Private Gynae at KKH

Hi all,
I just tested 3 kits last Sunday and all shows positive!

Would like a recommendation on Gynae at KKH.
Prefer not to wait too long.
Seen many good reviews on Dr June Tan and Dr John Tee but I guess I will not be able to wait so long to see a doc.

Any good Gynae that don't require much waiting time to recommend?

Thank you!

PS: I'm considering Dr Tan Kai Lit and Dr Manisha Mathur - any review on them and the waiting time during appointment?

You don't have to wait long to see Dr John Tee. He is damn fast. My longest waiting time is half hour only? but he is a man of very very few words, really. I only spent about max 5 mins with him during my consults and thats including the u/s scans thats done in his clinic. He will not tell you much if your pregnancy is progressing smoothly. Less talk is good news if you are with Dr John Tee. My due date is this coming Sept.

Thank u nuadiver.

May I know how much you spend each visit? Like consultation and ultrasound?

How much is the detailed scan at 20weeks and the OSCAR if you done it?

Any idea if Dr John Tee sees patients on Sat?

I see he charges for private suite maternity package but does that include the delivery fee?

Thanks again!

Erh. first consult he likes to have it at TPS. Subsequent ones can be can Clinic A. The first consult i went after office hours at TPS and cost me about $240? Then the ones at Clinic A cost around $120 with the routine test ( blood pressure, urine stick, weight ) included.

He has his own ultrasound machine at his clinic so there is no extra cost for the routine scans. Detailed scan i paid not more than $150 at the ADC. I am a private patient. I always see him on a weekdays mostly Wednesdays.

I didn't do Oscar, cos my private gynae told me Oscar is not as accurate as the blood tests ( Verify, Harmony , Panorama etc) I took the Verify test at my private gynae clinic during my first tri.

Erh, i haven't looked into charges for delivery. But will be opting for B1 class ward.

ADC is Antenatal Diagnostic Centre. Where they do the detailed scans from 20-22 weeks.

Thanks! I am 32 weeks now. I see him on Wednesday mornings.

Dr June Tan was my gynae. On the day of my delivery, she was on Medical Leave. The nurses already knew it in the morning ard 7-8am but they kept quiet for about 3-4 hours before asking if it was all right for a replacement gynae to deliver for me. The nurses were experienced & good but I believe it was unprofessional that the matter was kept from me. I had seen her throughout my whole pregnancy but at the crucial moment, did not have the decency to call up and let me know or reassure me that a replacement gynae would aid me through. 4 days before my delivery I saw her for a last scan, estimated baby weight to be 3.3kg although I kept telling her I felt the pregnancy was really heavy & my belly was really big & stretched. My baby turned out to be 4.1kg, almost had a C section, replacement gynae, Jessie Phoon, managed to delivery baby naturally (She's from Dept of Reproductive Medicine, not available as gynae consultant in case anyone interested). Anyway, I last heard from my hubby's colleague, June Tan is known to MIA at crucial moments. I would definitely not recommend her. Opinions will differ, but for me, I happened to have a very bad experience with her.

hi annabelle, now many gyne in kk all left for private hospitals so the waiting time in kk is super long n frustrating! i used to see my gyne dr ong xiaohui in kk and had to wait very long. now she is in tmc and the waiting time is much shorter. she doesn't charge more expensive also cos she has some kk patients who follow her out to tmc. you can try her - just sharing my experience wif u! i think her scan is only $60plus...

I'm just delivered last week with dr John Tee. Pushed around 5 times baby pop out! Feel very pro and skillful! He is really good, if everything smooth he won't talk much. But if u got any question he sure will answer all. Hope it's help.

Hello.. Able to share your total bill and which Ward you chosen? Thanks! I'm still considering to go kkh pte or pte outside.

I am using Dr Tan Kai Lit. waiting time very long. my appointment time is weekday 620pm and I reach/register 6pm. still have to wait till 710pm for my turn.

My no.3 was delivered by dr Tan kai lit...He's a very assuring & jovial doc...during my detailed scan, I was told my girl has only 1 kidney...instead of continuing @ tmc, my Husband & I opted to go to kkh & was recommended dr Tan when we wrote in for our situation...understand that he's expert in high risk pregnancy & from some fetal department...so I Guess I was in good hands...

only remember the waiting time was Super Long once...other than that, it's ok...

Hello,

I went for my first check up week 8 at KKH TPS with Dr. Manisha Mathur. Dr Suzanna was my preferred gynae since so many people swear by her but her schedules are so packed and the earliest I could see her was in November (which I think it's a bit too long). Dr Manisha was the only gynae that was available within the next 2 weeks appointment cause I was pretty desperate as I was still in denial stage of the pregnancy (Surprise pregnancy btw)

So far it has been a breeze as a pte patient at TPS. Appointment was at 220pm and we were done by 330pm since it was our first time. Although I must say, Dr Manisha's english is a little thick to understand and she speaks really fast (to me at least. My husband didn't have that problem thou) and I thought she was a bit rushing as well. I dunno how to feel about that.

Told my mum about it and she said she would feel uncomfortable if my gynae is not the relax kind and likes to rush things. So I am really clueless. Should I change to other gynae or just stick with her? I haven't really found anything specifically bad about Dr,. Manish online although I should do a detailed check on other forums too..

Any suggestions?

My Doc is actually Dr KT Tan, I have seen a lot of negative feedbacks about her. However, during my consultation with her, I feel that she is very motherly and patient. The nurses were all very prompt and proactive. If you are like me - prefer less bullshit and clear instructions from doctors, you can try Dr KT Tan

Choose a Dr that you are comfortable with? I mean you are already paying for private rates in KKH, why not get the best out of it right?

Dr KT Tan delivered my two boys and at least 5 of my friends' babies too. She really doesn't tell you more than what you need to know but that's the most important point to me. I did ask her why she won't tell me more information about a suspected issue (I was being a bit kiasu and paranoid about some baby matters). And she replied that there was no need for me to know more and panic. To this, I agree. I mean some may say she's very curt and unfriendly but I'm the super kancheong and "worrier" for my pregnancies.

By the way, she's known to be really fierce to her nurses. So they are really on the ball when they know you are her patient.

And another thing to note, I did really poorly at OSCAR test and had a really bad result. I asked to see her without any appt and within the next hour, I was crying my eyes out in her room. She was really motherly, spoke to me for quite a while and laid out the options for me.

I highly recommend Dr KT Tan if you are ok with a dr who won't ask you what you had for lunch and how's your day so far. :D

I used to see Dr Han How Chuan in KKH TPS and find him very experienced and reassuring. He found a huge polyps which was causing me to bleed all the time which was not removed properly by a private gynae and if not for the clash in appointment timing (I could only see him on Sat or weekdays after 5pm in TPS), I would have continued with him in KKH for my pregnancy.

Hi my wife is seeing Dr Han. He is only available in evening and weekends. So charges is on the high side.

I was with Dr KT Tan from TPS for my second pregnancy. Agreed with yinnli that she is a woman with few words. Compared to my first gynae who is very gentle and soft spoken, I felt abit uncomfortable with her at first. But after subsequent visits, I felt OK with her. The waiting time was short and my conversation with her was even shorter... (Not sure if she's suitable for first time mother with lotsa of questions in mind). Heard that she's specialised in complicated birth(may need to verify this info), so overall I felt I'm in safe hands.

Everything goes smoothly for my delivery, I managed to deliver my baby in 3 pushes. She told me exactly when to push and stop to prevent tears, I don't remember I need any sitches. Able to walk in the next 2 hours

Hi ladies may i know when u called KKH to book your first appt did you ask for specific gynae? I called to book an appt and informed only male gynae avail. Female gynae earliest slot is in Feb 17.

Oh dear. I only prefer seeing female gynae. Just wanted to ask for female gynae recommendations other than Dr Suzanna?

Hi Inah, yah female gynae earliest is in Feb. Was advised to walk-in Clinic A if i'm concerned and want to have the checkup earlier. Now i'm still thinking...

Oh means I can walk-in w/o appt? Im keen to book Dr Suzanna too but was informed her schedule are packed. Would like to know from the ladies here if there are other female gynaes for recommendation?

Hi, I wanted Dr Suzanna too but she's fully booked until May. I just got to know that I'm pregnant recently. KK suggested for me to go with Dr Kathirvel Rajeswari who can see in early January. Although, I couldn't find any review on her. Anyone ever seen her?

Thanks in advance!

Anyone knows kkh gynae who does good csect stitching so recovery is quick and good? Expecting no 3 and my prev experience with csect wound quite bad.. either keloid filled and for no2, i had soreness on one side for 1yr plus

I have an appointment with dr suzanna 2nd march 930am at TPS. I am going to cancel as i went to another gynae already cos the waiting period was 6months later as she is very popular. Im not sure if i am able to give my slot up to someone else, but if you are able to call KKH and check the procedure, i can give my slot up to u. PM me if you wish to discuss this further

Pple mostly take dr suzanna as she is pro natural birth.. Usually her reviews are due to natural birth, not c sect

Thanks Punksai.
Mine is likely elective csect as my first 2 were csect so I am looking out for a gynae in KKH which is good in csect stitching.
Thanks

U need to do both as dr suzanna waiting time very long.
Poly will refer u to kkh subsidized clinic.
U go for all subsidized checkup until its time to see dr suzanna. U will start paying private rate once u are seen by dr suzanna
