the guided tour is free, a minimum of 10 sign-ups is required at least one week in advance.

Play Detective

Be a micro-plant detective for a day and peer into the world of tiny living things. Your child will learn microscopy skills and magnification while investigating a variety of plant parts. This is suitable for children in P3 to P6 levels. Participants will be given the opportunity to create their personal art pieces as well as a mini dish garden in this workshop.

Know Your Palms

Singapore Botanic Gardens houses one of the finest palm collections in the world. In the Great Palm Escape, adults and children will go on a guided tour and be introduced to some of the more interesting and unusual palms. Learn about their distinctive features, names and uses. Children from K1 level onwards are welcome to participate.
