Paradise Living for the Family at Montigo Resorts
Taking the children on a holiday can be a rather daunting task. You want to relax but you’ll need to keep the kids occupied. You can’t go away for too long but you want to get away from the city. Everybody, meet TILO.
He is the Little Chick Prince, who crash-landed onto the island while he was on one of his trips around the world. After exploring around, he fell in love with Montigo Resorts and decided to stay and accepted the role as the resort’s mascot.
With a crown on his head, a star on his blue suit, and his favourite pair of red boots on his feet, TILO is the best host you and your children will ever meet. Join him as he takes you on a treasure hunt around the resort so you can experience the variety of activities the resort has to offer, as well as take in the beautiful and natural setting Montigo Resort is surrounded with.
But first, you’ll have to find him.
Maybe he’s hiding in your villa, waiting to spring a surprise on you. The contemporary three-storey villa has a living room, which leads to an al-fresco dining area right next to a plunge pool. On the second floor, there are two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, and on the third floor, a stunning sky terrace that is ideal for the whole family to gather around for a barbeque and star-gazing.
The villas at Montigo Resorts are designed to cater to every member of the family, from safe and spacious areas for children, to serene enclaves for adults to relax and rejuvenate.
You can also search for TILO down at the OLO Kid’s club. Here, children can find all sorts of activities to keep them occupied all day. Housed within a hut constructed entirely out of bamboo, crafty kids can participate in mask making, face painting, and even cooking lessons, while nature-loving kids can sign up for hikes, bicycle tours and tree-planting programmes organised by the club. For the older kids (or even the young-at-hearts), game consoles like the XBOX, PlayStation and Wii are available for use in private rooms.
Right next to the OLO Kid’s Club is TADD’s, one of the two family restaurants located in Montigo Resorts. TADD’s is an energetic and upbeat restaurant that provides an all-day dining option, serving up contemporary Western and Asian dishes. You might just find TILO at one of the tables, enjoying the breeze and his all-time favourite honey corn muffins. Seafood lovers will love Pantai, a modern restaurant serving local Indonesian-Chinese dishes in a rustic surrounding.
This is, of course, a resort for the adults too. While the kids are at the OLO Kid’s Club looking for TILO, the parents can surrender their bodies to the very professional therapists at Montigo Spa for treatments such as massages or foot reflexology utilising ancient Balinese, Javanese and other Asian techniques. Or, head on down to the adults-only Tiigo bar and beach club to indulge in some cocktails while soaking in the pool, and the view as well. You are, after all, on a holiday, so it’s never too early for a Pina Colada.
The OLO Kid’s Club is open from 9am to 6pm daily. Full-day programmes are from 9am to 3pm and from 12noon to 6pm inclusive of one meal and drink for $47 ++ per child.
