There have been stories that Malaysia will very soon pass a law in parliament to ban egg and sperm donation in the country.
It was said that the law was actually drafted in 2016, but have been hanging for a very long time, and now the time has come for it to be debated and ratified in the Malaysian Parliament.
Because of this, many IVF clinics in Malaysia have suspended their egg and sperm donation programs, pending appeal to the Malaysian Ministry of Health to be more lenient in permitting egg and sperm donation for non-Muslim patients.
