Yes, all the good stuff — beauty brands like No7 skincare and cosmetics, Botanics, Champneys, Mark Hill, Boots Dermocare and Boots Extracts — have been given their own dedicated area in the flagship Guardian store at Ngee Ann City so head down to re-stock, replenish, or to start a new skincare relationship! No worries if Orchard Road’s not your usual hangout. The range will be available at nine Guardian stores islandwide (including the one at Ngee Ann City) by the end of the year and we’re sure you’ll be seeing it in your ‘hood as well. Soon, pretty mummies, you won’t have to venture far (read: overseas) to find the best pharmacy-brand beauty buys!

Ikea

DESIGN-A-ROOM, TWEEN-STYLE!

Sharing a bedroom is great for growing kids, experts say. It teaches them to share, to compromise, and to develop closeness with others. But come puberty and tween-hood, children will seek a place to call their own. They need their ‘cave’, a safe space to hole in and carve their identities. This is why we’re really excited about the new Children’s Ikea range, which has been designed especially for eight to 12-year-olds. With over 70 items and inspiration themes – Creative Artists, Collectors, Rock Stars and Gamers – the range gives tweens an opportunity to express themselves as they develop personalities and gain independence. Think flexible storage solutions, psychedelic accessories, quirky lighting and more. You’ll probably find something that you want as well! See the range at Ikea online or better still, head down to the stores at Alexandra or Tampines for a first-hand look and feel.

Lego friends

BFFs, THE LEGO® WAY

It’s a beautiful day in Heartlake City and five girls are seated around a table, chatting about friendship as they play with LEGO® Friends. This sweet scene is actually part of a series of Youtube videos titled ‘Lessons of Friendship from a 9-year-old’, created to market the LEGO® Friends Diary, a book of friendship for girls from nine to 12 years which has pages for BFFs to doodle in with their friends, cementing their bonds of friendship in words and illustrations. Sounds like a perfect gift for your princess, doesn’t it? To redeem one of these limited-edition Friendship Diaries, spend a minimum of $60 on LEGO® Friends products in a single receipt and submit a photo of that receipt together with the purchaser’s name, address, product code and contact number to [email protected] before 31 January, 2014. You can also call 6100 2484 (Monday to Friday; 10.00am – 6.00pm, excluding Public Holidays) for enquiries.
