Hi Jessica,
Is there any reason why you are not considering to breast feed? Breastmilk has so much more nutrients (thousands) that even the FM can't have no matter how the manufacturers fortify them with this and that. Not to mention that the more you breast feed your baby exclusively, the less likely they are to have allergies in future. Personally, I would encourage you to BF since it's mother nature's best gift to your little one... [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]
Anyhow, I would not encourage you to give soy milk over FM unless your baby has allergy issues. I have heard of girls (who were on total soy milk) who had early puperty due to the estrogen content in soy milk. Imagine the impact if ur baby is a boy?
This is what I learnt in anetenatal class, in order of what is best for baby:
1. Direct Latch (Breast Milk)
2. Expressed Breast Milk
3. Donated Breast Milk
4. Formula Milk (Cow's)
5. Soy Milk
6. Goat's Milk
Hope the above helps! [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]
